Well, I guess that my opinion of a business can do a 180 in 8 months. I bought a phone in this place about 18 months ago. The phone cost $ 140. They asked if I wanted insurance for $ 5 per month. Paying $ 5 per month to insure a $ 140 phone, isn’t a bad idea when you crunch the numbers, which I always do. I lost my phone a few weeks ago, and when I called Boost to get a replacement phone, they informed me that there was a $ 60 deductible. Now I ask you… Is there anybody out there who would pay $ 5 per month to insure a phone with an effective value of $ 80(140 – 60). Not in a thousand years would I do that. That’s the equivalent of betting that your phone would be lost or destroyed within 16 months. It is not worth it. Obviously, the deductible was not disclosed to me, when I bought the insurance, otherwise I would not have bought it. There was nothing that I could do, because it was mentioned in the microfiche contract, of which my jeweler could not even make out. To add insult to injury(actually injury to insult), they said that they would not give me the $ 60 discount on my replacement phone, until their claims adjuster wrote his report. A claims adjuster for a $ 60 issue?! Are you kidding me?! It get even better… This was a business line, so I could not wait the 2 – 4 week claims process. I offered to pay full price, up-front, for my new phone, and wait for the $ 80 reimbursement. Not so fast… They informed me that if I were to buy a new phone before the claims process was over, it would void the policy. So, I ended up paying $ 140 for the phone, $ 120 in insurance premiums, and received zero benefit. I was so upset, that I told them to start the claims process, and then I proceeded to switch to another service. And you can bet that when this new service asked me if I wanted insurance, I asked how much the deductible was, before they even finished their sentence. Lesson well learned. Prospective phone buyers, beware.
