Homeless paradise here! Alcohol consumption at any time, weed smoking in front of kids and rude trashy people. I bough my food at the farmers market across the street planning to watch the sunrise with an idea of a relaxation moment. Was the complete opposite! I found A group of homeless guys drinking, talking inappropriate language in front of kids and the funniest part was that I was looking at the ocean and a guy start asking me «hey brah what are you looking at me?» Hahaha. This park needs a serious clean up! The second star it’s because I saw a whale while I was there.

There’s a grassy area, some swings and a volleyball court. The beach has a reef close to shore that makes for some calm and warm tide pools which is great for kids. When we were visited there was a group of possibly homeless drunks who seemed to be a fixture but there weren’t too rowdy.

A great place to watch the sunrise or set with your morning coffee from Badass or your picnic dinner from the farmers market. Not a super nice beach, but lots of trees for shade and birds to watch.

Nice park to come to with the kids, they have swings and a play structure. Public Bathrooms and a beach that is ok. Also nice that it’s across the street from Bad Ass Coffee and the Honokowai Farmers Market.

Not quite at the Honokowai Park is a section of road where you can park and walk toward the Kannapali Beach. This section of beach is situated in between the two hotels. There is no pathway from the parking lot, but at least its free. You have to walk by a detention pond(read: smelly air while you get to the beach). There is however a nice raised wooden walkway between the two hotels. The more southern hotel has their pool nearby so after the beach you can rinse off at their facilities. The beach section is a bit short as the waves were able to touch our toes once. But lots of shade in between the trees. Water was relatively warm and great to swim in. My main problem with this beach is that the section we were at had a lot of rocks and it also seems like there was a section of concrete in the sand? To top it all off, cut my foot up pretty badly on the rocks. Will be back for the free parking, but maybe I’ll make the hike to a rockless section of the beach next time.
