My mom used to order this pizza all the time for us as I got older I totally forgot about this place until I received a flyer in the mail. I thought I’ll give them a try unfortunately when I call to order there was no answer I thought maybe they were just busy so I call back and still no answer. Someone finally picked up the phone on the third call just to hang up on me. guess we won’t be eating guidos tonight or any other night…

Gaa! Just a week or so later, our same group rambles in at lunchtime on a Saturday. «So, what are the $ 2.00 beers today?» «*Blah, *blah and *blah.» «That sounds like crap but fine, I’ll have a($ 3.50) Sammies». …friends order a bunch of the $ 2 beers… …great pizza all around… …check arrives and I’m paying. «Er, those beers did not ring-up as $ 2.» «Oh, sorry. Owner says NO beers are $ 2 today.» Wha? I show her their PennySaver ad, picked up from their own f***ing bar not 10′ away: «$ 2 beers, every day, all day». «What was the first thing I asked you?» «You asked, ‘Which beers are $ 2′ « “And what did you reply?» «I said, *Blah, *blah and *blah.» «And that is a contract [you moron].» «I’m new here. If you want, I’ll pay for them.»(she starts to weep?) «Darn it to heck-a-roonie. No, no.» Frick. I’m such a softie. I back way down. … One of my guests does not. Stands up to confront, er, someone. Those lite beers are kicking in… Nope, sits down. We’re done here. WWTFSMD? Give her her 20% but head over to Coaches. Oh, and just to really nitpick, 1 of the 2 delicious Bravery Brewery beers was out and my wife’s Coors Lite was out. Who the **** runs out of lite beer? Great pizza but damn, get the rest of your business together.

I haven’t sampled the huge Guido’s menu extensively, but the pizza is very good. If you’re new to town, they’ll probably send you a coupon for a free mini pizza, and that was how I found out about the place. When we went back, my family got the dinner for 6 deal, which is a large 1-topping pizza, a pasta dish, large dinner salad, calzone, bread, and garlic bread, for $ 22.86. So if you like all that stuff, it’s a super deal. I tried a bit of each(we got lasagna for pasta) and I don’t remember being too impressed by anything but the pizza. Then again, I wouldn’t normally buy lasagna or any other kind of pasta when I can make it myself, nor would I buy some lame version of garlic bread when that can be pounded out in five minutes(after picking up the 5PM fresh bread from Albertsons). Nice fresh cheesy pizza is another story. So four stars for the pizza, but a hearty«meh» for everything else.
