This place is okay. The food is just average, nothing real special. The good thing about this place is that the chef interacts with the customers and makes it pretty funny. He is really good with the kids. The other table with kids loved his comedic act. The food can be a little bit too salty for me, but that’s just my own taste.

After having Mount Fuji recommended to us several times we decided to try it out. This restaurant is definitely underrated and hidden under the undeserved popularity of the other local Japanese steakhouse Asahi. Besides a slight conversational language barrier the staff was extremely friendly. There were only a few customers in the restaurant when we went later on a Saturday evening. The cook was entertaining, skilled, very friendly to the young children at the table, and most importantly the food was very good. We had the shrimp, steak, and chicken. I would recommend all three. The cook made sure to drop a piece of each meat in their respective sauce dishes in front of you to be sure you used the appropriate sauce for each meat. We will definitely be back to Mount Fuji in the future and we will be sure to bring more people with us to be sure Mount Fuji becomes a popular Lafayette restaurant destination.

Great place to eat overall. The food takes a while, but the chef prepares it right in front of you and is delicious, so it is worth the wait. The staff is very friendly.
