We had a great experience. We stayed at The Cove, the attached hotel, so this was an easy choice. The hotel also gave us a 10% off for food coupon as we checked in, so that was a nice bonus. My son had the grilled chicken and fries. The chicken was excellent. He devoured it. The fries tasted a bit like onion rings, not sure if they have a rub for them or if they fry them together, we like onion rings so it was okay for us. My husband and I shared the Nachos with beef. They were very good. The cheese was real cheese, so it seemed, not out of a can. I would order them again. We indulged in some of their brews as well. My husband really enjoyed the Hefeweizen and I liked the Fire Light the best, but if you like Corona, you should try their Mexican beer, it was good as well. My son ordered a root beer float, he had never had pop before and found it ‘too spicy’ so the waitress was really kind to switch it for their Orange Dream. He really liked that one, and it was nice of her to do. We will make this a must stop on any future trips to Lake Geneva, the menu will be fun to explore.

We stopped here for early dinner on a Saturday. I had never been here, but I’ve had their Root Beer before. After looking at their menu for a very long time, and seeing some interesting dishes, I went with a top sirloin and beer cheese soup. The waitress was very helpful and returned my steak to the grill because it was still mooing. After that, it was pretty good. I just wish they would have reheated the beer cheese potatoes as well. They were cold. The beer cheese soup was delicious! I practically drank it straight from the cup. Back to the root beer. After taking a drink, I was reminded of the last time I tried their root beer. It was bottled and bought at the store the last time, and I noticed it had an odd smell and aftertaste to it. It smells like a moldy sponge. I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this, because I haven’t read other reviews yet, but this must be normal for this brand because it tastes exactly the same in the restaurant. I didn’t complain about it. I drank it anyway, figuring it probably wouldn’t kill me. Although I do remember throwing out a couple bottles the last time, thinking it was a bad batch or something. I don’t recommend this root beer at all. Overall, I give the food 3 stars, but the service was 5 stars.

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. I got the Jaggerschnitzel with beer cheese mashed potatoes and a mug of their Root Beer(My favorite, I buy it at the store all the time) which was fantastic. Girlfreind Got the Cheese Curd Pub Burger which was also great and her daughter got the kids Jr. Cheese burger and fries with a Cherry cola. Great food and a great time. It is a bit pricey but it is worth it for a nice night out or go for lunch when they have the lunch specials.

Pretty good food. Surprised the curd burger was much smaller than the menu photo, but it still had a lot of flavor. They have great onion rings. Their root beer is ok, not great, just ok. Good service too. But not great.

Great food & service was awesome. We had the ribeye steak with the mashed potatoes and it was excellent. We were originally planning on going to a higher end restaurant but this ended up being a great choice. Upscale place without the upscale restaurant cost. Our family of 4 ate for under $ 100 and two of us had the ribeye steak and mashed potatoes. We will now make this our go too restaurant when we come out to Geneva. Bonus: Everything is made fresh from scratch! They can customize your meal to your needs.

Sunday Happy Hour is the best. Discount apps and draft beers make this an easy place to catch the Bears game. Try the Reuben bites, you won’t be disappointed.

I would say the food here is below average but I would be in the minority according this places track record of reviews. I had a soup that was average in both taste and temperature and the burger was on par with what I expected of a pub burger. I would say it is good but there are lots of places to try in Lake Geneva.

ATHENAROCKSTHECASBA Culinary awesomeness served by a Athena who exemplifies multi-tasking. They asked us to join their Grub Club! That is all kinds of Country Club-esque. We’ll be baaaack!

First time in this place. Root beer was good. Also had the brew pub burger which was very filling. First time having cheese curds… those were good! Quesadillas were good but a little spicy. My boyfriend had the sausage trio and loved it! He also had the triple abbey beer and got turnt up. haha. Overall, he really loved the place. Friendly staff and very nice glassware.

