Luke’s – Lake Bluff

Tried the double cheeseburger today, it was massive and delicious. Been here a couple times in the last month and have really had a meal everytime, usually the gyro.

Its a nice little place. Good service. It’s nice if you want a quick cheap bite to eat. I had the pizza and while it wasn’t amazing it certainly did the trick. They have places to eat in the restaurant and a couple places outside to eat. The atmosphere is cool, what you would expect from a dine and dash place.

Not worth the price! Ask for hot peppers, got sweet mix. Sandwich overall «BAD»! wouldn’t send friends there only enemies…

Can’t find anyone who makes a skirt steak sandwich like these guys. 9 out of 10 times it’s perfect and even the tenth time is it’s still beats anyone around. There fries are thin and crispy, I get a side of cheese for dipping. Just tried the grilled chicken sandwich and that too is delicious they marinate it for hours and it’s very reasonably priced for being a real piece of chicken, not like what you get at one of the fast food chains.

Saw people talk about the skirt steak sandwich. They are defiantly not joking! I had philly cheese steak sandwiches before and nothing compares to it! I WILL come back and tell everyone about it!

Good option for the area. Luke’s delicious gyro redeemed them from the last review. 2 of my 3 visits were excellent so I’ll continue coming back. The gyros, dogs, and Italian beef are winners in addition to a large dining area, self serve sodas, and friendly staff

Found this place through Grub hub. Love the food, this is a nice neighborhood place to grab a quick meal. Haven’t really tried dinning in but if u drop by your order is done in minutes. Prices are fair and location is easy to find. Will happily visit every now and then.

This place is great!
I have been here twice so far (after recently discovering it) and will happily go back many more times (there are so many delicious looking items on the menu).
So far my lady and I have experienced the Beefs, the Gyros, The Burgers, and The Hotdogs and they have all been very delicious.
With all of the hotdog shops in the area (including one about 500 feet away from this location), it’s often hard to stop in and check them all out, and as for the business itself I imagine it can be hard to stand out with all the competition. But not Luke’s.
Luke’s building is actually kind of big for one of these hotdogs places and inside you can find lots of comfortable, spacious seating and whimsical wall and counter decorations.
Additionally, they have a self-​serve soda fountain and several fresh brewed tea jugs, it’s like one of the last places in the area that trust their patrons not to fill up several gallon jugs with soda when they leave (and that’s pretty darn rare to see around here).
I could talk about the food all day, but so far the highlights have been the beef and the hotdog. The beef is super thin and served on a very nice roll (get it with hot peppers and dipped)! The hotdog is a classic chicago style dog, but with mutant neon green relish that looks (and tastes) incredible, I felt like i was looking at a hotdog being used for a commercial.
To top it off each meal comes with a big pile of hot, salty, shoestring fries!
They have Orange Crush in the fountain, and the bathrooms are always really clean and quaint! What more do you want?!

Getting two stars only because delivery is fast. BUT THE OWNER is very rude to people who call for delivery and says delivery has to $ 10 or more. NEVER GOING TO ORDER HERE AGAIN.

My wife and I just returned home from Luke’s and we will NEVER eat there again. I had an Italian beef sandwich and my wife had a hotdog. My sandwich was the worst Italian beef sandwich I have ever had. The bread tasted like it was days old. The beef had absolutely no flavor and it was poor quality beef as well. My wife’s hot dog bun was stale and the hot dog just did not taste good. The onions were not fresh as they were slightly brown. We both ordered fries which we were very greasy. We won’t go back there and I suggest you eat elsewhere. if I could give this place zero stars, I would.

Luke’s is our new favorite food place! We found Luke’s randomly online one day about a month ago, and since then we’ve ordered from here a bunch of times and will definitely continue doing so. Their staff are friendly, delivery is fast, and the food is well-​priced and delicious. We also love their huge variety. We get the corn dog, pizza and pasta, usually with a couple of milkshakes. So good!!!

My three roommates and I have been ordering from Luke’s for the past 3 or 4 years and have nothing but good things to say. Not only is the staff friendly and helpful, they offer generous portions for very reasonable prices.
Luke’s has a variety of foods to choose– from typical burger-​type foods to chicken teriyaki pita and pumpkin milkshakes. Everything is delicious.
And their delivery is speedy, too.
It’s a local hot spot that definitely deserves your attention!

I am a GREAT fan of their BBQ ribs, and they always have great service. They’ve also delivered a few times. Always service with a smile. As long as they continue servicing me this way, they’ll have me for a customer.

I left Luke’s thinking, «That’s a very nice guy.» The owner was very friendly, seemed to know everyone, greeted, chatted and said good bye. The food was fast, fresh and on par with what a Chicago Burger Joint should be.

Usually hit this place every Friday and sometimes 1 – 2 other times during the week. Great food and moderately priced. Bacon cheeseburger is top notch.

I now live in LA, so when I visit home, I usually want to jump right into some great pizza and Italian Beefs; something Californians have literally never heard of. My mom suggested this «place called Luke’s» which she had heard was quite good. I was like «whatever, let’s go.» It turned out that this was a place I used to go to all the time and loved; I guess I just never knew the name or was too young to care.
Anyway, Luke’s is a little blue-​collar joint in the heart of Knollwood. You order at a counter, there’s nothing glamorous about it, but their food is damn good! The burgers, sandwiches, FRIES, Itialian Beefs and other stuff… extremely good. They always have various combo specials going on too, so a lot to choose from and I’ve never left hungry or unhappy.
If you’re looking for a quick, simple, kinda greasy, Mid-​Western meal, Luke’s is a great choice.

Great atmosphere, owners are very service minded and friendly, and the thin crust pizza is solid. The Italian Beef, however, was very disappointing… it was almost like eating styrofoam it was so unbelievably bland. No flavor at all. I’m willing to go back and give it another shot with something else.

This is how French fries should be. Similar to McDonald’s, but not as greasy. Their hot dogs were great, but with the new owners they may have changed vendors as the hot dogs are not as good as they used to be. The marinated skirt stake is amazing.

I live right down the street from Luke’s so I’ve ordered from them a few times for carry-​out. They offer delivery, but I haven’t used it. The service is always great.
Their ribs are fantastic. They come with fries and a salad, so I think it’s a great deal. The only other thing I’ve had there is the ravioli which was mediocre, could have been Chef Boyardee as far as I could tell.

Great greasy spoon. Skirt steak sandwich is awesome. The fries are perfect!
