Mexican food is my favorite and I eat A LOT of it. So while driving through on my way back to Atlanta we stopped here for dinner… this is some of the best mexican food I have eaten(the sangrias aren’t bad either). The salsa is homemade with chunks of tomatoes and just the right amount of cilantro… absolutely delicious! The staff is very helpful and friendly as well! The only negative thing I have to say is that there isn’t one close to me or else this would be my go to all the time! If I’m ever in the area again I will most definitely be eating here!

For the first time I can honestly say I’ve had a great Mexican meal! The food was fresh and delicious and not just slopped on the plate… Trust me I ate the whole thing which is rare… The server was a young guy who was extremely sweet and didn’t get annoyed by my constant request for more of their tasty salsa! I’m telling you I’m not into Mexican cuisine BUT this place is soooooo good! I can’t wait to go back and try out their happy hour!

The service leaves much to be desired. Had a terrible experience dinning in earlier this year. Waited a few months and ordered Togo they told me it’d be 20 min. Got there when in should have been ready and still waited 20 more minutes. The food is «meh». I’ve had better. Definitely wouldn’t eat here again. Not worth the wait. I honestly don’t know why this place is always packed.

Went with hubby to have some Cuban Sandwiches that are on the sign outside the restaurant and the place wasn’t even full the waitress was slow the service was horrible after almost 20 minutes of sitting there after ordering two Cuban sandwiches we left with only two drinks and a dip of cheese we paid for that and left I could understand if they had to cook the sandwiches but they don’t have to cook anything they just put it together we left and the lady talked to the manager and the manager didn’t even stand up and say anything so we will not be going back to this restaurant if it had where I could put a negative 10 stars I would give them –10 stars thanks for nothing… NEVERAGAINWILL I BOTHERGOINGTHEREEVERAGAIN…

Wow! Loved my dinner, margarita, and the service! I had a burrito, rice and beans, and loved it. The beef was cooked to perfection, and the generous serving of lettuce, tomatoes and cheese on top were just the right compliment to the brown sauce atop the burrito. I also had a side of plantains, which were cooked to perfection. Portions are generous, and the bartender was attentive and friendly.

1 star is more than it deserves. I tried the dinner combo Chicken Chimichanga, Enchilada and taco. Everything was bland. Chicken and rice was dry. Worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. Only thing decent was the Margarita. The Waitress was unfriendly. I ordered cheese dip but never received it. Never again.

Costa Del Sol have the excellent in their service. They served is fast and their crew are friendly. The place has a cool ambiance for customer. Great atmosphere, the food was good and the price is very reasonable. They served their best authentic Mexican food. Give it a try and you wont regret.

I’m in town for work with my sweetie pie. We found this place on chowhound. I have to say that all of these poor Unilocal reviewers must not have been given the gift of good taste buds. Considering that I am in a town I wouldn’t assume would have good food this place deserves even more stars than I can possibly give it. Everything looks pretty generic but what do you expect from lake city Florida?! It tastes amazing. I had the California chicken burrito. I question their decision to serve it with French fries. Fries meh. Burrito oh yea. My sweetness had the fajita and said she gave it an 8 out of 10. More food than she could fit in her petite mouth. But good none the less. Me gusto Mexico!

This place is Awful !! We got up and left with out eating the food they brought to the table. The place was nasty, not sure why the health department hasn’t closed this place down yet.

I was there for a late lunch after finishing some meetings in Lake City and was in the mood for some Mexican cuisine. Having previously been to El Potro just down the street I decided to give Casa Del Sol a try. I was also encouraged by the sign posted out front with 241 Margaritas. However, when I arrived and asked about the Margarita special it didn’t start until 3 pm and I was there at 1:30 pm. I pointed out that their sign outside said 241 Margaritas but the waitress seemed to not be too worried about it(or the extra tip she would have received for a larger order amount). So I just ordered water to have with my meal. Very shortly after being seated, the waitress brought a basket of chips and salsa and took my drink order. I had barely had time to review the menu when the waitress returned with my drink and then stood waiting for my order. Since I kinda already had planned to have a burrito I quickly settled on the beef one with rice and refried beans served on the side. In just a few minutes the second waiter returned with my food. I noticed that it most case one of the wait staff would take an order and another one would then deliver to the table. They constantly switched up who was taking orders and delivering food and it seemed to work flawlessly. The burrito was good but not outstanding, it was lightly covered in melted cheese and served with both the rice and refried beans on the same plate. The rice had a nice flavor without becoming too spicy. The refried beans had what I can best describe as a hint of milk flavor. While not unpleasant, it was just a bit off putting as it is not the flavor I have come to associate with refried beans. However, when it came time to get the check it seemed to take forever for the waitress to bring it to me. Then she never returned to the table to collect my payment. I finally flagged down the water who had brought my main course to the table. He then took it to a third person to make the change and return it. While the food was good, there were several service issues that caused me to drop them down a dot to only three. I will be back in Lake City and try them again to see if their service has improved so I can raise their rating.

Now this is true Mexican food! Not just made up for the tastes for Americans. This is the taste of Mexico that I remember while I was visiting thru there. My whole family loves this place. Great staff and clean facilities. I always look forward going here.

I had tacos, which were ok but nothing spectacular. My girlfriend had a veggie burrito, which had broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots in it. The idea might have been good but they tasted awful. I tasted the broccoli just to confirm, and she was right. The sauce was good, they just needed better quality vegetables. She ate the rice and beans, which were good. The fried cheesecake for dessert was ok, but again, nothing spectacular. Service was sub par for how slow they were the day we were in.

Got to go here once and loved it. Better than any Mexican food I have had in Tampa or Gainesville. Every part of my meal tasted good. Hope I get to go back(or they open a restaurant in G-ville). If you are passing by stop in. I sure will if I am.

Based on Dee B.‘s review we decided to check out this place one Saturday night. The place was busy but not excessively so. We were seated and given menus. Soon someone took our drink orders– a beer, a glass of wine and 2 waters. Chips and pico de gallo arrived. Later 2 glasses of water were delivered. I asked for fresh napkins since the one wrapping the silver was soaked with dripping salsa. After quite a while the wine and beer appeared. I repeated my request for napkins. Eventually someone took our food order. I asked again for napkins. Since by now it had gotten a little late for me to eat a full dinner, I ordered an appetizer; hongas al ajo(mushrooms in garlic sauce). Marty had camarones con arroz(shrimp and rice). Both dishes were pleasantly seasoned although we suspect his vegetable component was frozen and my sauce was a bit heavy on the oil. Yet again I asked for a new napkin. Finally I had enough and called the host/manager to see if going right to the top would work. Yes. Finally paper napkins were placed on the table. To his credit I was comped a glass of wine. Won me right over. Customer service at last.

I had the pleasure of eating here about 2 weeks ago for the 1st time, while visiting family in Lake City. We were seated immediately by a friendly server, who gave us our menus. She took our drinks orders and brought them out quickly, along with fresh salsa and chips. Their chips were fresh and delicious. We ordered a variety of dishes, from queso fundido to the pork burrito platter, chicken chimichanga, and steak fajitas. Everyone in our party loved their food and commented on how tasty and fresh everything tasted. Our meals were accompanied with rice, beans, and fresh pico de gallo. With the lack of restaurants in Lake City, I was getting sick of going to a chain restaurant each visit and eating the same bland food. I will definitely plan to eat here again on a future visit to town and I highly recommend this place to Unilocalers!
