I love this place! The staff is awesome and always remembers us and makes us feel welcome and I love the food! It may not be traditional Chinese food, but I know it and I’m ok with that, it’s still freaking great!

I am a huge Pick up Stix fan, and come here frequently on my lunch break(I work nearby). My favorite is the house chicken. Their service also has been very good, and the cashiers seem nice.

Had some food delivered today so I didn’t actually go into the location, but everything was good. Their semi-newer chopped chicken vinegarette salad is super yummy and the tofu and broccoli veggie side is very good. Carrots were hard and raw, though. Honey chicken lunch was a nice size and good. Edamame wasn’t soggy so it was cooked well. Overall, happy this time around.

First off, as far as chain Chinese places, I really like Pick Up Stix. Some entrees are really good. I love the fire tofu and kung pao chicken. However, the Thai coconut curry was awful and bland as hell. Reminder do not offer non-Chinese food at Chinese places. But the reason I give it three stars is I was annoyed they didn’t provide chopsticks and sauces with my take out. Like really annoyed. Of course I will keep coming here, but remind them for sauces when doing take-out.

Food is amazing here… Never an off day. The staff are some of the best people we’ve encountered at any food spot.

I have been an avid customer at this store. I am there at least once a week. This isn’t the first time one of the workers upset me. However I was especially displeased with this time. I called ahead to order something for a take out order. The guy asked me what I wanted, I proceeded to tell him all I wanted was edamame and he said it would be ready in five minutes. I arrive ten minutes later, and walk up to this girl at the register. I tell her I am here to pick up an order for«Jamila» and she tells me there is no order under this name. I then inform her I called ten minutes ago and the order was suppose to be ready. She just gives me a blank look. I said okay well can you make my order then? She says sure. Okay fine. Then I wait another ten minutes for the edamame. When I do get it, it is soooo skimpy! I get to the car and debate w my friend about going back in and saying something. I mean I waited for not even half a bowl of edamame. So I decide to call and ask to speak with a manager. Long story short he tells me «He did speak w me however he never placed my order». I then ask him«why wasn’t it placed when you told me it would be ready? ». He then tells me «because it is quick to make and he didn’t want it to get cold». Well obviously it wasn’t quick to make, and if this was procedure he could’ve told me over the phone. I came in thinking my food was ready. Point is I got no apology or «sorry miss». The best I got was a whoops . Oh and last time I was there, I ordered food and the workers persisted to tell me it had a lot of calories in it… What are you trying to say? Just BAD customer service.

We ordered House Special Chicken and Orange Chicken, with a side of cream cheese wontons. The House Special Chicken came with more rice than chicken. The Orange Chicken had more water chestnuts than anything else, and WAY too many orange slices. And why do the wontons come with NO sweet and sour sauce? We used to love this chain, but after our last experience we won’t be back. Only gave two stars(instead of one) because the brown rice was good. And there was a TON of that.

First, the staff here is always nice and friendly, tonight was no exception. The food came out fast, hot, and tasted GREAT! I have never had a complaint about the food here, even with special requests. If I had to give any criticism, it would be that it was a little chilly in the dining area.

After eating their Lo Mein dish I became very dehydrated. It makes me wonder if they put MSG in their food, if not, does their sauce contain MSG? I am very sensitive to it that’s why… not ordering here again. Their brown rice was a bit hard to chew also. Update: I found a piece of hair(that looks kinky) in my brother’s leftover stir fried vegetables!!! Gosh, what a bad experience !

