Steak ‘n Shake

Been here several times at various points throughout the day… Excellent burgers and shakes… If you want gourmet? Go somewhere else and pay for it… Cheap burgers with lots of taste… Newer Sriracha burger with jalapeños is awesome! Threw an egg on there and it was delicious!!!
So what if they get busy and are a little slow… So what if the refill takes a little longer… It is worth the visit… Most folks who critique it could not serve their way out of a paper bag…

very disappointed the waiter acted like she was real busy she forgot every request I had the food for everyone at my table was total garbage do not waste your time zero stars wait an hour for slop no thanks

SO SLOW! They were very backed up in the drive thru, so I parked and went in. When I got in they were pretty busy however I realized it was on account of THEM having no systems, no one knew what the others were doing. It took me 25 minutes to get a small malt, I almost left without my malt. Also, while waiting for my malt I had the opportunity to watch the kitchen, dirty kitchen, poor quality food and shakes sitting in ticket windows for long periods of time. The burgers are very small frozen patties that they hammer to a paper thin burger on the grill, gross. Never going back.

Slow.As.Heck. We pulled off the highway to get a «quick» bite here. Pulled into the drive through with three cars ahead of us. 30 minutes later we had our food. We were stuck at the window for 10 minutes being asked if we’d gotten our food, and then 5 minutes later asking us if we’d gotten our drinks. The fries were cold and inedible – you guys really need to change your rancid oil. Disgusting. There is something really wrong with the management of this store

I love the food and my actual waitress was great but for not being crazy busy took awhile to seat me and when I had to pay the bill. They basically need a hostess.

Average quality Steak ‘n Shake. They were extremely busy so we had to cut them some slack. They took our orders within 10 minutes and served our food within 15. I had to ask for my water to be refilled once, but I’m a sponge so I don’t blame them. The food was delicious. I hadn’t been to Steak ‘n Shake in a while and there was only one cook in the back whipping out food for 20 tables.

A horrible experience! Don’t go there!!! Complete and total incompetence! Food was cold and the wrong order was brought out after waiting 50 plus minutes. «We make our burgers fresh not like McDonalds» Strange, we didn’t order burgers. Cold chicken fingers are disgusting! «I guess I could warm those up for you»
Waitresses just ran around looking frazzled, and mostly apologizing for the delay (except one who walked slowly about with a blank look on her face). Manager ignored staff when they called to her.
When we went to pay– we saw at least 10 burgers with buns and toppings sitting on a ledge near the prep station… waiting to be plated and given to the miserable customers. Huh, I wonder why the food is cold?
One star for the milk shake, it was cold too, but at least that’s supposed to be.

Our family of 5 sat in a booth for 25 minutes w/​no staff interaction at all. Location was moderately busy for a Tuesday night.
After giving staff an additional 5 minutes we decided to walk out and eat at home.
Disappointing service to say the least & don’t think I have walked out of a location for nearly 20 years because of poor service.
Only reason for 0.5 star is kids were occupied for 15 minutes with kids menu and crayons

This is the slowest SnS ever and it’s a consistent problem. Whether they’re busy doesn’t seem to matter, tonight the restaurant was only half full and 3 managers were working and it still didn’t help. Don’t stop here unless you have a couple of hours to waste.

Went to the drive through on the way through town had been craving the garlic sliders which I had had at another location a few days back and they had been fantastic!!! They weren’t on the menu so we had to ask if they had them they then asked us all these differnt things we wanted on the sliders. Where before when I had them the description was 3 100% beef shooters with cheese, garlic mayo and a garlic topping. These where not at all the same! They didn’t have the topping and the garlic mayo was very potent. And half of our order looked like it was just tossed in the bag it was halfway unwrapped. And some of the burgers didn’t even cover the bun there was barely any meat! Also the burgers were barely warm. Very disappointed in this location.

Slowest service ever. The restaurant is half full. 25 minutes and still have not got a drink. Two thumbs down.

I normally like Steak and Shake but this one was horrible. My burgercame wwithout anything on it, fries were stale, coffee was just slightly brown water, and oatmeal was 20% full. I’ve had bad experiences but never where every single element wasa bad.

Service was slow. The server was unhelpful and inattentive, and there was a disturbing amount of standing water (I hope …) on the restroom floor. Never been to a more depressing Steak and Shake.

Yay for shake happy hours, with half-​priced shakes! We stopped by the Lafayette Steak ‘n Shake en route from Chicago to Columbus. Got a table quick and ordered some food. I decided to go full tilt and get the Jalapeño Crunch chicken
maybe not the best choice for me — a little too much jalapeño even for me. but the shake i got was great. plus the shakes were half-​price during shake happy hours. Since we don’t have Steak N Shake where I live, i love stopping by one on my Midwest travels, and this one fit the bill — good service.

Wish we had these in Washington. Love the melts and fries.
Coupons are very useful. Use them.
Happy hour: shakes and drinks ½ off between 2−4am and pm.

Nice clean fast food place with wonderful shakes! The chocolate is the best Great fries and hamburgers are slender and tasty. !

We have lived In Tippecanoe county a long time, but only recently discovered Steak“n“Shake. We enjoy the clean surroundings and tasty food. The coupons are very helpful. Our order was mixed up one time, but they did a great job remaking it as a comp. We were very pleased.

The hamburger wasn’t bad at all, not the best burger either but if you want something to eat at 3am and you’re near to this place I think it’s a very good choice. The fries are very good; they were hot and crispy. The service was good and quick and they got the order correct even to not putting ice in my drink and giving me ranch and BBQ as I requested when I placed my order.

A «typical» Steak ‘n’ Shake, but they seem to either have great days or awful days. I can go there and get a fantastic meal, they take expired coupons, and the service is wonderful. If I go back the next day, sometimes I’m left waiting for a table for far too long (they have no system for waiting, as I think they’re not used to it) or I’m taken way before a group of people who have been waiting for 10 minutes. The service can be poor or mediocre and I end up disappointed.
Overall, this Steak n Shake is better than the other one in town (on 52).
