The name has changed(Stack) and so has the quality. Dinner was very average and our party of four tried four different entrees. Not the same flair as before and the pastries not as good either. I know the change of ownership occurred a year or so ago but the quality seemed to be there for awhile. I think the name change signalled a final departure from the past.

The food at this place is superb! Delicious sandwiches and the pastries are FANtastic! I didn’t dine-in, but was lucky to have it delivered while at the office by a fellow friend. I had the Ahi-tuna which was delicious. Huge slabs of tuna on bread(sourdough I believe.) guacamole, and sprouts. For dessert, we had cheesecake, chocolate igloo, apple pastry, raspberry pastry, and fudge brownie.

Came in to pick up a dessert for a special occasion. Chose the Marjolaine and it was absolutely delicious. Rave reviews from our guests. We highly recommend you check it out!

I went here for a simple breakfast: croissant and latte. The croissant was roll-your-eyes-up-into-your-head good. It wasn’t one of the crappy, bread-like things you get at fastfood coffee places. It was warm and light and buttery and flaky. Definitely freshly made. The croissant was awesome enough to guarantee a return visit but, Gabrielle’s cheerful smile and pleasant conversation made the meal that much more special and ensures that I’ll be back for breakfast soon. Before I left, I took a look at the full breakfast/lunch/dinner menu. I like that, while the menu has breakfast classics, it also has some unique items I gotta try. I also cruised the pastry case… and fell in love. I can’t believe the AMAZINGLOOKING cookies, tarts and cakes. Made me want to jump into the pastry case and eat myself into unconscious, sugar-sodden bliss(but I didn’t). HIGHLYRECOMMEND

Savoie’s Fare has a new name and owner. Our party of 4 ladies enjoyed our salads and sandwiches at the new Stack Bistro Pastry and Cake. The new owner had just put up banners with the new name, which made it a little confusing for the gals in our group who had not been to the restaurant before, as they were looking for Savoie’s Fare. It was confusing to me, too, because Open Table let me make a reservation at Savoie’s Fare without saying there had been a name change. However, once we were all inside, we felt welcomed and relaxed. I recognized some of the staff. The new management is changing up the menu a bit, so my first choice of ahi salad was not available as they will no longer carry ahi, I was told. A couple of us had the warm goat cheese salad which was delicious. The presentation was nice. The server was a little slow to refill our rather small glasses of tea and one friend had to ask for a coffee refill. I chose 2 small desserts to take home for the family and they were delighted with the treats. We will definitely return.

New owner at this place got rid of the outdated interior design and it’s perfect now. Modern look, pop of color, wonderful staff and they must have magical unicorns making their pastries still bc they are AMAZING! Difficult to find or pick out if you don’t know what you are looking for so from the PCH head East on Niguel until you see a Carl’s Jr. on your left. They have a black awning outside in the same parking lot. Really great place and so happy to see it has style now.

My cousin and I walked in and said hello to a nice old man outside. He smiled as we walked in. We decided to eat our desserts there and while we were chatting I heard the sound of a saxophone. I had to take a second look. It was the nice old man from outside. It brought a charming atmosphere to our visit. I ended up ordering a tiramisu and my cousin chose the red velvet. Both were good. The red velvet was dry but I did like the cheese cake filling. The tiramisu was okay. Kinda small for the price. Overall, it was a good experience. Desserts were okay. The people working and the saxophone playing made me like it.

My fiancé and I just went here for the 1st time and our experience was very pleasant. We have been hearing wonderful things about this place, I cant believe it took us so long to try it out. We had a delightful breakfast and enjoyed a couple mimosas. I had the eggs benny and it was fabulous. On our way out we stopped and looked at the pastry items. We ended up buying a huge decorated chocolate egg for Easter-it was a total hit! We cant wait to come back! What a lovely restaurant and bakery.

When I heard there is a French café in South Orange County attached to a bakery, I thought, «Why didn’t I know about this place»? Especially when it isn’t that far from where I work and they have macarons and chocolate eclairs :) Well to be fair, unless you know Laguna Niguel, it is located in strip mall that is kinda of in a weird area between houses and condos. We walked into the bakery part of the restaurant first and saw two cases of incredible pastries and refrigerated French desserts. I was like a kid in a candy shop. I was bummed because I did not seen macarons in the case that day though :( We came to get some lunch so we proceeded to the café part of the restaurant and were sat down. The lunch menu was very large with many salad and sandwich and entrée offerings. I had a hard time deciding. I finally went with the Quiche of the Day which was Quiche Lorraine that came with a salad. The quiche was absolutely delicious. It had the tastiest crust and such a nice combination of flavors. The side salad was a nice accompaniment with a great vinagrette dressing. Goat cheese salad was Robyn F.‘s order. She enjoyed her salad very much. She also ordered a latte. We decided to split a dessert. We went with the praline cake. It was very rich and quite tasty but because it had to be refrigerated with the chocolate mousse, the cake was a little on the dry side, but still very good. Service was friendly, helpful and efficient. I need to come back sometime with the BF because of the eclairs in that bakery and all the other beautiful desserts they have. Definitely a great hidden gem that is worth seeking out in Laguna Niguel.

