After some disappointing bloody marys at Harry’s, we decided to go with the ones voted best in Lake Geneva, so we ventured over to Popeyes. Half the group went with bloodies and the other half, banana daiquiris. As part of the daiquiri group, I can say they were amazing! Those that had bloodies, agreed they were better than the previous ones. Despite eating a large breakfast just a couple hours prior to the drinks, we ordered appetizers. Get their NACHOS!!! The perfect blend of melted cheese AND cheese sauce ratio per chip. We went with the chicken nachos over the steak ones. Seriously so good! The spinach artichoke dip was good though so complained too garlicky but I’m not a vampire so I wasn’t part of the too much garlic contingency. The in house made chips, on point. Cheese curds, we loved the presentation. They came in a mini deep fryer pan and my two year old niece loved it. Also speaking of kids, these place is so kid friendly! My niece wanted a scoop of ice cream and they brought out a small sundae for her. They also have coloring sheets and give kids fun visor hats. She got a bit restless and darted out from the table a few times. While I certainly don’t encourage her running around, the servers all seemed to be used to kids ruining everywhere because even with food, no one dropped anything or ran into anything. Our server was attentive and friendly.

Group of 8 with 2 kids and we were promptly seated. Crab Rangoon dip and cheese curds were delicious! The rotisserie chicken was juicy and very tasty. Great service. My only complaint is that they dont have honey mustard sauce, haha. Not sure why the rating is so low!

I came in with a large group for dinner. It is off-season, but still during dinner rush, and we were seated immediately. Our server Megan was very accommodating in splitting our checks for us, which other places don’t always do. I had the rotisserie chicken and it was amazing! Several of my friends had the burgers and enjoyed them. The mixed drinks were very good as well. For a group of twelve, our food came out fast– another plus. If I’m back in the Lake Geneva area, I will definitely stop in for a Spotted Cow and the rotisserie chicken.

Simply not worth the trip. Came in during the off season with a big group and was disappointed by everything. From the tacky nautical décor to the poor site lines to the food I can only describe as terrible. Service was acceptable but everything I tried wasn’t good. The garlic dip was raw garlic the crab dip was fishy and nasty the cheesecurds bland and greasy. I figured after that display a burger would be a safe bet as I’m not going to trust the fish here. Wrong-O! Overcooked unseasoned with nasty fake cheese spread… Yuck

I have been so disappointed the last few times I have been here. My favorite for years has always been the broccoli cheese soup and chicken nachos. Lately though the soup has come out a lot darker than usual, making me think that is not being made as fresh as before. The nachos have come out the past two times a pile of broken chips. I also always looked forward to the rolls. They were always crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. This time it was just a ball of dough. :/. My family has also had similar experiences. For the past 7 years we have bought tons of soup to take home for holiday dinner. This year however we skipped it for a better version of soup at Costco. So disappointed in the lack of care that has been put into their dishes. Such a shame since it used to be so much better.

Popeyes is a great place for families with kids. Fast service, lots of options. My go to for friends with kids when they come to visit. Boat parking available most of the time. Good bloody Mary’s, margaritas or cold beer. Favorite apps: Skordalia, baked Brie with shrimp, broccoli cheese soup. I always recommend rotisserie chicken or lamb, as its really uniquely roasted on premises. Otherwise, there are so many options, you can usually find something for most anyone… The downside: a bit pricey. It’s fast service can also seem a bit hurried, however great for families with kids…

This was our first time there. We went as a family group 5 adults and one youth. As this was post-season, the restaurant was not crowded. The view of the lake was nice. Our service was very pleasant but had a thick Eastern European accented English and some in our group found it difficult to place their order with her. We all received what we ordered. The food was decent but was not amazing in the least. I had a rack of ribs. Not much flavor, though they were tender. They do not smoke their ribs. I felt the cost was high for what we got. My ribs meal was ~$ 25. There are a LOT of places to try in Lake Geneva. I’d try another place before I come back to Popeye’s.

I hate to say this, but this place has really gone down the toilet. My family has been coming here for years and really used to enjoy their food. Now everything is so overpriced and the quality of the food has really gone down. My mother and I came for our annual mother daughter weekend that we have once a year in Lake Geneva. We went to most of the restaurants to have a drink and also an appetizer to split. We asked the hostess to be seated at the bar and she replied«sure just walk on up there yourself.» So we did, but when we got there the bar was full with no available seats, so when we went back down to ask to be seated, she gave us attitude and sat 3 other tables before us. When we finally got to sit down We ordered the bloody Mary’s which camr warm and with WAYYYY too much tomato juice. Who severs a warm Bloody Mary? For $ 9 you think they would be able to toss some ice in there * we each had about 3 little square of ice which dissolved in the first minute it arrived to the table * We ordered the nachos which we’re good at first, until we realized they only put ingredients on the top layer of chips… We had about 25 chips left with not even a little cheese on them! I will say I like that they added fresh red and green pepper, but that is about all I liked about this dish. We decided we will no longer be eating at Popeyes anymore since it has consistently been loosing value across the years but now it is safe to say it has hit rock bottom ;(

This placed was recommended to us as we enjoy the day at lake Geneva. It was very good, I enjoyed it quite a bit. the drinks in ordered were just okay but refreshing. For lunch I ordered the chicken breast sandwich on a pretzel bun with lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese with the side of fries. I found it rather delicious. My father ordered an entrée that came with a side of fries that were covered with cheese and bacon also very good. My mom got the stake nachos which were great as well. As an appetizer we had the spinach cheese dip. fantastic. Recommended by the waiter, who provided us with great service. We sat outside ans enjoyed our lunch!