Not my favorite. The service was alright. We had a nice young server and she was on top of it. The food is another story. We ordered some pub pretzels, and they were pretty good. A few different mustards to dip them in, and a sort of cheese sauce. I’m not sure if the cheese sauce was supposed to be warm, so it was liquid — or what, but it wasn’t working out… Then we shared a burger. It came and the bun looked like it had been smashed under a book or something. It had a toasted bun, but the bun was cold. Not cold like toasted a few hours ago, then set out — but cold like out of the fridge… kind of weird. There were supposed to be onion straws on the burger. And there were. 2 of them. Then, as a side we got some cheesy potatoes. There was absolutely NO flavor of any kind to the potatoes. No cheese flavor. No potato flavor… no flavor of any kind… So we asked her to bring us some sweet potato fries. When they got there they were absolutely cold. Must have been cooked the day before — I swear. She brings us another order– which she swore JUST came out from being cooked. Better, but not much. This is the constant problem when you go up to Lake Geneva. Most of the restaurants rely only on the tourist population, and really don’t care about providing good food– as they have a constant flow of customers. It’s too bad, because it’s such a beautiful place.

Well the cherry cola was really good. I had two bottles. The pretzel appetizer was really good. I was so fresh like it just came out of the oven. Yum. It came with three dipping sauces. My favorite was the root beer mustard sauce. I ordered pulled pork. I didn’t like the pulled pork. It was dry and the sauce was on the side so the flavor of the meat was tasteless. The salmon was such a small piece it wasn’t worth $ 18. The service was really good. The waitress was extremely friendly. Very attentive to our needs.

Nice family restaurant. I had a big salad and enjoyed an adult root beer — tasty. The service was great and food was good.

I just have to get this off my chest… this place makes the list! I started with a beer flight anticipating 6 choices, but when I saw the size of the glasses I quickly downgraded to 3. Hefeweizen, Scottish ale, and the IPA2… all were great! My fav was the Scottish ale as I was amazed at the smoky flavors! If I didn’t have 3+ hours drive to get home I would have tried the flight of every single beer on tap! I ordered the«curd burger» with the cheese potatoes. The burger was perfectly cooked, and complimented by the beer cheese sauce and crispy onion rings. The potatoes lacked flavor, but my bartender quickly remedied the situation with a shot of beer cheese soup over the top… outstanding! I couldn’t leave this joint without sampling the root beer, and before I knew it I was ordering the 3minis for dessert. Root beer, cream soda, and cherry cola, each topped with creamy vanilla ice cream. All were great, but the cream soda vanilla ice cream was the highlight… Did I mention this one makes the list?!?

So, I have two different reviews for Sprecher’s, one for lunch and one for late night drinks. One star for the restaurant. Five stars for the bar. Lunch: we arrived about 1:30. The place was pretty empty. Service was okay, I think our server was in training so he kept having to go ask others questions. He also disparaged the food — everything we asked about he had some negative comment about. Strange. I had a hamburger and fries. I’m not sure if they grind their own burgers, but whoever did ground the beef way too fine. The burger was mushy. The fries were a little greasy, but they tasted okay. My wife had a turkey Reuben with fries. I had their draft root beer, which was fantastic. After we left, both of us started feeling sick. We decided that there must have been something wrong with the oil in the fryer since the fries the only thing we had in common. I don’t think we’ll eat there again. One star for the restaurant. The Bar: five stars. I wrote a review for another bar in Lake Geneva that had $ 3.50 Long Island Iced Teas, but there was little or no alcohol in the drinks. Here, they were $ 4.00 and WOW they packed a punch. The bartender was really great. She knew her stuff. In fact, she told us she created some of their signature drinks. I do recommend the bar at Sprecher’s.

It was A-OK! Five stars for the pulled pork sandwich. It was slow cooked, the sauce was deliciously sweet and topped with gouda cheese. A really nice flavor combination. Five stars for the great service. Our waitress was sweet and super attentive. Just say no to the onion rings. I was also super bummed that the cheese curds were just okay. Honestly I thought they would be amaze-balls since I was in Wisconsin, but nope. I think the cheese curd batter had beer in it, which gave it a nice flavor, but they were a little too crispy for my liking. I prefer them to be ooey and gooey. Get the fries. Get the root beer, because… well…it’s Sprecher’s! My hubby ended up ordering a veggie sandwich on a wrap. It’s their recipe with corn in it, and he was beyond impressed. He said he’d certainly get it again. My boys ordered the chicken off the kids menu and were stuffed! In fact, they are nine and really hearty eaters! So, take note that the kids menu is a good value. Also, see the great side offerings for kids in my uploaded photo. Overall, Sprecher’s is a good backup for a big menu and lots of seating so you don’t have to wait. It’s connected to The Cove hotel, and easily accessible to the lake and downtown. Great for families who need variety. Vegetrian-friendly! Three stars instead of four, because we spent $ 50+ for four people. I just didn’t feel the value.

