While mattress and futon shopping, I was happy to experience great customer service at the Lake Zurich, IL American Mattress store. Sales manager, Jeremy was knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the differences between mattresses and encouraged us to take our time in making our decision. They offered free 7 day a week delivery, and arranged our sale so my purchases could be sent to different addresses. I give Jeremy and his store an A+.

Matress shopping is one of things that you don’t really plan on until you wake up with horrible back pain one day, and then you need one NOW. I stumbled in past 8pm and Jeremy was patient with helping me make the right purchase decision. Delivery was made next day. Happy with the purchase and service!

Well this experience just sealed the deal on my opinion of sales people. The regional sales manager at this location, Jeremy R, should get an award for being a snake. After putting up with his annoying scheme for thirty minutes, and then yelling at us as we were walking out of the door that he was going to give us a better deal so we said okay fine. So when we the delivery guy calls to bring us the mattress today he informs us that now we don’t get a box spring? We paid the price for the set, granted he had given us a good deal, but to then sneakily pull the box spring out is just down right dirty. Then the delivery driver who was incredibly kind and understanding tried to call the salesman, who then told him we were misunderstanding and that it was never part of the deal. So, you were going to give me a mattress at the tag price without the box spring before to? Needless to say we will not be taking the mattress without the box spring and will not be returning or ever recommending that someone else go through this with them.

I have a 3 year old. My 3 year old had a bed and then we moved. Being the brilliant logician that I am, I decided we would get bunk beds. What a bad idea that turned out to be! Said 3 year old likes to sleep in mine and my husband’s bed. I don’t think our bed is more comfortable than his, I just think it has the perception of being more comfortable. But, as they say in politics, perception is reality. We had to get the kid out of our bed. So we found ourselves in American Mattress about a week after we moved into our new house. We visited once. We visited twice. We visited three times. The proprietor was fantastic. He’s friendly, he’s clean shaven. He looks like the one time high school football star of that school you went to but don’t quite remember the name of. Since my husband looks like the one time defensive end from that one high school you played, they got along great. And he has kids. So the 3 year old bouncing around on the mattresses, and begging for a balloon, was handled quickly and with aplomb. When he met our newborn, he was sweet but didn’t do the lean too close and breathe in her face thing that makes me feel like the person I don’t know has now shared all of their germs with her. He was low pressure. The first time we left with a card. The second time with a box spring for our bed. The third time we left with a new futon for our son which — as of this writing — he is sleeping in (instead of our bed), as our daughter sleeps in her crib. Since I’m about to think about going to lay in my bed with my husband, I’m pretty happy. And I have to tell you. I love American Mattress in Lake Zurich.
