El Pollo Loco

Fast and friendly service. Drive thru is always quick. Double avocado chicken salad is amazing and great if you’re on a diet and counting calories.

Abram and Sully the manager were awesome in their service. I wasn’t paying for the food so I asked for a refund on drinks. Ended up being a small amount, but again it wasn’t my money… Abram was still in a good mood and Sully was genuine in her understanding as well. The service was worth a 5 star review alone, and the food was great.

Not the best location to visit. Place is pretty dirty and the salsa bar is usually messy and empty. The one thing I have noticed every time I’ve gone in there, which was often, is that there are little bugs or gnats flying around the soda dispenser. That tells me that they don’t clean the nozzles of the dispensers or the tubes which causes bacteria and creates these bugs. These bugs then lay tons of eggs that are potentially harmful when we come in contact with them. It’s pretty nasty. I would never get a drink from here for that reason alone. It’s a health risk. Other than that it’s a typical el polo loco.

I ordered a family meal to go. The chicken was burnt and the breasts were smaller than the thighs. Seems to happen when I place an order to go. Not worth driving back but worth Unilocaling it!

This location isn’t really busy whenever I come in, yet the chicken is always fresh. I love that the avocado salsa is a bit chunkier. The staff here is very friendly, especially Yukary. It’s a little farther than the Lake Forest location but worth the drive.

Theresa and Yukari, two very sweet kind employees. Customer service has improved tremendously, The manager and cashier gave some serious miles, and have great communication skills. The chicken looks delicious, as I said prior, we get a whole chicken and it’s a lot cheaper!

I was so excited an el pollo loco was opening 3 min from my house. Unfortunately this is the 3^rd time IN A ROW I’ve ordered chips and guacamole and received half fresh chips and half stale chips even AFTER the last two times I requested they give me fresh chips. Also the guac consisted of 2 pieces of avocado and the rest tomatoes and watery guacamole. I don’t know why I keep going back… just hopeful I guess. This time really is the last time :-(

Ordered take out shrimp tacos, side order of pinto beans ($ 1.99). Paid for order. Then told no longer have shrimp. Had to substitute carne asada. Got order home (5min drive) taco ice cold, beans (4oz side — $ 1.99 really?) called phone number on ticket to corporate, was told I’d be contacted by DM and franchise owner. It has been 5 days and I have heard nothing.

After asking the nice lady at the counter, she recommended the Poblano Avocado burrito. I got a small drink & the burrito — which came with corn chips. I was totally disappointed — the burrito (yes it was big!) was sorely lacking in chicken, but full of awful tasting rice and a few beans. Then there was the chips — the worst I’ve ever had at a «Mexican» restaurant. To sum it up — the soft drink was the best thing I had. I won’t be going back there anytime soon.

We were very disapointed with the 12 piece family meal. The breasts were too dry to eat and the dark meat was passable. The churros were delicious though.

I was the only customer and waited 15 minutes… for 3 piece meal. They got one of the sides wrong. This is a mile from my house and I will Never go back.

I used to get great service when I went through drive– thru however lately the drive-​thru window has been very poor. A while back a guy had a conversation with a co-​worker while he was tending to my order. Never once looked at me or acknowledged me. Last night I presented this girl with a coupon and she said «it’s expired.» Very robotic and almost as if she was annoyed. A little later as my order was being put together she all of a sudden said «better check it next time.» I was floored by her comment. Was it really necessary to throw that in my face? It was condescending. I told her sarcastically «thanks for the time as she handed my food to me.» I’m never coming back to this location again.

The chicken and avocado taco is really good! I also really like the chicken tortilla soup.

This place is great! The food is always very fresh and every single person here is very nice! I walked in and was welcomed by everyone and also when I left they said have a good day. I like how positive everyone is when I come in. Thank you El Pollo Loco for making my experience amazing! Look forward to coming back.

I pull up to the drive thru at 9:55 p.m., all the lights are on and the Drive thru board asks me if I want to try their special. I put my order in and wait for about 3 minutes I Drive up to the window the manager is standing there counting money at the front counter looks over at me, I asked him are you open? He turns back and continues to count the money, there are three other people in the drive thru behind me he doesn’t have the common respect to come ove, r open the window and tell me they’re closed they’re open or anything, the evening manager is a joke!

Totally confused as to why this place didn’t show up during my first THREE searches for it here on Unilocal!Two others in the area came up but this one didn’t. I literally created a new listing for them & left a note for the Unilocal team about it.
Anyway, I’ve been coming here since I moved to Laguna. Good food, pretty consistent. I’m just giving 4 stars in this rating because my rice tasted off at the time of this review.

This establishment is much better than before it looks like it’s under new management and new employees the chicken is outstanding and the meal came out nice hot and fresh the way it should be I highly recommend this el pollo Loco if you’re eating chicken for a value

Never disappoints! I always order 2 piece breast and thigh (have to ask for a sub) meal and the chicken is always super juicy and really good! Service is always good and always get a warm welcome upon entering. While I’m eating, there is always a worker asking if I need anything else. When leaving, the workers say goodbye and really make you feel like you’re at home. Definitely recommend this location to others!

If they could just give you everything you ordered…
Food is good, healthy? and quick.

Okay… so after eagerly awaiting the opening of this location of The Crazy Chicken I finally went in. And I’ve been there twice now – so you know I’ve got to think its at least passable, right?
This is, of course, a chain of restaurants… and rarely is there anything super-​significant to say. In this situation I will simply state that the first time I went in, I got what I ordered, but the service was slow. This was especially odd since I counted no less than nine employees in the restaurant. Two on break, one just hanging out, one at the drive through window, and five behind the counter in the kitchen area. Finally, someone took my order, I filled up my cup of horchata (delicious!), waited, got my food, took it home, and ravaged it because it was so darn tasty.
Visit 2: Everything was fine… but I tried to scoop myself some mild salsa from their salsa bar and noticed the stuff under the mild sign looked an awful lot like the stuff under the fiery sign. Hmmm… I asked the girl at the counter about it and she said, «Oh, yeah, we don’t have any mild stuff… because they didn’t make any last night.» I checked my watch – it was 3:30 in the afternoon. So… because someone didn’t make salsa the previous night there’s no salsa ALL DAY? And why would you leave fiery stuff in the bin under the mild sign? Who knows how many mild-​salsa-​seeking Joes like me unknowingly put FIERY stuff all over their burrito only to be engulfed in tongue-​flame awfulness that would prompt them to never come back? Or at least demand a refund?
The food’s great here… so four stars – I’m a fan.
I get that this place only opened recently – so perhaps there are some kinks to get out… but I hope The Crazy Chicken’s kinks are out by my next visit… and maybe I’ll consider a fifth star.
