Food was average and frankly pricey, but then again, I should expect that in a Maui resort. But the service is the main reason for 2 stars… shades are cool, but if you west them at night, make sure you have the vision to support it. I don’t know how many times I ended up with part of my drink in my lap or condensation from the water jug on my lap and shoulders with no apologies… apparently we should have all just laughed off… hmmm…

I ate here frequently while vacationing in Maui because we had free drink credits here while staying at The Westin. The worst entrée I had would probably be the kalua pig nachos. They use the cheese that looks and tastes like it turns to plastic after 2 minutes of sitting out. The nachos were a disappointment. The best entrée that I ordered would probably be the pizza(ordered mine with pepperoni, fungus, and tomatoes). It tasted so good I wanted to slap somebody in the face with a bag o nickels. They have 3 different mai tais on their menu. All of them I thought were good, except the frozen mai tai. it was green and didn’t taste all that great to me. Their continental breakfast was actually better than I expected. Whenever I see the phrase«continental breakfast», I think of old bread, box of cereal, and rotten milk. Let’s just say, that’s not the case here. heck, they put your cereal in a bowl for you if you’re into that sort of thing, and even ask you if you prefer whole or skim milk.

We stayed at the Marriott next door but ate here twice for breakfast and once for lunch. It’s ok. Pricey for what it is. The breakfast was ok, service lacked a bit. Lunch portions a pretty large. The kids like the pizza they made and the chicken noodle soup… overall it was ok. Bar was nice, but not facing the beach. The cocktails were strong, especially the mai tai.

(Review for lunch and dinner; I’ve never tried their breakfast) Five years ago when we first started coming here this place was amazing, but the bloom’s gone off of it big time. The service is slow and confused(this business of having a «waiter» whom you barely see but five or so random other people in uniforms doing all the work, if that creates efficiencies, fine, but if it doesn’t it’s just making crappy service insultingly bad), the hostess might be very nice but it wouldn’t kill her to smile, and the furniture is falling apart. It’s sad. The food is fine, and not as marked up as some hotel restaurants I could name, but it used to be *great*, and as the menu has. not. changed. in five years, you can’t give them the benefit of «well at least they’re being creative.» I hope they do a remodel soon, and send their staff on a team-building course or whatever, and go back to whomever used to supply the meat and fish, cuz it used to be such a reliable staple, and it would be tragic if it dragged down a beautiful hotel with it.

It’s a hotel restaurant! ‘Nuff said. We came here for breakfast one morning and opted to order from the menu instead of the breakfast buffet. Ordered a breakfast plate with hash, eggs, toast, with a slice of pineapple and banana stuffed pancakes. You can’t really screw up breakfast. Service wasn’t really existent. After we were seated, someone brought us menus. Someone took our order. We sat for awhile until I flagged someone down for the check.

We stayed at the Westin and ate here a few times. It is definitely not impressive and super over priced, but it was decent food overall. I got some pasta for lunch one day and we ordered some nachos for room service late one night. The nachos were ok and the pasta was actually quite good! We couldn’t bring ourselves to eat breakfast here because it was just way too expensive!

BREAKFASTBUFFETREVIEW: My husband and I came to OnO every morning during our stay at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa because our vacation package included a ‘buy one get one free’ breakfast buffet at OnO. I must say, that ‘buy one get one free’ deal definitely saved us a lot of money because the breakfast buffet is $ 30 per person. That’s an expensive breakfast if you ask me! At the breakfast buffet, OnO offers a variety of various breakfast items. Here are some to list a few: — Omelette Station(MYFAVORITE!) — You can order an omelette to include regular eggs/egg whites, spinach, tomato, bell peppers, jalapeño, mushrooms, and CHEESE! I added extra cheese :) — Pancakes — Waffles — Bacon — Sausage — Eggs Benedict — Fish — Smoked Salmon — Fruit(cantelope, strawberries, watermelon) — Drinks(coffee, milk, OJ, guava juice) — Toast — Bagels — Cereal I think there were more items, but these are the ones I devoured while eating the breakfast Buffet. LUNCHANDDINNERMENUREVIEW: Since this restaurant was conveniently located at our resort, my husband and I came here many times. Although, I have to say that I am not impressed with their lunch and dinner menu. FOOD: I ordered the Pulled Pork Sliders(I think that’s what they were called) and my husband ordered the Fish Tacos. These dishes were definitely lacking in the flavor department. There probably are other items on the food list that tastes better, but we were so disappointed with the lunch menu that we didn’t want to try their food again. DRINKS: The Lava Flows were definitely our favorite thing to order at this restaurant. It was about the only thing we found tasty out of their lunch and dinner menu. SERVICE: I have the say the service is one of the best attributes about this place. The service is excellent from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out. As soon as you get there, you are greeted with friendly faces. The servers are also very attentive and friendly.