I have eaten here since they first opened and am pleased that they have consistently offered solid food and great beers. The menu is routinely updated adding new seasonal options. The good. The numerous beers on tap made by the brewery in Milwaukee. And for the kiddies they have multiple flavored sodas and root beer. Favorite food right now is the curd burger. Pub tacos are a stable(fish version) Outdoor patio is fab in summer with a Great Lake view. Service is above average. The blah. Bathrooms are next door in cove hotel hallway. Pool is below so always smells of chlorine in hallway. Not appealing if I am eating. The funky. Get a Sprechers griffin bird hat to upgrade your attire. Or tell them it’s for your niece and take it home. What I miss. Former managers used to have special multi course dinners you could sign up for at least every month or so. Randy Sprecher even showed up for a special firkin tapping event. And they sent more cool offers for Pub Club members like get a boot of beer during snow storms for a discounted price. Ah the good old days.

The food here was first class. We got the Thai lettuce wrap(delish), the fish and chips(good stuff), and the gnocchi with short ribs(inspiring). Our first stop in this outstanding establishment was the bar where our bartender Mikey went above and beyond his call of duty to provide us with a bottle opener for our«to go» beer even though we didn’t need one(they were twist offs.) Daniel, our busboy, … wait. or was it his twin brother Fernando? At any rate, he was supremely efficient-clearing our table before we even knew what was happening. He was quiet and kind, everything you would want in a busboy. Last, but most certainly not least, was our lovely accessorized waitress Hunter, was absolutely fantastic from the moment she spoke with us. She made sure that we were happy and management went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. We will be sure to make this a regular stop on our trips to Lake Geneva :)

Came in here twice on a vacation. Love that they serve their own craft beer — I sampled three of them and they were all good. Great variety, although they seemed to be running out of several of their beers. Great location on the lake — looking out over the water was great. Service was pretty quick in both the bar and at a table. Food wasn’t as fast to come out, but not bad. Prices were good enough for the resort location. When I sat at the bar they had specials that were great. Had a chicken sandwich that was good, but not great. The chicken could have used more flavor, whether through marinading or seasoning. It was a pretty thick chicken breast — well cooked, but when it’s thick it’s hard to give it enough flavor. Overall good though, and the sweet potato fries were very good. Definitely a place I’d make sure to come whenever I’m here because of the great beer and food!

Great place! I would like to come back because the dishes I have seen coming out makes me want to try more! Great pub food and beers! I like the beer flight where you can try several of them. Burgers were huge and juicy! Jambalaya had lots of sausage, chicken and shrimp. Tasted very good. It was not at all spicy. Service was great and they were very busy.

I’m not sure what happened when we went to Sprechers, but it was a real disappointment. I’ve been to the one in the Dells, and remember it being so much better. The service was sad. The employees seemed to want to be anywhere but there. I started with an Irish Crème Soda, which used cheap liquor and totally killed the flavor of the soda. Next we did the fried cheese curds. They were dry and almost flavorless, but thanks to the multiple dipping sauce options they were fine. My hamburger was completely overcooked, but the waitress never came back to ask how anything was so I sucked it up and ate it. It was a greasy mess, dripping in fat. If I hadn’t skipped breakfast and been starving(figuratively, of course. It wouldn’t kill me to miss a meal here or there), I probably would’ve left most of it. The beer cheese potatoes were the star of the show. Tasty. Flavorful. Nice texture. The only thing I liked at the joint. Big disappointment. Servers who don’t care and just want to get you in and out cuz they’ll probably never see you again. Bad food. Lame. Tourist trap.
