I know you don’t go to Pollo loco for gourmet food but dang 30 bucks for a family meal and it comes out looking like hospital/cafeteria food. I haven’t been in a long time but I got sick and couldn’t cook dinner so my husband went to pick up some chicken. Big mistake the chicken is super thin hardly any meat mostly burnt skin and the salad was so low quality. If I was the owner of this establishment I would be embarrassed

I am writing this review in order to remind myself to never eat there again. Beyond the fact the food was mostly mediocre, there was a rather grotesque looking hair there with my chicken. The only thing that was halfway decent was the avocado quesadilla with shrimp. We threw almost all of the $ 55 order into the garbage.

No flavor. Won’t be coming back. The beans rice and chicken all taste so bland. Yuck

So we use do go to this el polo loco about 6 to 10 times a month. But after today never again. I live in Rosamond so it’s not just down the street. I ordered 2 double chicken tostadas and when I got home I had 2 regular. I called and the nice girl kept putting me on hold to speak to the manager who was to busy to speak to me. But she said he would give me a 10% discount. Wow a 1.40. Well no more for me I found another one on 10th street.

Great food. Chicken was marinated perfectly and was juicy and tasty. The tortilla soup was great on such a cold day. The staff was friendly and very helpful in assisting me in making choices. The restroom was very clean. Although busy, service was quite quick. Like it much better than the other location.

Unilocal says it’s open until midnight and I drive all the way here to find out it’s closed. Wasted gas money.

Only because there is no opportunity to give less. Service is less than worse. Speaker is always crackling, the rare times I go in. Lady is impatient while trying to see UNLIGHTED menu in drive thru. Can’t say how food is. I didn’t see menu options and couldn’t order. SO I drove away and went elsewhere. The drivethru is to narrow for a Pickup to drive thru w/o rubbing the tires. I can not say enough miserable things about this poor excuse for a local eatery.

Usually most ElPollo Locos use fresh chicken in their salads but this one had a new chicken avocado salad so I thought I would give it a try but the chicken was old and hard pieces probably from yesterday or the day before who knows. Will not be trying this again

Still busy and slow. They’re not very efficient. There are a lot of employees but it’s probably because there’s a drive thru and they’re not good at prioritizing orders. ugh I need my food now!

Walked in on a Sunday afternoon and place was full. Glad my brother and I were taking our food to go. Pricesq have gone up but it’s pretty good tasting grilled chicken plus it’s our father’s favorite. Ordered about 32 pieces since we already had sides back home. All employees were attentive and had a smile. After 20 mins we had our chicken in hand and took off. Plenty of parking and they offer drive-thru as well.

Been here a few times but won’t be going back now, all seven of our family members got food poisoning, I’m actually writing this review from a hospital bed, won’t take that risk there again

For the longest time, I rarely ever went to El Pollo Loco but for some reason I started going again. These last few visits have reminded me why I don’t go to El Pollo Loco. The food is severely overpriced. This is a biggie for me because I have a high regard for value and the price to quality ratio just doesn’t add up here. The quality of the chicken has become so depressing over the years. I used to enjoy the chicken tacos until I ran into some very questionable looking chicken. Completely turned me off, I won’t ever order them again. Even the Pollo bowl has had some iffy chicken at times. Not cool. Drive-thru is a nightmare so I never even bother with it. The inside of the restaurant is almost always packed shoulder to shoulder. Good luck trying to get anything at the salsa bar. Obnoxious customers push through as if the salsa bar is offering some sort of life saving antidote. Service is pretty much always worthy of a good facepalm. I always end up with the cashier who can’t figure out where the button they’re looking for is located. Then for some reason they end up deleting and redoing my order a handful of times. Meanwhile, the other cashier has taken 5 orders which are now all ahead of mine, increasing my overall wait time. On one occasion, I received half of my order and was waiting for my tostada salad. Waited for 15 minutes before I went to ask what was going on. Eventually, they gave me the tostada salad that was sitting on their shelf all along getting soggy. They offered to give me churros as compensation but they had to make them first. I said okay. 15 minutes later they call me up and try to give me another tostada salad. I asked if that was correct since I already received one. At this point the woman began getting frustrated and asked what I was waiting for and I said the churros. She took the salad back, retrieved the churros and slammed them into my hands. That was the point that I decided I was done with El Pollo Loco.

What’s not to love about the crazy chicken. It’s hard to find fast food that you don’t feel horrible afterwards. I like the chicken and putting together tacos. This location was busy but got me through the drive thru quickly and very friendly. I woukd give them 4 cray cray chickies…

Chicken was burnt and had odd pieces in the box. My kids who usually love the chicken wouldn’t eat it. The sides were the best part but when you spend 30.00 dollars you want awesome chicken. I won’t go here again anytime soon.

Always had great service and food here. Never had any complaints. Occasionally we’ve had outstanding service, but never had poor service. Food always tastes fresh. Good to go!

The double chicken salad looked absolutely disgusting and had hardly any chicken on it. Ridiculous. Chicken was black and corn was ask dried up. I do not recommend.

I love el pollo chicken with the green guacamole like sauce. Too bad they got rid of the big plastic cups where I would put my sauce in! Now I have to use the small little plastic cups and I easily go through 4 of those for one piece of chicken! Anyway, only bad thing about this place is the wait and it gets busy from time to time. There have been a few occasions where my chicken was chewy and the skin was burnt so check your order before leaving!

I have never seen a busier El Pollo Loco in my life! The lines were consistently 10 deep during the lunch hour I ate dining in, with a constant flow through the drive-through. Services was fast and efficient, I only had to wait about 15 minutes for my food, enough time to wash-up and grab drinks and sauces to go with my meal. Best of all they honored coupons I got in the mail saving a couple dollars! Cheap food made cheaper. :) The tall table that I snagged had some crumbs and straw paper, this place is so busy that there are no free employees to help clean! So we had to wipe down our own table, but at least we got a table with the crowd. I guess this El Pollo Loco is a good location, right off the 14 freeway and in-between a giant strip mall and residential housing. The mild salsa is very fresh due to the volume turnover and the staff is great with restocking when they start to run low. The proportion of ingredients is perfect and not too watery. The customers are something else, I know it’s crowded and all but I waited a good five minutes at the sauce station because there were two older women ahead of me that filled up at least seven containers each of sauce each! One of them was repeatedly filling her cup with the avocado sauce and them pouring it back in to the vat because she kept scooping little chunks of cilantro/jalapeño and she decided she didn’t want that. What the heck?! At that point just bring a container from home since you’re not using the sauce for your own meal but stealing it. LOL

They always have crazy long drive thru lines. The line goes out the drive way and spills onto ave J. I really like their chicken, rice and beans, but I can’t stand how busy this particular location is. I would rather eat elsewhere simply because its usually at least a 20 min wait for a fast food restaurant. They really need to open another El Pollo Loco nearby.