I mostly come to this bar and grill because the TVs are larger and the sound is a bit louder at this bar than the other pool bar. That is important when you want to watch sports! I really don’t come here for the food even though it is the main restaurant for both pool bars at the hotel. I have eaten here before but don’t really care for the environment as much as the Beach Bar which is the open air pool bar next to the adult pool. Toward the evening, the bar and grill offers live Hawaiian entertainment. The place is open all day and offers all meals. The breakfast consist of your standard food and is sit down. I believe they off both a menu and buffet style for breakfast. As for lunch and dinner, the food is your standard bar and grill food. Nothing really special and the prices are moderate. The bartenders are pretty cool. Service is pretty much on par. I have never had bad service at the bar since there are usually two bartenders at the bar at all times. As for the patio dining area, the servers are usually on top of their game but expect it to be busy during breakfast time.

So bad, so bad. Ugh. Came here since we were too tired to go elsewhere. Bad idea. Fresh fish of the day(2 stars, $ 25) — so not worth it. It was overcooked, tasteless, and the pineapple salsa was lame. I might as well have thrown $ 25 into the ocean. But the fish portion was generous. Fish sandwich(2 stars, $ 18) — again lame and tasteless. You’re really killing me here. And the onion rings looked so good but the breading had no flavor. Maui pineapple appetizer(2 stars) — I was expecting fresh, sweet pineapple but received a small mound of lackluster slightly sweet pineapple. Service was very slow and slightly rude. Only positives were nice relaxed environment with a live Hawaiian guitar guy singing some sweet tunes. Bottom line: Ono = Oh no, don’t go there. Save your $$ for the many other options next door at Whaler’s Village just a 3 min walk down the beach path.

Food was decent, nothing too spectacular, but it hit the spot. Only chose to dine here because it’s the hotel’s restaurant and it had been a long day. My husband and I shared the pork sliders, ahi poke, fish tacos and a seared ahi salad. The salad was a little disappointing but only because I was expecting something else. Service was awful. We were told that Jonathon would be right back to help us, and almost 5 minutes later another waitress came by and asked if we’d been helped. We hadn’t and she was great to accommodate, but I have to wonder where this Jonathon guy was. Overpriced, but that’s what I get for eating at the hotel’s restaurant. Oh, plus side, the maitais were really strong.

Most resorts will have the obligatory pool-side bar and grill that is your only half-reasonable on-premise option since you probably can’t spend money at the hotel’s upscale, signature restaurant for every meal. Thankfully, ‘OnO at the Westin Maui Resort and Spa is better than obligatory, it’s actually pretty great. First and foremost, the Chicken Quesadilla is no joke — large and in charge, thicker than most of its kind, and jacked with melted jack and cheddar cheeses and delicious shredded poultry. And it was my damn fault for not ordering it again on subsequent visits to the restaurant during my stay, because I still crave this ‘dilla from something like 5,000 miles away. And yes, I realize how crazy that sounds. Anyway. Like the quesadilla, the Nachos plate is massive. Upon them first landing on your table, they could seemingly serve a pack of wolves, but lemme tell you from experience — two determined, hungry humans can tackle it under the right circumstances. Then, you can wobble off together to the hotel pool feeling shameful and bloated and fatter than every other half-naked person there. But at least, you’re feeling full and satisfied, even with the shredded Kalua pork tossed about the dish being just a bit too dry for my liking. The Spicy Ahi Poke Bowl tasted of the same great quality the places charging twice the price had. However, it was nowhere near the same size as the more traditional bar fare we found in the Chicken Quesadilla and Nachos, and was therefore finished in a few mere bites. Not that that should deter you, but rather to show you that there are less gluttonous offerings on ‘Ono’s menu available to, say, the more bikini-figure-conscious diner. The cocktail special, or «Drink of the Day», is typically tasty(not to mention, under ten bucks), but also a little on the weak side. If you’re anything like me, that won’t stop you from pounding a few pool-side(be they Mai Tais, Lava Flows, Blue Hawaiis, or whatever is on rotation that day) with a bar televising sports broadcasts* to one side of you and the beckoning beach to the other. ‘OnO? Oh, yes. *Coming from the East Coast, having football start the moment you wake up in Hawaii, and then end well before you are typically fighting to stay awake on a Sunday night, is kind of amazing.

