We loved this place! So let’s start of by being very honest… Disney food sucks, like bad, in the park at the moderate resorts, it is worse then hospital food. I was starving when I got here on our 3rd day at Disney. The food was good! I loved how they had a section that was lower for the kids to try to get their own food. Our server was very friendly too!

As with all things Disney, Chef Mickeys was absolutely amazing. I took a girls trip to Disney with my friends and this was our first restaurant of the trip. We went there for lunch and it was buffet style. Everything looked delicious and actually tasted as good as it looked. I tried to sample a little of everything. I had smoked salmon, a frittata, focaccia bread, mango glazed ribs, Caesar salad, fruit, a chocolate chip pancake, tater tots, and a cupcake. I actually went back for seconds, which I never normally do, but I forced my stomach to make room. After about 30 minutes we got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy. The characters come up to every table individually and let you get photographs and autographs. They are so nice and you didn’t feel pressured to hurry up. The staff was extremely nice and provided wonderful and quick service. I absolutely plan on going back in the future.

We had a great time eating breakfast with Mickey and all his pals. It was easy to find, easy to get to, and we could take the iconic monorail to the parks afterward! They had everything you could want for breakfast — and they were making fresh pancakes too! I was happy with the healthier fruit options and the kids picked whatever they wanted. I should mention — they saw my son had a food allergy and without hesitation told me to wait before we started picking through the buffet! To my surprise, the chef personally came out to speak with me and tell me what my son should avoid. He made it clear he was just a wall away and if I needed to ask him anything or had any questions he would help regardless of how busy they appeared to be! They were incredibly accommodating! Character interactions were wonderful. I would pay the price for the meal and the meet and greet any time over waiting in long lines in the Florida heat. I felt like it was completely worth every penny!

A must do if you are going to Disney. Reservations are hard to get so be sure to book a few weeks in advanced. Totally worth the money. It’s a buffet setting, with a great selection for dinner complete with a kids section. All the characters all come around to each table while you are eating and take pictures and chat. We make it a point to come here every trip. There also are two great shops as well as an arcade for the kids. If you have the choice of this place or another pick Chef Mickey you wont be disappointed.

My girls loved every minute of it. They even actually ate their food(breakfast). The characters that came were Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Pluto. It’s a buffet setting, spacious enough for the kids to walk around after they were done eating. This was our second character meet and greet dining experience. We loved every moment of it. It’s completely worth the money and to see the smile on my children’s face. I saw my husband smiling from ear to ear cause the food was delicious to his liking, especially he’s a vegetarian, which can be difficult at times. Bring your cameras charge and empty stomach cause you’re going to enjoy this. Only thing was that we felt a little rushed, but we stayed where we were cause we paid good money for our time with Mickey and friends.

My favorite breakfast spot in Walt Disney World. As a kid I recall having such a great time and now as an adult I’m reliving it and it’s just as good. I STRONGLYRECOMMEND having the Disney Dining Plan and using a table service meal for this. Do not pay out of pocket it’s expensive for a buffet. The food is fantastic as usual. Fruit, donuts, pastry, bacon, pancakes and waffles, nutlike egg dishes and more! The only issue I had was that we were one of the few couples there(no kids) and the seating for couples isn’t ideal.

We had dinner here last night and overall it was a nice experience. I thought the dinner buffet was delicious. I sampled almost everything, ribs, beef short ribs, lobster Mac and cheese, salmon, and more. There is a good variety as well as carving stations and a delicious spread for dessert. As a character dining this is the 3rd character dining I’ve done with Disney and it was ok. The characters came by but did not spend much time at the table, quick photos and kept it moving. My kids didn’t mind they were happy to get pictures but I didn’t feel it was any«above and beyond» experience, especially for the price. I would however return for the food

It’s pricey… no it is VERY pricey… At almost $ 200(with tax and tip) for 4 and the breakfast food is MEDIOCRE at best. However the food is second priority at this dining location. still enjoy coming here because it is fun and magical. First the food: We were seated, coffee/tea and juice was served(included in the price). The waitress was very nice and friendly. They have assorted fruit, yogurt, Greek yogurt, and cottage cheese. They have Danish. They have various«egg scramble» dishes which I didn’t care for as it was rather dry. I really enjoyed the turkey, veggie, potato hash. You can get a freshly slice piece of ham with a delicious mustard sauce(optional) if you like. This was very good. The cheesy potatoes were also good as well. The eggs were dry, the bacon was thin and greasy. The kids and wife alike loved the Mickey Mouse pancakes. Missing was sausage and omelettes. You don’t come here for the food… Chef Mickey’s is located in the Contemporary Resort. Parking was free(I heard rumors they were going to charge for that but no one asked). The characters are fun and visit right at your table… you get to see 5 of the classics: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto! Have your cameras, video recorders, and autograph books ready! Tip: 1. Come here if you are not visiting Disney World parks and want to see the classic characters(no Theme Park ticket required). If you are visiting Disney World you can easily«meet and greet» with these characters at several locations in the park. 2. This place is VERY popular. Book EARLY or keep checking the app for cancellations! I was able to book the day before using the app. Have the credit card in hand though or linked through your Disney account.

