Have to laugh at the people who are mad about receiving steak/other real food that wasn’t amazing. If you go to a touristy, beach side place like the Boardwalk then please just do yourself a favor and order bar food. If the bar food is shitty, go ahead and complain, but remember where you’re eating. And look at the menu/prices before you go. It’s not that difficult. We got calamari to start, & for dinner I got a chicken sandwich sans bun, and my boyfriend got fish and chips. Everything was fine — nothing to write home about — it was just what we were looking for after a long night of walking around and getting in from the city earlier in the day. This was our most expensive meal during our vacation though which was pretty funny considering the other places we went to & what we ate(I think $ 80 pre-tip, including our 4 beers), however that’s what you get when you last minute go to the quickest Unilocal suggestion near you! The view is pretty — would probably come back just for beers if we’re in the area again.

When you’re playing«tourist» in Lake George, a waterfront restaurant is pretty much a staple of visiting. One that I haven’t visited in all the years I’ve been there is the Boardwalk Restaurant. Now I have and I am pleasantly surprised. We started off with the chicken wings for an appetizer. We wanted to see if anybody outside of Buffalo, NY can match the quality of wings. I can say safely that these guys did it right. They were indeed meaty & jumbo. We had the smoky BBQ and it was coated just right. It wasn’t dripping in sauce, but it wasn’t too dry. The wings had this light coating that wasn’t distracting, but actually enhanced the wings. Very well done. I had a stuffed burger which was excellent. Burgers can be standard fare unless you put your own little flair to it. Boardwalk did it right. My wife had the pulled pork reuben. It was definitely better than average. There’s always room for improvement, but pricing was good, taste was very good, and the view was outstanding. They sat us right by the overlook. It will definitely be a repeat visit this year for us.

This place deserves less then one star. I went here for dinner. The chicken was cold, they mixed up the orders and forgot to bring drinks for us. Terrible experience.

We went here during the car show weekend and were very impressed by the location because it is right in town and situated on the lake. It took about 15 minutes for our drinks to come out. My stuffed bacon Gorgonzola burger was great, but the pulled pork sandwich was dry. The crab cakes that they are supposedly famous for were not very good and had mostly all breadcrumbs and little crab. The place was kid friendly and the kids food was fine. Would probably go back for the view but only get drinks/apps.

My experience here was overall good because our server was very friendly and helpful and the view was spot on! I was extra happy because on Thursdays at 9:30PM there are fireworks and we were right in front of the show. As for the food we ordered Clam Strips, A Classic Burger, and Butterfly Shrimps. To be honest, I have nothing to say about any of these. They were all just mediocre. It tasted like any other chain type of restaurant although this may not be a chain, but it tasted like one of those Applebee’s type of average foods. My boyfriend and I did enjoy the drinks though! :) If I could, I would give this place a 2.5, but I rounded it up to 3 stars because of the exceptional location and for our good server.

Best food I had on my recent trip to Lake George! The restaurant was right next to where we found parking for the day, so we thought we might give it a try. We sat in their open air, roofed dining room, which was actually my only complaint, as the ceiling was in need of cleaning, and the only wall hanging in the restaurant, a stuffed possum, was right above our table. The service was prompt and very attentive, and our server even gave us recommendations for the best dishes! I decided on fish and chips. Great choice! The Cod was so fresh tasting you almost thought they fished it right out of the lake. The batter was thick and crispy, a little greasy, but it is fried after all! The fries, «chips» rather, we’re delicious, and not to be confused with their home made potato chips which were also great! A wonderful meal all together, would absolutely go again!

The view was ideal for the Thursday night fireworks that were displayed on the lake. It couldn’t have been better! The service was average, friendly & prompt like most restaurants but nothing that stood out. The food came out quickly but is wasn’t good at all; it was bland and undercooked. The only saving grace was the low cost of the food which was expected given the quality.

This place was sub par. I wouldn’t come back. The view was excellent however the waitress was boring and inattentive. She acted like she was Jesus for going downstairs to get us fresh tomato soup because they were out upstairs. The Caesar salad was eh, croutons looked like they came out of a bag. Their crab cakes tasted like they had been eaten and then thrown up again, pair that with the styrofoam texture and you’ve got 1 star.

Great view of the lake. We came at night so we could see the city all lit up, what a treat! The food was pretty basic bar bites with reasonable prices. I ordered the clam strips and they were really accommodating about adding a salad instead of fries. Would come again.