My husband and I ate here when we stayed at the Westin on our honeymoon. In fact it was the first place we ate. I was not all that impressed. Alot of complaints are about the prices but they were typical resort/tourist prices. The portions are generous but the taste of the food was just ok. I ordered the Kahlua pork nachos the first night and they were really good but they irritated my stomach. We ate here a few other times for dinner and the rest of the times the food was gross. The pizzas were bland and overcooked and the Kahlua pork sliders left alot to be desired. Once we decided we were not crazy about the lunch/dinner menu here we decided to stop going. Since we booked our package through Costco we got some vouchers for the breakfast buffet. We only had to pay $ 12.50 as opposed to the $ 27 it normally cost and we actually enjoyed the breakfasts. The scrambled eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns were the best. They had alot of choices of different breakfast foods so there was someone for everyone. They had fruit, cereals, fish, bagels, pancakes, french toast, oatmeal, omelets, eggs benedict, etc. The customer service here was pretty good for the most part. The rooms service food at the hotel comes from this restaurant and we ordered some desserts to our room and those were amazing. We ordered the banana split, the chocoholic, and the macadamia fudge pie(on separate occasions of course) and they were soooooooo good. Highly recommend all of them. We ran into the occasional inattentive servers but everyone for the most part is really nice. I can’t say that I would personally recommend having lunch or dinner there but try it if you want to, you may like it. I do however recommend the breakfast buffet and the desserts.

We came here our second to last night on our honeymoon whilst in Maui after reading the other positive Unilocal reviews. I can honestly say — we were not disappointed! We weren’t actually staying at The Westin. If you aren’t sure where things are on their properly, this place can be a bit tough to find. My advice: just head toward the pool! You can’t miss it then. We were pleasantly surprised to find the place half empty on a Saturday night(7:30 p.m. or so), whereas Tropica, they’re other restaurant, had a majorly long queue. Neither my husband nor I are seafood/fish eaters, so Ono’s menu treated us much better. Do note, it is a little daunting when they ask you your room number straight away. Because we weren’t eating there, I was a bit timid to say so — but no need to be — they welcome anyone at Ono! We started off our meal with a blonde lager(mine) and Disaronno and Coke(husband’s) and proceeded to order the chicken quesadillas for starters. YUMYUMYUM, is all I have to say. The four pieces are served with generous portions of guacamole, sour cream, and a not-too-spicy salsa. The shredded chicken was very tasty. For main courses, I had the macadamia nut chicken and my husband had a burger. I didn’t try the burger — but he raves about it. Very generous portion size. The fries it comes with are AMAZING. As you can see from some of the other things I’ve written, I am not a fries person. At all. But I could have feasted upon a serving of their fries, that’s for sure. My macadamia nut chicken was served with veggies and mashed potato(or rice). Veggies were steamed and fresh and the potatoes had a few ‘potato bits’ in them still(not completely smooth) — just the way I like them. The macadamia nut chicken itself was pretty good. A bit too much like ordinary fried chicken, if you ask me. Could have used a bit more ‘nutty’ of a flavor, but still — I managed to gobble up one and a half chicken breasts. Portion was VERY generous! We had wanted to delve in to their fabulous dessert menu, but by that point — were unable! Pace yourself, the food is fabulous, and try to enjoy all three courses, if you can! I can’t wait to go back to Maui and come here again.(And I’m not usually one for hotel dining!) (Also — one thing that made it even more enjoyable was the gentleman playing and singing live music just alongside the pool… so soothing!!)

My husband and I stayed at the Westin Maui for our week-long vacation, and as ‘Ono is the Westin’s poolside restaurant, it was frequently our choice for lunch. For a hotel restaurant, the food is delicious! I found one of my favorite dishes on Maui here: the signature ahi tuna poke. I ordered it 4 times during the week, it was that good. Also delicious are the pork sliders; juicy and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of toasting on the bun, and they come with Maui chips. The B.E.L.T.(a BLT with fried egg on top and arugula in lieu of regular lettuce) is also delicious. My husband got the fish tacos on two separate occasions; I never tasted them, but I assume they were good! The Lava Flows at ‘Ono are yummy. I ordered a Lava Flow with many meals while on Maui, and the ones I had at ‘Ono were the best! The servers are friendly, and like any poolside restaurant, the people watching was great. If you are staying at the Westin, make sure you give ‘Ono a try for lunch!

