Nice informal place to relax! I had the chicken enchilada combination plate with salsa verde enchilada sauce. Everything was seasoned to perfection! My husband had a garden salad with a beef enchilada a la carte, on the side, also with salsa verde. The dinner salad was a generous size. The salsa which they served to us as we were seated, with the chips, was so exquisite and fresh, that my husband was able to skip using salad dressing and used the salsa as the dressing instead, which he enjoyed! The service was prompt and courteous.

I realize, especially in SoCal, so close to the border everybody’s idea of Mexican food varies considerably. However, for me this place hit the spot. 1) the service was fantastic. 2) small and it was packed, clearly a lot of regulars too; a good sign. 3) the beans, rice and Carnitas had amazing flavor. The regular red salsa I did not care for, I found it quite bland. I found it beneficial to always ask if there are other options. Jackpot! The roasted green salsa is fantastic. The house version of the Cadillac margarita had plenty of tequila however the mix tasted sort of like powdered limeade; not my favorite Except I asked for extra lime juice and this is the first time I got an entire glass of extra fresh squeezed lime juice. I’ve been charged extra for that before and I mean possibly a couple of squeezes so this place five stars all around!!! Looking forward to another visit soon

This review is not only about the food which is always tasty but the service… i havent walked in here in at least 8 months and my server remebered my ordered and even remebered i didnt like cheese on my beans… seriously this is amazing love the place

Have had both good & bad service here. They refuse to sub beans for meat on taco Tuesday so watch out, vegetarians. Pretty standard Mexican food.

You can definitely do better!
The place isn’t all bad but it is basically a dive bar. If you’re not sitting at the bar, the dining experience will be pretty forgettable.
At least at the bar, there is football playing and you are geographically closer to the alcohol. Their house margaritas have a generous amount of tequila and it’s not too sweet. Granted, it isn’t high end but that’s to be expected in a mix drink.
I ordered one of their shredded wet burrito plate. While it tasted okay, the burrito did not hold its shape well and quickly flattened out as the inside oozed out like lava flow.
If you don’t mind oozing burritos, then you’re in luck. However, if you find this disgusting, please eat with your eyes closed or go somewhere else.

This is nothing more than a bar pretending to be a restaurant, so it’s hard to decipher which way to review it. Even as a bar it’s nothing impressive, with poor service and overpriced drinks. I’d like to say as a restaurant it wasn’t too bad, but the workers were too busy with all zero other customers to bother acknowledging anyone.
The place is dark and filthy, I didn’t bother to enter the restroom. I’m amazed this place is still in business with all the obvious complaints of poor service. I was recommended to go here a few times and slowly noticed those who recommended the place no longer dine here.

After living in Mission Viejo for over a year we found this place. Just when we thought we’d never find good Mexican food. We spend every February in Mexico so we know what we like. The place is not fancy and we like that too. We eat here every week. The same people work here all the time so the food has been consistent. I love their shredded chicken crisp tacos and shredded chicken enchiladas. My son and his wife love the place too, they are beef eaters and they like the beef as much as we like the chicken. Enjoy

The service shines here, and the margs are strong. The food hasn’t disappointed yet. Taco Tuesday is a fun night out, but the regular menu is better. It’s small, but charming and it’s a new regular spot for my fam and me.

I had the Taco Tuesday special home style beef, the Salsa was perfect.

This used to be one of my favorite places to come enjoy a meal, but stay away on Taco Tuesday… they do not honor the first come first served rules.
.you must be friends with the staff in order to get table… you just lost customers for life amigos!

After hearing a friend rave about this place, I decided to try on a Taco Tuesday. The problems began when we were waiting to be seated. Despite being assured we were next to get seated, they seated two groups (who came in after us) before our small group of 2.
The next problem was there was no Taco Tuesday menu. We had to ask the waiter for specials, and the language barrier made that a bit of a struggle. We got the house margaritas. Being in my 20’s, I appreciate a strong drink. What we got was so strong it was undrinkable even for the biggest lush. The tacos, at 3 for $ 5, were just ok and noticeably smaller than any other Taco Tuesday taco I’ve ever seen. The service was spotty and we seemed to have two waiters who were not communicating with the other at all.
Our bill came to about $ 20 each, which is a little absurd considering we got one drink and the cheap tacos – 6 each since they were so small and we wanted to take advantage of the 3 for $ 5 deal.
I would recommend going elsewhere for Taco Tuesday.

Eat here all the time always have a terrific time. Small restaurant great food exceptional service. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would recommend.

Coworker got me take out for Taco Tuesday. I asked for 2 soft chicken tacos. He came back with two giant foil wraps which could have been burritos, and a big bag full of fresh tortilla chips and a bucket of salsa. I was happy.
Chicken tacos are shredded, not chopped, and a bit dry, but that’s okay because it’s real meat. I even bit into a small bone (looked like a rib, which would make sense since it was breast meat) and I’m not one to raise hell because I found a bone in my food or a shell in my eggs because that means they don’t use powdered protein.
Tortillas were soft but they held well.
Lettuce was lettuce.
Cheese was cheese.
Chips were super crispy and the salsa had nice flavor and a good level of spice. I’m definitely curious to try the carne asada now and their enchiladas since that’s what this place seems to be known for.
Too bad I feel like hell after eating cheese.

I’m a big fan of their crispy tacos and their cheese enchiladas. If you are into margaritas, their Cadillac is very strong. My co-​workers and I always stop by for taco Tuesday.
In short, good food, good service, low prices. A killer combo.

Was there a couple nights ago for Taco Tuesday, and it was fantastic! I’ve been going there for about two months straight now because their service is Amazing. Best Marguerita’s around. Only thing is, the TV Channels are in Spanish –_–

As a whole, we love the food here, but as of late the service has gotten worse. When we first started coming, there were two gentlemen who would serve us, and they were both really great: attentive without being pushy, polite, efficient. However, the newer staff seems a little slower on the uptake. So, 4 stars for the food, –1 for the drop in service.
Tonight, however, we had a really poor experience that has soured us on coming back. We had arrived, and put in for one of our standard booth/​table locations since we’re bigger guys. The waitress tells us the wait, and we wait. Then, someone else (don’t know if it’s the manager or another waiter) comes out, says they’re getting our seats ready, and then proceeds to seat a very large party that had come well after we had in the table/​booth area. When we mentioned to him that we’d arrived before, and that we had expressly asked for that, his only response was «Well, there were 14 people in their party.»
The 14 people had had a table and a booth already, and had been seated before we had. While they may have made more money off that party than they would have off of us, we had been loyal customers, and now that’s very much not going to be the case going forward. I very strongly considered deducting two stars for this, but decided it was a one-​star penalty.

Came here for dinner with my daughter. The service was excellent. The food was very well prepared. I did see the previous reviews, but I can’t see it. Our experience was great and I would highly recommend this place.

Went here for taco tuesday. I was seated right away since we came before afternoon when nobody was there yet. Service was fast and waiter was responsive. I tried two chicken tacos were tasty but I feel like I’ve ate better tacos somewhere else. They didn’t serve wine that early in the day which is why I drank a strawberry daiquiri instead. Very sweet and fruity! :)

El Carne Asada Verde es muy excellente. La salsa picante es tambien.

What I appreciate most, is the food tasted more authentic, then your typical, say, run-​of-​the mill, «americanized» mexican food.
After reading the reviews, I’m anxious to try out one of these margaritas for size.
Servers very friendly and accomodating.
Atmosphere could be nicer.
