Hōkūlià Shave Ice

Got to enjoy Hokulia shave ice one last time on Memorial Day. The owner was closing up shop and moving back to Utah. It was great while it lasted! Our family is sad about this though because it was the closest to home (Hawaii). Hokulia shave ice will be missed!

My girlfriend talks about real hawaiian shaved ice all the time (She is from Hawaii). When I spotted this business on Unilocal she got excited. She recognized it’s authenticity. The owner was friendly and very sincere. We enjoyed talking to him. My girlfriend ordered the guava, passion fruit, mango with coconut ice cream and the sno cap (condensed milk). I ordered the alotta colada with vanilla ice cream and the sno cap. We both ordered big kahuna sizes (eyes bigger than our stomach). The owner had these ready in no time and the looked HUGE and amazing! The look itself is enough to make your mouth water. Colorful and cool. It was my first hawaiian shave ice… although I am on what they call the 9^th island? The shave ice was DELICIOUS! I tried both flavours and I wanted more! I want to go back already but don’t want to look crazy. I know they just opened, and they will be BUSY. Go there while you can get in a short line. News spreads fast!

This place is great! Huge sizes and lots of different flavors. There’s not much shade to duck under while you wait in the heat, but they’re definitely worth it.

Though it is in a funny location, I don’t think anyone minds making a pit stop to grab some shaved ice!
Don’t miss it though! It can be really easy to overlook if you’re not really looking because it is a truck stand located at a gas station/​shop.
I’m from the small town east coast, where shaved ice was a delicacy during concerts and shows and Disney On Ice… so having a place so close to my house reminded me of my childhood, the 90s, when kids were obsessed with all things artificially flavored with food coloring like gushers and fruit roll ups and shaved ice.
There are so many flavors and various toppings – the list is almost endless! And you can get as many flavors on your cone as the staff can fit! But the staff can put quite a lot because they give you a TON of ice, no matter what size you end up getting.
My two favorite flavors are tiger’s blood and blue Hawaii.
Just a warning, I know some people don’t like shaved ice because it is entirely dependent on how much Artificial flavoring is poured on, so just be warned – shaved ice is not shaved snow!

The shaved ice was delicious. Reminds me of our trip to Maui on our way to Hana. I highly recommend this location. The service was fast and friendly.

Absolutely delicious. So many flavors to choose from, almost everything you can think of. Definitely found a new spot I will be going to in the future and referring friends to. Friendly staff and good service.

Icy sweet goodness sure helped beat the heat on a hot and humid day. There’s absolutely no place cool to wait, so be prepared to melt a little while waiting for your treat. Lots of flavors and add ons, like like li hing powder – we had the piña colada with a scoop of coconut ice cream and a Hawaiian rainbow.

Best shaved ice around. They are huge too! My husband and I usually just share the smallest. They also have a million flavors to choose from. And don’t forget to get ice cream and a snow cap on your snow cone! It’s the best!

Yummy favors, nice service and huge portions. My kids and I will be coming back very often this summer for a cool treat!

Hokulia shave ice has a great staff that runs the place very well. I am not a huge fan of shave ice myself, but the product is quality and a quality portion size. I would recommend for anyone who is looking to cool off in the Las Vegas summer heat.

Hokuli is so great. I moved from Hawaii and haven’t been able to find a good place with shave ice. However HOKULIA IS THE GREATEST SHAVE ICE PLACE IN VEGAS
