Whenever I come into town, one of the items on my «to do» list is to get a slice of pan pizza from Ferentino’s. On this trip, my sister convinced me to try Donati’s. I ordered a 14″ giardiniera pizza and it was very good. Lots of crust and a heavy serving of cheese.
There was a little mishap with my bro-in-law’s pizza. He ordered online and requested it to the Lake Forest store. We showed up to the LF store and it turns out the LB location has his pizza. We drove there to get it. They admitted an issue with their computer system, but a small discount would have been appreciated for the trouble.
As for me, the pizza was excellent, but I still prefer the thin-crusted pan pizzas of Ferentino’s. (Thick Chicago-style pizza, but a thin crust… Donut’s has thick Chicago-style pizza with a thick crust) Donati’s is a close second though. The location in Lake Bluff was also really nice looking and I could see hanging out there with a group sometime.

My husband and I couldn’t decide what to eat. We decided to stop in and try some pizza here. I ordered a calzone and he ordered a pizza. We got to choose any toppings to go on our order with no extra charge. Food was made quickly with smiles and friendly service. Definitely will be returning as food was great!

They advertise thin and crispy. There was nothing crispy about both thin pizzas I ordered. Disappointing, but like the sauce.

Customer service was excellent, definitely worth 5 stars! The pizza is lacking, I’d say probably a 2. The customer service was so superb that I had to give them 4 stars! Pizza is pretty bland, crust sucks, the ingredients seem fresh. I’ll definitely try them out again though!

7 inch thin or deep dish pizza with all the topping you want. Once you walk in you can see all the toppings. They make the pizza right in front of you. They have a oven that cooks a pizza in 4 to 8 minutes. The tables are baby proof so if you bring your kids they a little safer. Eat in and have pizza and a cold beer. Crust was perfect will be back.