Hello pork sliders, I love you! The pork sliders were amazing here. We had the lavaflow as our drink of choice. This was our first place that we stopped to eat at on our honeymoon. The service was great. Just thinking about those pork sliders makes me want to go back.

First of all, you’re at the Westin so you know its gorgeous and clean. Seating is all outdoors under little cabana-like umbrellas. Very island-y feeling. Staff is super duper friendly and quick. Drinks are good, I recommend the Gecko Cooler. Tasty and tangy. Food is amazing. The Seared Ahi Burger is delicious. Comes open faced and cooked just right and very flavourful. The flatbreads are yummy too. Pretty much gourmet pizza, but who cares, they do it right. Try the one with chickpeas! Desserts are to die for! Try the fudge one and you will not be dissapointed. Not too sweet and so smooth. We go here everytime we visit and it never dissapoints. The price is very reasonable considering you are in Maui at the Westin! Can’t wait to go back!

Great little bar, open air restaurant at the Westin Maui Resort. Breakfast buffet is wonderful. Vast selection of items to choose from depending if you want a lighter fare like a Superfood breakfast or a kanak attack breakfast. Eggs Benedict, breakfast meats, make your own omelettes. My gf and I have been eating all weekend, but it was yet again… time to eat. She ordered an ahi salad. Salad was a generous portion of mixed greens, but a little skimpy on her ahi and other toppings. She was a little disappointed. I ordered the Spicy ahi poke bowl. Not impressed, rather VERY disappointed. A few pieces of Korean nori, one scoop of furikake rice and one scoop of spicy ahi poke. Poke lacked taste… presentation wasn’t anything special. I was pleasantly surprised at my half sandwich of Grilled 5 cheese sandwich on Artisan sourdough bread with a tomato, garlic, portuguese sausage ragout and french fries. It was like a take on Grilled cheese and tomato soup. The ragout was DELICIOUS! I ended up adding the ragout into my sandwich which accentuated the 5 cheeses. At this point, I had wished I cancelled my ahi poke bowl order and ordered the full sandwich. That good! When I go back again to the Westin, I’ll be ordering this sandwich again. Service was fast. Brett at the bar(who switches between Tropica and Ono’s) was excellent, as always!

Had breakfast and lunch at Ono’s. Breakfast has an option of a buffet for about $ 28 or you can order a la carte. We ordered a la carte for breakfast, because we just didn’t think we’d get our money’s worth with the buffet and we were right. I ordered the Belgian Waffle($ 17) and my husband ordered the 3 egg omelet with hash browns and toast($ 21). We were totally full after our meals and definitely ate more cheaply than the buffet. The food was definitely tasty. It took quite a while to get someone to take our order. We told her we had a spa appointment at 10(this was 9:15 when she took our order) and she got us our food in less than 15 minutes. We got our food before basically every other table who was in her section. We really appreciated her quick service even though she was a bit grumpy about it. We also ate lunch here one day. I liked that it’s very casual. It is confusing to many about where the host stand is. Many people wandered through and weren’t sure if it was seat yourself or what. The host stand is kind of easily missed near the pool. The service for lunch was better, although we did run into one of the morning grumpy waiters. I tried to kill him with kindness, but he was still grumpy. Our lunch was tasty, but as expected, not cheap. It’s convenience makes up for a lot. One BIG unhappy thing for me… PEPSI products only. YUCK! In Texas, Coke is the norm and I forget that Pepsi is so prevalent in other states. Why why why? I am only giving Ono’s 3 stars because their food is good, but it’s just not a pleasant or relaxed atmosphere when your servers are so grumpy and over worked. It’s also quite expensive.

Jocyen the hostess WASNOT friendly. But Martha was. All we wanted was to sit near ocean to enjoy our $ 75 brunch for two… Jocelyn was rude and unfriendly and should be transferred to laundry where she would not have to talk to guests who pay good money to stay at the Westin. Nazzy was our server who was happy to take our table near the ocean. Great service from Nazzy… The food was good for a buffet… There was alot of variety.