I had never been to a Pick Up Stix before, but I’ve had plenty of Chinese food before, so I thought I’d press my luck with this Pick Up Stix on the northeast corner of Candlewood and Clark. Even though the food was good, the customer service I received that day made me wonder if they really did appreciate my service or if they were just having a bad day. I went to pick up food at Pick Up Stix on a Thursday around 5PM. It wasn’t too difficult to find parking even though there were several other restaurants surrounding the Pick Up Stix. There were only about two people in line when I entered the restaurant, and I quickly perused the menu above the cashier’s head. I was debating between the Salmon and the Pad Thai, but I decided to go for the Pad Thai Noodles; after all, I hadn’t had any Pad Thai since college, and Pad Thai was one of my favorite dishes to eat after a long, hard day of studying. As I ordered, I got the impression that Erick the cashier didn’t want to be in front of the register taking people’s orders. He didn’t have the usual courtesy customer service voice that I typically see at other restaurants. I felt like I was talking to a monotonous automaton! Anyways I ordered the Pad Thai, and when he gave me my receipts, I noticed that he spelled my name with three K’s at the end! DereKKK??? Great… now it looks like I’m affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan. Not cool. I know it’s just a misspelling of my name, but I mean seriously??? Anybody who spells my name with three consecutive K’s needs to see a counselor. What if I were to spell Erick’s name as EricKKK? As I’m waiting, I’m just casually lingering next to the long dining table at the near corner of the restaurant. I look at some of the other stuff that Pick Up Stix has from their utensils to their sauces and even their cookies. I swear Erick decided to turn his head towards me as if I were going to do something wrong. I’m just an innocent customer waiting for his food. There’s nothing wrong with that! I waited about 15 minutes before I got my food. However, about 5 minutes after ordering, one of the employees called my name. I went over to the pick up counter, and the employee asked if I ordered the Family Value Pack. «Uhh no I didn’t order the Family,» I responded. It turned out the customer in front of me was ALSO named Derek. The other Derek was outside on his cell phone, but he went inside moments later to pick up his food. I told the employee I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. «It’ll be right out sir,» responded the employee. I wish the employee didn’t ask if I ordered the Family Value Pack otherwise I would have been going home with much more food than I expected. Then again, I wouldn’t want to screw the other Derek over by paying a lot for a simple bowl of Pad Thai. 5 minutes after that, a Best Buy employee named Veronica comes in and takes her order. Why did I mention her? Keep on reading… I finally got my food about 5 minutes after Veronica stepped into the restaurant. Erick immediately remembered it was I who ordered the Pad Thai. I thanked him, and he just responded with a monotonous«No problem.» No «have a good day» or anything of the like. Just a «no problem.» I went to get a cup of hot sauce, Chinese hot mustard, premium soy sauce, a fork, a spoon, and a couple of napkins. As I was walking out of the restaurant, Veronica’s food was ready. It took them 15 minutes to get my order ready, but only 5 minutes for the other two customers, one of whom ordered the Family Value Pack??? I don’t see how that’s possible… The Pad Thai was pretty good though, but only because I added some hot sauce and Chinese hot mustard to it. If I hadn’t added those two, it would have been too bland for me to eat. Unfortunately, the good-tasting Pad Thai isn’t quite enough for me to bump this review up to a 3. It stays as a 2, but it’s one of the better 2’s I’ve ever given on Unilocal. I may come back at a different time on a different day just to see if I get a different crew and to see if their customer service skills are better.

I’ve never had an issue with fast food Chinese, I’m a fan of panda and some mom and pop shops. I’ve had pick up stix before and enjoy their house tofu. My issue with this location is service. The food was as good as it’s going to get when you order pick up stix, and I’m not expecting world class service… but I sat at a table waiting for my food for 25 min! I thought this was fast food? To top it off when she brought my food out she said she would be right out with our appetizer egg rolls. So much for a pre meal appetizer!.. I got half way through my food and still no egg rolls. I walked over to the counter and got an apology/excuse of how busy they were and that the egg rolls would be out soon. There weren’t too many people in the place, so I’m guessing they had lots of phone orders. When I went to ask for my box and bag for my left overs I got another«egg rolls will be out In a min!»… I wanted to just ask for my money back but I really didn’t want to be «that person»… So I took my crazy hot egg rolls and threw them in my To go box. This is the saddest Chinese food experience I’ve ever had.

