Jude’s Barbershop

Most of stylists are pretty good. They lost my business recently. Had an appointment and and waited around for 25 minutes while three stylists talked because they had ‘requests’ coming in. Thought that was why I made an appointment. Very unprofessional.

Moved to Michigan fromAz back in November and have been struggling to find my girlfriend a new barber. After 4 horrible haircuts we came across this place and thank god we did. Best haircut she’s gotten since we left Phoenix! They definitely know what they’re doing here and it’s so refreshing! So happy!

Nice hair cuts, beautiful girls. Attention to detail at times. Would be nice if there was a returning customer point system or something. Would like it to be open later as well.

Jessica K. does an awesome job. However, I can’t say the same for all her co-​workers.
Recently I got the worst haircut of my life here. I asked for the hair on the sides to be tapered. I also asked that the top be blended into the sides. What I got was the sides of my head buzzed to one consistent length except for the patches she missed entirely. Instead of blending I pretty much got a bowl cut. And to top it all off, my sideburns were uneven.
All this took about three minutes. When I asked her to take a little more time and blend the top with the sides she became offended. She quickly took a few more snips and rushed me out the door. When I left, my hair looked like shit so I went to a different Jude’s to get it fixed. The woman who fixed my hair couldn’t believe how bad it looked. She said there were cut lines all over the top, that she has seen better blending from cosmetology students, and that I was the second person to come in that day to get my hair fixed after this place botched it.
This place gets two stars because Jessica K. Does a really good job and takes her time. I also hear Heather is good. Be wary of the rest.

My stylist was really nice. The shop was clean and upbeat. The décor wasn’t over the top for a male oriented place. Unfortunately, the hair wasn’t really cut as desired despite having four pictures shown. Additionally, the barber stylist admitted to rarely ever doing anything other than fades.

I’m pickier with barbershops than I am with restaurants so I’m really glad I found this place. I was a little shaggier than usual since I’ve been so busy, but that wasn’t a problem. I like to go down to a zero on the sides so the smallest flaws are really noticeable. Samantha gave me a really clean fade and a trim/​thinning up top. I called ahead to make an appointment, so I was in and out. PS. spend the extra buck and get the neck shave. I’ll definitely be coming back!
On my third haircut now. Each time the previous gal wasn’t available. Saw Laura today. Very happy with her mad skills. She’s a doll. Thanks a bunch!

I was referred to Jude’s by a friend. He told me «eh, it’s just a barbershop — not too special.»
What dirty, utter lies.
Okay, so Jude’s IS in all actuality just a barbershop. But, I just got to Lansing from SoCal a few months ago and I’ve been disappointed with my haircuts here. The service I got at Jude’s was easily a $ 40 haircut in SoCal. Here, it’s an amazing deal at $ 18 for «The Jude.» This includes a haircut, shampoo, and some shaving action, and included a scalp massage with some American Crew minty conditioner at some point (they use mostly American Crew products here). The haircut was great, the ladies cutting hair were responsive and efficient, and the shop is clean.

Just got done with my first Jude’s experience. It was fantastic! I was a little apprehensive beforehand, because I’m not a big fan of franchised or chain barbershops, but Jude’s definitely did not disappoint. Somewhat similar to Floyd’s 99, but not quite as «punk», Jude’s atmosphere strikes a balance that could appeal to any man, striking a blend of classic and modern barbershop elements into what is actually a male-​oriented salon. This is actually the first of a few area barbershops I’ve decided to try, but I’ll definitely return to Jude’s. Great service, treatment, and excellent cut.

Great place to get a head shave!

I’ve never had a bad haircut from Judes. All of the girls are friendly and try very hard to make me happy. I always get the Jude’s Cut and stop the girls at the massage, the vibrating hand machine can’t be good for them. I’ve managed to become acquainted with a couple of the girls and I assure you they really care about customer satisfaction.

I got the worst haircut I can remember. The lady had no sense of proportion, and thought that a ‘haircut’ meant cutting off all hair that is available on the head.
I will look like a fool for the next 2 – 3 weeks — serves me right for picking this shop. I would recommend it to someone I had to get even with.

I brought my poor boyfriend here when he needed to get all of his beautiful hair chopped off. The woman working with him was great. He had long hair for about 15 years, so he had no clue how to get it cut. She was able to give him a hair style that looked great and didn’t leave him traumatized. He was very pleased.

Great haircuts and good service. Hot towel and shampoo treatment are nice benefits as well. Highly recommended just make sure you call ahead of time.

I’ve been going to Jude’s for quite a while now, I’ve always gotten quick and friendly service and even though I get a pretty run of the mill haircut they always take the time to ensure it looks great and that I am satisfied with it. The Jude’s haircut is well worth the few extra dollars, the jiggly massage hand thing isn’t that great (and I always think it’s bad for their hands), but the shampoo/​hot towel treatment is nice.