«What are you, people? On dope?» Mr. Hand in Fast Times at Ridgemont High OK, I’m not into to calling out Unilocalers, so maybe I was at a different place with the same name? My portobello mushroom sandwich was quite boring. My wife’s french onion soup was adequate. My son’s pancakes were to tough and dry Charming French café? I think not. Next time… Original Pancake House!

Ordered a custom cake. I don’t know butter from buttercream. The staff was *extremely* helpful and patient with me. Cake was baked on short notice, came out perfect, everyone happy. Will definitely use them again.

We love this place. The food is wonderful, service is wonderful, and the bakery is the best around. My issue with eating here is choosing one entrée from the menu. The quiche is the best I’ve had, the endive salad with macadamia nuts is amazing, the ahi salad is incredible… It’s a small quiet place, but not stuffy in the least. There’s something for everyone — salads, meats, seafood — it’s my favorite place for a special lunch or a quiet dinner.

Savoie’s Fare OC: Laguna Niguel Sunday October 16, 2011 Four Stars I have lived up the street from this place since its inception but I have not eaten at their restaurant until today. The French guy and the Asian lady were very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a cappuccino but it tasted more like a latte because she steamed way 8 oz. of milk in the coffee cup and then just pour two shots of espresso in cup afterwards. My meal came with toast but I upgraded to a toasted buttery croissant, which was the best decision of my morning. I ordered the Laguna Scramble: Eggs, roasted garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, red and green peppers, mushrooms, pepper jack and cheddar cheese with the best side of fruit I have ever eaten. It had all sorts of fruit: kiwi, strawberries, grapes, cantaloupe, and pineapple. Sara ordered the French Toast Michele: 3 half slices of 2 inch thick Texas Toast slowly cooked to perfection and then topped with caramelized bananas. The whole dish was moist, buttery, and reminiscent of bananas fosters. Can’t wait to try this place again.

Overall: 3.5 Stars Tucked away in a non-descript Orange County strip mall is this little café. The food was pretty good and the desserts were fantastic. I will say that the décor is a bit 1980s for me, but I realize that people come here for the food. We ordered: Chicken Salad Sandwich Chicken and avocado croissant Both sandwiches were good but the real star of the show here are the desserts. Amazing desserts. It’s a little far from where we are, but if we’re in the neighborhood, we’ll definitely come back.

This place is incredible. Their desserts are amazing. I’ve had brunch there, tried their crepes, very good, but it is seriously all about the desserts. You’d never know it, considering it’s in a small strip mall, but this place is great. I even got my wedding cake here. The cakes are expensive, and the wedding cake tasting will set you back $ 20, but it is WELL worth it!

This place is a bakery and restaurant all in one. I think the bakery came before the restaurant but either way I recommend this place. Their cakes and pastries are AMAZING! Did you ever think $ 75 would be too much to pay for a cake? Well, think again! They not only create delicious cakes but do beautiful work. As for the restaurant, I have eaten there a couple times with family. My Aunt and Uncle are regulars and know everyone and everything in the restaurant. I have never had a bad experience. The food is great. They have some more traditional dishes like meat loaf but also more French-inspired saucy dishes. Love it! The service has always been outstanding. The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because the décor seems a bit outdated — at least for my taste. Other than that, it’s a great place for a meal and dessert — or to order your wedding cake. :)

A small, hidden French bakery that is just so good!!! The pastry window is always packed with beautiful, tasty pasteries. Love coming here to pick up sandwhiches & pasteries to go & eat at the beach. The vege & eggplant sandwhiches are yummy. The crème brûlée is so good. This French place is not cheap & it takes a while getting your order done. So if you’re in a rush, I would suggest to call in your order & then pick up. One more thing, I really wish they would make macarons daily. The French chef does make them, but only for special orders.

I had the most awful service at this place. I had reservations and was able to order by food rather quickly. 15 mins, 30 mins, 45 mins, 1 hour went by and my food was no where to be found. Finally, as the waitress saw us about to just leave we were brought our food. We were barely attended to this whole time as well. The waitress said, «Oh, I am sorry, we are just so busy tonight.» Are you kidding me? It’s a Saturday night! What do you expect? Get a clue. Everyone around us had similar or longer waits. I got the seared ahi tuna salad which was good but could barely find any tuna, for 15 smackers. My guest got the chicken enchiladas which were meh, but what do you expect when you ask for mexican at a French place. I would only recommend this place as a bakery because the desserts looked mighty tempting. Very little was done to make up for the abysmal service. Nothing comp’d. No free dessert. My friend who recommended this place is now dead to me.