Alright let’s start off with the essentials the calamari. The calamari tasted like it had a fried loaf of bread with a side of butter on each ring. Let’s say the fish and chips needed some more fish. In the long run though I got a bare naked and watched some fireworks from an amazing view.

Lovely view but have no idea about the food since we didn’t even see a server. Waited about 20 minutes but nobody even took our drink order. Table next to us was in the same boat and they got up to leave at the same time as us. I could see a bit of a delay if it was busy but not at 12 on a Tuesday afternoon. Enjoyed a great pizza at Pizza Jerk instead.

They really need to clean the ceilings! My only complaint is that there were not only a ton of bugs above you while you ate but also a ton of spiders. Thankfully; we didn’t notice them until we were almost done eating when one spider decided to make its way down. Their ceiling is gross — and I freaked. Even a baby spider made it onto our table as I paid. My grandson and I loved our food. The tator tots with raspberry Melba were awesome! I got the Chicken Saltimbocca Sandwich and he the hotdog meal. They had live entertainment on the deck as we ate. I recommend highly but only if they cleaned up the bugs/lights — mainly the spiders and webs that are very noticeable.

This was BAD. The location is great and the view by the lake is breath taking HOWEVER the food was lacking tons of flavor. We ordered crab cakes which came with fries and coleslaw. The crab cakes tasted like nothing I have tasted before: almost no crab meat and more batter. We unfortunately presented a complaint to the waitress who then must have called the owner or manager. He asked what was wrong and it was tough to say that those patties simply didn’t taste anything like a crab cake. We also had a family behind us who had ordered fish and they also presented a complaint. The manager explained that the crab patties had been made the same day, but it wasn’t about freshness it was about quality. I have seen great reviews about the restaurant so I would say visit at your own discretion. Maybe this wasn’t our lucky day at Lake George.

Great lunch on the lake. Bloody Mary was one of the best I’ve ever had! Calamari was solid and our group of 15 was treated very well by the staff.

The most horrible fish taco I’ve ever ate. No taste, it’s just a piece of fried fish and some shredded cabbage top with mayonnaise sauce that’s it! Yikes!!!

This is in the heart of Lake George. Parking can be found on the street for coins. There are plenty of seating by the water. When we went there was live music. This is a place where you can bring your date or celebrate special moments/occasions. Awesome view and experience. Why 4 stars? The price is right but the food is okay. The service is fast and okay, not extraordinary.

This was sub-par and there are so many better options on the lake. You should probably look into those instead. 2.5 stars overall. Let’s begin with the positives: The view! Oh boy the view! Lake George is really pretty and you can sit outside and take in a panoramic view of the lake either at the boat dock or at the bar. The boat dock is above a gasoline station for boats so it stinks of fuel and can be noisy but to enjoy one drink, in the sun it’s a nice spot. The bar inside also has a great view. The meh: The food was just okay. I had a salmon burger and it was a little chewy for my liking. The sweet potato tots were very Midwestern and tasted great on the other hand. My friend had a chicken sandwich and she said it was very good. It’s standard bar food but selections are mostly fish and crab. The bad: Service I could look past mediocre food if service was exceptional, or even good. The first thing my friend said to me when we sat down was«the bartender does not want to be here». It took forever to order a drink then it took longer to get a menu from the bartender. He just wasn’t into it that day. We all have bad days so whatever. I’ll let it slide since it was a one time event for me and I probably won’t be back because I am not in this area much. Food came out quickly and we were served quickly when we wanted to go sit outside. Tips: — there are statues outside the bar from a folk artist. Those are cool I would skip this but I’m leaving three stars because there is no way to leave 2.5.

Seldom do I ever complain about poor service… I grew up in Manhattan Chinatown, and am quite accustomed to it. However, this is truly the first time the source of poor service came from the person who seemingly was the manager of the establishment. With the food being bad as well, the only thing this place has got going for it is the view. The steak I ordered medium rare came out somewhere between medium well and well-done, so I sent it back. Usually when I want dry, chewy meat, I buy a bag of beef jerky instead. The manager returend with the same steak and brusquely told me I was wrong. Okay, thanks for educating me, I’ll be sure to go back to Peter Luger’s, Del Frisco’s, Wolfgang’s, and the other 15 or so NYC steakhouses I’ve eaten at, and let them know they’ve been cooking my steaks wrong all this time. Then send them to you for lessons. Anyway, no correction was made. The manager would not relent, despite the fact that«medium rare» steak looked identical in terms of doneness to one of my dining companions’ «medium well» steak. Needless to say, I did not enjoy my food here… at least a bag of beef jerky has better flavoring.