I used to love this place… Atmosphere: It was pretty empty when I went on a weekend for dinner; nothing was roasting outside on the rotisserie/spit/BBQ area, waiter was a little pushy/obnoxious Food: way, way, way overpriced($ 8 for a CUP of soup!), very average food

Tourist Trap! Let’s see… my family came here for lunch. On the table we had: Salmon, Ribs, shrimp alfredo, chicken wings, Burger and mozzarella cheese sticks. Hmm. It’s average, nothing special and over priced. I don’t mind paying for a good quality of food but this just didn’t make the cut. Well A+ for location and flat A for service but other than that, if I come back to lake geneva, not sure if you’ll see me here again.

Great location just really over priced. The bbq pulled pork sandwich tasted good. The bbq sauce is really good but the chicken I ordered was bland and expensive! It didn’t even look appetizing. :(

Considering there are not many«nicer» restaurants in the area, this was our only reasonable choice for a group of 9. It reminds me of a Joe’s Crab Shack… but older. The pictures on the menu need some updating and actually makes their dishes look unappetizing. But I was pleasantly surprised with my meal. We shared cheese curds which were great and I took the safe route with a Caesar Salad. Others in the group ordered burgers, chx tenders, salads and all were all satisfied. The prices are a bit high for what you are getting but it’s not astronomical. It is safe to equatea meal here to that of a TGI Fridays/Chili’s. Nothing too fancy and gets the job done.

This restaurant has become a tradition for me and my family throughout the years of going up to lake geneva and going boating for the day. We do not necessarily come here because the food is all that amazing or reasonably priced, because it isn’t. It has a warm atmosphere and the service is good. Especially recently my family and I had a waitress by the name of Liz who was exceptional! However, besides their soup(my all time favorite being the lobster bisque) there isn’t much there that is all that good. I also enjoy their spinach artichoke dip but as fair as a main course dish, there isn’t anything I have found that I have fallen in love with. The price is also something that has caused me to rate so low. For just a cup of lobster bisque it is 7.00 which is ridiculous if you ask me. My boyfriend ordered a burger that was 19.00 and came with a bun that become soggy in under 5 minutes. I still do think it is worth checking out if the price isn’t a concern for you. The menu is incredibly extensive totaling 4 pages so it is almost impossible not to find something to eat. Just cross your fingers that it is good!

Popeye’s has been one of the best location restaurants in Lake Geneva for 35 years. We have been coming to eat from our teens, dancing at Olive Oyles and now in our 50’s. The restaurant is basically the same interior, which is cool — nice restaurant. Bad thing is they have definitely forgot how to make good food. The famous Broccoli Cheddar soup is now a warm paste. The appetizers cost as much as a meal. We ordered the«we peel, you eat“shrimp– it was pathetic. 12– 1» size, luke warm, wilted shrimp on a piece of lettuce for $ 14.99 — ridiculous. I was totally shocked. We have 3 drinks total, a sandwich and 2 soups and shrimp — $ 76.00. I will never ever tell anyone to go to this place again. Used to one of the best. All gone — Seriously someone is trying to save money and charge more for mediocre food. This is what happens when owners or buyers get greedy.

I like to hit the local happy tourist joint as much as the next guy, but this place is really pretty awful. First hint: when you sit down, they ask if you want a Mai-Tai(in lake Geneva Wisconsin). I have to imagine that over the past 25 years that they’ve been asking that, 98% of the people say they do not want a Mai Tai, yet they continue to blindly push them. This is one of those places that just warm up frozen foods rather than prep fresh food themselves. My teenage son literally stopped eating halfway through his fish and chips. The exception is the rotisserie meats, which is the only thing you should order if you end up here under protest. Good luck.

Came here with 2 other couples for a quick getaway. After, baking in the sun for a few hours, we worked up an appetite and came here. Pros: * Great location & convenient * Large portions of food * Service was decent but nothing to rave about. Cons: * Ridiculously priced for everything. We skipped on ordering drinks, since we had a cooler with our own back at our room. even still our bill came out pretty pricey. There’s other establishments with much better tasting food and much more reasonably priced… I’d suggest shopping around.

Absolutely a tourist trap b/c it’s across from the lake. Everything on the menu was pretty pricey. They do give you a lot of food(Burgers were huge), but the food tasted just alright. We came with a party of 9 and no one was impressed with the place, service or the meal. On the upside, they have a private parking lot with attendants, so you don’t have to spend time looking for parking, especially during an off time.

Love this place. Came with my dad and his girlfriend, and they come every Friday. We had a nice table by the window with a great view of the lake. We all started with the broccoli cheese soup and it was sooo good. Girlfriend and I had the Great Lakes Perch and daddy had the Jumbo Shrimp. Hey, it was Friday in Wisconsin, so of course we had fish fry! We all had wine and our wonderful server knew what wine and entrees girlfriend and daddy wanted. Patti is the wonderful Ambassador who goes around talking to all the guests and Peter always saves a handicapped parking space for my dad next to the restaurant! You rock!

Tourist trap Overall the value of dinner here for a small group during the off-season was really disappointing. We left questioning how our bill was so high when we consumed no tasty libations. The food itself was OK, the chicken nachos are huge and could have been shared between two. Service was prompt and friendly. If I was to stop back, it will be during the summer and I’d share chicken nachos and grab a drink for people watching… Guest Unilocaler comment: The food is great and the balloon person was amazing!
