I love the BBQ here and the wait staff are all friendly and good at what they do. I have had barbeque in Austin, Tx, North Carolina, and a few other states. I haven’t found anyone as good as Ken’s. Love the sauce! They have good corn nuggets, as well.

Just OK Saw some positive reviews about Ken’s as we were traveling on I-75. Always on the lookout for a good barbecue restaurant, we decided to give it a try. The look of the place, the menu offerings and the quality of the food was kind of like Sonny’s Barbecue, but not quite as good – sort of a Sonny’s light. Most everything was fine, nothing was particularly memorable. Service was pleasant enough but not very organized. Prices were fair. I’ll keep looking for a really good barbecue restaurant on I-75. iew helps others learn about great local businesses. Please don’t review this business if you received a freebie for writing this review, or if you’re connected in any way to the owner or employees.

Good local BBQ joint. Good garlic bread and pork sandwiches. Nice cold tossed salads are great as a side. Consistent good food but not incredible flavor. Add some hot BBQ sauce, salt, and their excellent local ranch dressing to add a little more flavor and that makes it pretty good. The service is nice and quick which is great for s working mans lunch. Local country style décor.

Out of the limited BBQ options in Lake City, I’d say this Ken’s location, is my favorite. That may be contrary to a previous review that I wrote for Cox BBQ, but honestly, I didn’t really care to double check. Anyways, I have been coming to this Ken’s for years, and I have yet to have a bad experience. The Steak Sandwich and BBQ Pulled Pork are two of my favorites. I do have to say that their Green Beans are awful, and obviously of the canned variety, there I said it. Stay away from their awful Green Beans. All in all, I do recommend Ken’s for BBQ in an area that is lacking in that department.

Awesome steak sandwich! Good onion rings that are very crispy. Only down side the place is always so cold when you leave I feel the need to thaw out.

Nothing special… reasonable prices, decent service & food came out really quick. This is the only BBQ joint I’ve ever been to that doesn’t have pulled pork. Food was good but greasy for BBQ. Won’t go out of our way to visit another one of these.

Ken’s is a good barbie-q restaurant, but not great. I got the pork lunch special and the meat was good but a bit fatty. The fries were, well, fries. Sweet tea is good and just a bit on the sweet side. Service was good and friendly and prices are pretty reasonable. All in all if you need BBQ it’s a lot better than Sonny’s.

This is obviously a local favorite. We met a family here that lives in Lake City and they were proud to have us check it out. This is a classic southern BBQ joint. Enjoy!

Ken’s Bar-B-Que in Lake City was the best barbeque and their sauce. Love this place, great place for wings and ribs! Very layed back with their nice atmosphere. The staff is really friendly and the service has always been fast. This place is a must if you want fresh and tasty food. We are so glad we found this gem.

The service was great and attentive. The ribs were tough and chewy, and the rest of the meal was unremarkable. As the caption next to 2 stars says, Meh. I’ve experienced better.

We were in a rush when we stopped by on a Thursday evening abut 5 pm — they were hopping. Parking lot in front and back were full. we were seated quickly and found the menu to be very affordable! Nice selection(I highly recommend the NY Strip Sandwich!!) Staff was very friendly and bathrooms were clean. From the time we were seated to served was 15 min. and we were back on the road shortly after that. Local love this place… if I was close I would definitely eat there more often. Others at our table were very please with their selections as well. Only sad thing for me is that they had run out of banana pudding… but that gives me a reason to return!

Came here on a weekday for lunch and had extremely friendly and fast service. I just wasn’t impressed with the BBQ, as my sandwich was dry and extremely ordinary. It has a very comfortable and homey environment, but the food is nothing to write home about… I felt the high rating was a little deceiving, but it is Lake City after all.

Some of the best okra this foodie has ever had. Pork sandwich wasn’t the greatest but my preference is chipped over sliced. BBQ sauce was good but I am a mustard based fanatic. Worth a trip for sure.

Another BBQ place that I have frequented since I was a child. There are three locations in Lake City only, from my understanding. And, most of those locations have been around for more than 30 years. So, next time you are driving down I-75 and are in the mood for some good saucy BBQ, give them a try. The location is right off of 441, and there is another location off of 90. Ken’s original house BBQ sauce is a distinct mustard/vinegar sauce that no one else has yet to match. It is not labelled as a mustard sauce, so don’t get it twisted. Seriously, it is the best BBQ sauce that I have ever had in my life. They still have yet to bottle and sell it. However, you can purchase it there and they will give you a large Styrofoam cup of it. It is great on anything, even just on some toast, but it pairs best with their smoked chicken. They have plenty of great items, but their best item is the smoked chicken. The skin is flavorful and sweet, and the chicken is tender and smoked for a long time so most of the fat has melted away. Don’t be one of those losers that just orders white meat, that is lame. Get a half bird, cover it in sauce and enjoy. The only sides that I recommend are the fries and the garlic bread. Everything else is so-so. Don’t forget some sweet tea. The last interesting thing about Ken’s is that they make their own mayo, and it comes in a squeeze bottle just like the BBQ sauce. My family members have been known to tear up a ton of BBQ chicken on AUCE night and most of it covered in that mayo. To each their own, right?
