DONOTTRUSTTHISPLACEIFYOUHAVEFOODALLERGIES. The food is decent BUT if you have special needs, do not trust them to listen to you. I have Celiac’s and while they offer really great gluten free options, it’s hit or miss as to whether they’ll actually give you your meal GF or whether they’ll either forget, misunderstand, or disregard your request all together. It’s been multiple times now that my «gluten free wraps» have been in a flour tortilla. I stress the gluten free part but the person taking my order usually seems annoyed, and then ends up messing up even though I tell them I have a severe allergy. Don’t advertise gluten free products if you cannot guarantee that customers will get them! Totally irresponsible and unprofessional.

If the waitresses look like they are high on drugs… They ARE high on drugs. Literally. Coke mostly. They do them in the bathroom and their cars. I’ve seen it and the manager doesn’t care, as long as they keep paying their dues to the busboys and work for tiny wages and long hours. They also like to eat food off your plate snacking on the hot plates that come out of the kitchen when it’s done. Watch your soup… actually don’t order any. Trust me. I’ve seen the horror. Health inspectors should have been there. If you order anything just order a grilled chicken cesar salad but make sure you ask for fresh lettuce and fresh grilled chicken(not sitting around for a day and a half). If you get that and the waitress doesn’t spit in your food, you’ve got a pretty standard salad. The burgers are blechhhhh too, not as good as the Seaport diner!(Just down the road a bit by dunkin donuts! Port jeff) please save your money for that place. Great waitstaff and even better food! Don’t believe? Go Unilocal! The a-hole that owns this place should be ashamed but hes not hes a big tall jerk with a very short«manager» friend. Both look the part. Go to SEAPORT!

Always amazing every time I go. Breakfast, lunch or dinner. The only thing I hate about this place is that although it’s spacious inside — it packs out! Especially on weekends but I’m lucky enough to work down the road so I order out whenever I’m having a craving

I stopped here for a light dinner last night and I was pretty disappointed. I liked the diner look and retro vibes but the food and service was subpar. I partly blame myself for ordering the nova scotia benedict(salmon and eggs benedict) from a diner that’s typically known for burgers and fries and milkshakes. My eggs and salmon were too salty and the potato was literally burned. The service was average(although I did tip generously). I just wanted to note that the forks and knives looked pretty dirty(they were sitting on the table and not on the napkin). Also there weren’t any tissue dispensers on the table which was kind of annoying. Overall, I’ll probably return here to have their specialty(burgers!) since it’s fairly close to Stony Brook University.

Never dissapointed. Salads are outstanding. Service is always good. Everyone I know loves this diner. Best one that I know of. They have everything you can possibly think of on the menu. If you’re vegan like me, no worries. My family loves it here. I personally prefer it over a lot of restaurants! Anything you are hungry for… they will have or make for you!

Stopped in for a quick dinner and quick it was! Food came out in about five minutes. Ordered a cheeseburger with mushrooms and it was cooked perfectly. Server was nice and attentive and the diner was cozy. Would recommend if in the area.

Gluten Free options, spotless! Clean bathrooms, Even the corners by the Windows are dust free and if the dinning room is kept that way, the kitchen must be immaculate. Good food. Good service.

My favorite diner in the world. Great soups, great BLT great pork chops great staff and management great service. The only thing I once got that I didn’t like was the Greek salad. I had to chop up my own lettuce. Really? pea soup and clam chowder great. Coffee very good. This diner doesn’t disappoint.

Lake Grove Diner might be the GO-TO diner in the area, especially for Stony Brook students. This diner definitely has your typical diner look on the outside and a bit of a retro 50’s look on the inside. I usually go here for breakfast and I am never disappointed. The breakfast platters are the BEST. I tend to get the corned beef hash which brings a side(fries are my fave!), toast, and eggs any way. I always order a cup of coffee to go with my meal(free refills) or whenever I’m just in the mood for diner coffee. Besides weekend, it’s never usually packed and the items on the menu won’t break the bank. Service can either be a hit or miss. Lake Grove Diner is bae… when it comes to diners.

Oh how I love a good cheeseburger deluxe! This is the place for one. Freshly made and tastes amazing. Waitstaff was very friendly, service was quick and efficient and 100% accurate. This place is usually very busy however, because of its size can accommodate large crowds, I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes for a table. Very clean establishment!

Typical diner fare. My tip is to get the fries. If I only just got the fries, I think I’d have a good lunch. For the breakfast enthusiast, I’d recommend the stuffed french toast, assuming you’re looking for a reason to progress your diabetes. Sandwiches are meh. Still prefer this place over other diners because the wait is shorter here. 3.5 star average over the two trips I’ve made here.

I’ve lived on Long Island my whole life so I’m accustomed to the high pricing on food that could be better, but this place takes the cake. All the food is a solid«meh» out of ten and costs more than it would be at any other diner. The menu is a complete mess, what’s the difference between«munchies» and«appetizers?» Why are sandwhiches spread out among three different pages? It’s an actual nightmare if you know what you want because it’s as if you’re looking for stephen king novel amongst r.l.stine books. The waiters are generally forgetful and take very long to come around, only coming to check on you every minute or so once your food arives so they can get their tip money and usher you out. Even when the resturaunt is generally desolate. I’ll be moving my business down to the suffolk diner.

Stopped in for breakfast, the waitress was friendly and helpful. I had 2 eggs with potato and ham and rye toast. Everything was cooked well, the ham wasn’t something I would every order again. Decent food, okay prices, good for a quick breakfast.

Open 24 hours, these guys have just about anything you could want. Their menu is huge. This is an old-school diner experience with the booths and waitresses running around with coffee, but their menu is very up to date with things like Challah french toast with nutella. We had a large crowd, but the staff was super accommodating. Service was fast, though there were a few hiccups on the orders. Definitely a great place whenever the munchies hit you.

Excellent diner. I stopped here twice when I was in town and had great service and even better food. Their Monte Cristo was huge! I wasn’t expecting such a hearty portion, especially for the low price. Service was quick and very friendly.

I love going to diners for breakfast. Normally you get a decent sized breakfast for a great price. Once in a while you stumble upon a diner who screws breakfast up. Lake Grove Diner is such a place that screws your breakfast up. I normally order the same breakfast everywhere I go. 2 eggs over easy with bacon, hash, and white toast. The eggs were cooked well. The bacon was good too. The hash browns sucked big time. The toast? Lemme tell you about the toast. It reminded me of the toast my grandma used to make. You know you had grandma’s toast. Burnt to a blackness hell but she takes a spoon and scrapes off all the black shit? Looks ok but still tastes burnt as hell? Unbelievable. The orange juice, oh lord I couldn’t drink it. I tried trust me. I needed something to wash down my burnt toast. I don’t know where they get their oranges but they shouldn’t serve them in a glass. Disgusting. Service was great however. They get one star for the food and an extra for my friendly, attentive, and professional waiter.