Fun time with the family. Going in I was terrified at the price. Midway thru vacation and cash already running low and now expecting a $ 160 meal plus tip. Ouch!!! But then I thought about the kids and and saw reviews on Unilocal and went for it. First, cost per head is expensive for dinner. So if you are in then you are in. No sense in beating yourself up over price. Second, kids smiles on their faces when characters came around(approx every 15 min) made it worth it. No need to stand in those hot, long and annoying lines at the park for an up close and personal experience. Finally, food was actually pretty darn good. Mango salmon, sliced turkey, sliced sirloin steak, pasta, ribs, and much more. Dessert bar I would give it 9⁄10 for appearance but being a huge dessert fan, it left me wanting more. Not impressed at all. Overall, it was a once in a lifetime experience and we will cherish the memories we created today.

Automatic five stars for any place that has Mickey Mouse waffles. if you have a early breakfast this place gets crazy in the morning and folks are lining up at 6:30am. Tip: you don’t have to take pictures if you don’t want to The backside buffet typically has a shorter line and the Mickey Mouse waffles in the children’s area of the buffet. Great food for buffet but more importantly you get to meet Mickey, Goofy and Minnie.

If you are looking for a great dining option with all of the familiar Disney characters — this is the place. I’ve been here in the past a few times and it’s certainly fun for the kids. It’s located in the Contemporary Resort(tower building) and has a solid buffet with visiting Mickey, Minnie, Goofy… etc. Not cheap… but nothing at Disney is. You’ll want to be on the meal plan… and make reservations. It gets jammed.

How have I not written a review of Chef Mickey’s before? I’ve been coming to Chef Mickey’s for years! Chef Mickey’s is the first and original character dining option on Walt Disney World property. I have a picture of me with the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland from Chef Mickey’s in about 1987 or so. I have been to Chef Mickey’s for breakfast and dinner. I recommend breakfast because it is less expensive and you get all of the same great character experiences. However, you are also missing the best ride time at the park if you go to breakfast, so it depends on what your priorities are. I would say this is my second favorite character breakfast on property because Tusker House has a few African inspired dishes that I like, but it is my favorite character dinner. It is my favorite character dinner because they have lots of options with regard to food, and you get the original fab 5 characters: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. I like 1900 Park Fare about equal. I’ve never been happy with the food at Crystal Palace. I am also less impressed with the food at Akershus and Cinderella’s Royal Table, but I’m a totally girly girl who loves all things princess so if you have someone like that in your life, then those are not to be missed. On this most recent occasion my boyfriend and I went for breakfast. Like most Disney breakfast buffets they had my favorite breakfast item, the kid size Mickey waffle. I don’t know what Disney does to make these things so good and so addictive, but I cannot get enough of them. I have considered grabbing a whole plate of them and just eating the ears. The ears are the best part. They are crispy and perfect and I love them. They also have fruit and cottage cheese. Cottage cheese is a staple breakfast item for me. It is a way to eat some protein in the morning. They also have bacon, eggs, sausage, tater tots, pancakes, blintzes, and cereal. Trust me, you will definitely find something you like and likely to find something you’ll love.

Let’s just get this over with. You go to Chef Mickey’s for the character dining. The food is standard American/Continental fare that one would expect from a buffet. However, this place is focused on kids so there is a small section that is especially catered toward kids. In fact, even the buffet is lower for their convenience. The food is Disney. It’s not going to wow you, but it’s also not going to suck, as long as you temper expectations. I have to say I enjoyed it and ate enough food to be full while still leaving room for dessert. I will say if you go, definitely make a reservation as soon as possible. We did not and we wound up waiting over an hour. Service starts right up at the counter when you check in. You get a buzzer and head over to take photos with the characters in the waiting area. Once the buzzer sounds, you head to check-in and they take you to your table. The buffet is set up in a semi-circle with the same offerings on both sides, with a separate dessert bar that does the same. The characters come around on a schedule with handlers, so if your child really wants to take a picture with Mickey, just let the handler know and they’ll make sure they bring the characters by. After all, this is the reason you come here. Even for a big kid like me… it was such an enjoyable experience to see the characters interact with you. Be advise, this is an expensive meal so if you’re not interested in the characters then there are better options for you elsewhere, but since you’re at Disney World and you get to take the monorail to this restaurant… why not indulge?