FOOD: 3.5 /5 I ordered General Tso’s Chicken(which came with white race), an order of crab rangoons, and an egg roll(vegetable). –General Tso’s Chicken: Nice sized portion. Hot, fresh, and with amazing sauce. My only complaint is related to the size of the chicken pieces; it seemed as if each piece was mostly breading vs meat(which is in contrast to those big chunky pieces of chicken we’re used to experiencing from free samples in food courts at the mall). –Vegetable Egg Roll: The inside filling was amazing. As was the case in the complaint mentioned above, the size of the spring roll was disappointing. –Crab Rangoons: The cream cheese filling was rich and tasteful; encased in a hot fried outside shell cooked with a perfect crunchy texture! PRICE: 4⁄5 For both the amount of food and quality, the price was very reasonable. SERVICE: 4⁄5 The cashier was very polite while ringing me up. She also brought out my food and made sure I had everything we needed before leaving. VIBE: 4⁄5 Clean(literally), cool, and contemporary; the interior color scheme screams absolute food psychology! Bright red and orange walls pop out of you immediately, combined with a mix of stainless steel appliances, light tile, black accents, and recessed lighting.

This place is disgusting. I’ve eaten here a few times just to be fair, but this is not Chinese food. You could barely call it food. The last time I was here I ordered kung poa beef with white rice, to go. When I got home, I saw that they had given me brown rice. Ugh! And I couldn’t even eat the beef. First of all there were only a few pieces of beef in there and the whole thing was a big black, salty, globby mess. The sauce was so thick and sticky that everything stuck together and you couldn’t tell what was what. I don’t understand how this place stays in business. I paid $ 10 for nothing. Ugh! If you want a decent substitute, go to panda express. It’s pretty good and much cheaper. If you want real Chinese/Asian food drive down South St. to Cerritos/Artesia area. There are so many good Asian food in that area. Here’s a few: –Gen Korean bbq –Yojie’s shabu shabu –Kabuki Sushi –Chung King Chinese –Phở Tasty –Sweetee Thai(yes, that’s how they spell it there) –Great Seafood Harbor(go there for dim sum) –Sam Woo There are lots other. Plenty of good Indian food as well, since Little India is just right there.

Its like Carl’s Jr, or their neighbor, Corner Bakery… the half-breed style restaurant. Its like Fast Food in that you have to order up at the counter, but then the waitress will bring it out to your table based on that little plastic number. The food is freshly made. There is a TV inside. The seating is my main complaint. If you don’t want to sit up high on bar-stool type chairs, then you’re doomed to sit close to the restrooms. The TV is posted directly between the male & female restroom doors, so that is the focal point of the dining area. There is no blockage, so whenever someone opens the door, you see(and smell) directly inside the restroom.

All I can say is wow. I’m not sure what this food is but to call it Chinese or kinda Chinese is way off base. This is not like calling Taco Bell, Mexican food because at the very least Taco Bell has the price going for it. Where has my Garlic Chicken gone? Where is my Sweet and Sour soup that was my bachelor time staple for getting over a cold. I mean, it took a touch of additions, but at least the base was done and tasted pretty good on its own. On the side of the chicken, a solid 80% of the menu is fried just like orange chicken. This is how they describe it if you ask if the item is battered and fried. «Oh, just like Orange chicken», unacceptable. The only items that are not battered and fried are the Kung Pao and House Special. Well, stupid, sickly me orders the house special and small wonton soup in my weakened condition. Ugh, House special. I should have asked whose or whats house this was a special at. Looking at it, it was literally kibble and wee chunks of over sauced chicken. Are you kidding me? It was like soaked crumbled, chicken meatloaf. Unappetizing and unlike any asian food I have had. Wonton soup? Maybe its just me but I thought wonton comes with stuff within it and not just a noodle that is bunched up in the middle. There were two«wontons» in the soup with no «ton» of the«won» if you get my meaning. Add the cost of $ 11 for a lunch to the mix and you get a very unhappy customer and Unilocaler. Still trying to figure out what kind of food it was. Came with rice, so asian-esque… and what do you do with the stix once you pick them up? You have changed, I think less of you for it.