What a great time watching my sons face light up when the characters would come and interact with him. The whole gang is here and they spend ample time with each table which was great. The buffet was good and the desserts, drinks and service was good as well. The floor managers and staff seemed on point and kept things moving smoothly. In regards to the other reviews… Yes, the dinner buffet is pricey but they do not hide their prices and most should know them before going in. It is loud, kids laughing and coughing and screaming with excitement but that’s another given as well. I researched and read reviews and was prepared for the cost and noise level and still had a blast. I was able to get a last minute reservation by checking the site throughout the day and refreshing the page for reservations and was able to get a sweet 6:30pm spot that someone must have cancelled. I had a blast and it was worth every penny as the memories are priceless. For those complaining about the price, there is a golden corral right down on I-Drive :)

Make no mistake about it, this was expensive, very expensive. If it were a «normal» brunch situation I would never recommend this because of the value. However, it is Disney and considering the joy it brought to my daughters, as well as the quality of buffet food and great service, I would all out recommend this reservation. *You will need reservations! The management team at this particular attraction did a fabulous job of keeping things moving and the staff stayed smiling and moving. Good call if you can afford it!

The food was all excellent. If they ran out of your favorites in your line, you could always bounce over to the other side to see if your favorites are there as well. They did have a hard time keeping some items on the buffet. The ribs and lemon pepper chicken were both excellent. You have a lot of dessert options and I enjoyed all of the options that I tried.

Disney extravagance at its finest! Yes, it is a character buffet. It is going to be loud. It is going to be crazy. It is going to be expensive. But: it is also going to be FUN so embrace it! Let that inner child out. Be silly, act goofy, let your guard down, get excited to see and take pictures with the characters and it’ll be all right. We had dinner here our first night at the resort and it was the perfect kick-off to get us ready to head to the parks in the morning. You MUST get reservations as far in advance as you can. Allow me to reiterate: book advance dining reservations as quickly as you can. You’re going to need them. Check in at the front counter and get a buzzer. Then hop in line to get a picture taken with one of the Fab Five(Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto) while you wait. Buzzer goes off and it’s time to head to your table. This place is big! Your server will get your drink orders, keep said drinks filled, remove dirty plates, etc. Hop up and head to the buffet and get ready to feast! Take note that the buffet has two lines with mirrored image layouts. Chef Mickey’s offers it all: a meats and carving station, every veggie, side, pasta, bread/roll, etc you can think of. Now I am a vegetarian so I can’t speak for any of the meat dishes but I could rave on and on about all of their veggie options! There was nothing I had here(and full disclosure: I had a lot) that I did not enjoy. Everyone we encountered here, from servers, to chefs, to managers walking the floor were incredibly friendly and customer service focused/driven. It was absolutely incredible. And then there were the characters… All I can say is WOW! They earned their keep while we were there. It was like I was five again. They spent time joking with us, laughing, playing, posing for pictures. We saw each of the five characters several times and every interaction was an absolute joy. We will be returning to Disney this Feb for the Princess ½ Marathon Weekend and we already have our reservations for Chef Mickey’s. Yes, it’s that good, so what are you waiting for? Go make reservations of your own!

Nope. Nope. Nope. Why did we think this was a good idea? This is nothing more than an incredibly overpriced buffet that needs a facelift in the worst possible way. If you are looking for an easy(BUTVERYEXPENSIVE) way to bang out photos with the characters, go ahead and bite the bullet. Enjoy those mini corn dogs. The carpet and décor looks to be older than I am. We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and were given a buzzer and told we would be buzzed when we could be seated. We took photos with Chef Pluto and gave them 15 minutes before approaching the hostess. They immediately sat us. The food was«meh», at best, and certainly did not warrant the $ 70 bill that EACH of us was served at the end of the meal. There is not enough fake Mickey macaroni n cheese and mashed potatoes in the world to justify those prices. We won’t be back.

This buffet was over-the-top! I had been there 20 years ago and a lot has changed, but I got the same feeling as I did when I was 6 years old. Cast members were super nice and informational. The food though– was the greatest breakfast we had during our stay. It beats Crystal Palace and ‘Ohana buffet any day! This place is great for adults and kids together, during breakfast the whip their napkins over their heads while dancing to some groovy music! Fun place for all!

We are not the strangers at Chef Mickey’s. We are lucky enough to get the reservation here every time we visit Disney World. This most likely to be my last time. We were actually sitting at the perfect seats next to the window facing west. So we watched the sunsetting over the Magic Kingdom and the lights gradually went up. It was amazing. The same amazing part was my kids meeting the characters they love. However, I really didn’t enjoy the food. I paid a bunch for five of us so I expected something I’d really like. There were a whole lot to choose from but they are just OK food. Kids ate pizza and corns. Will think twice to come here for our next Disney trip. For parents with young kids, this is a place to get the picture and signatures from Mickey and pals without queuing up for a long time.
