Well I guess you can’t judge a book by its cover. In this case this is not a good thing for this restaraunt, because from the outside it looks a welcoming fresh seafood establishment. The restaraunt is new and updated looking with a sort of fried seafood theme on the first floor and an attempt at a family dinning experience upstairs. The evening started out with an $ 8.50 signature drink«Moose Tracks» mudlside, and with its description on the menu it looked like you couldn’t loose. Brace your self ladies and gentleman because this is where the review begins. The so called mudlside tasted like a malt milk shake with no alcohol in site. The menu described it’s ingredients as containing three different alcohols and I couldn’t detect one. In my opinion this was a sure sign of the stingy-ness and lack of skill of their bartenders. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind paying $ 8.50 for a mudlside that you can taste why your paying that price for, but to have a drink that I doubted wasn’t virgin just wasn’t cutting it. Then we move to the mono-tone, I might have just gotten high waitress that was serving us. We put in our appetizers and she might of asked how everything was going at least 4 time before we had even gotten our food. I started out with their advertised $ 1.00 oysters. Sounds like a good deal right? Wrong, when I got these oyster I almost laughted. They were the smallest oysters I have ever seen. Then came time to put in our meals. I have to admit this was a rather bad choice for me because I was juggling with the twin lobsters, or a fisherman’s platter. I should have gone with my better instincts and gone for the lobster but I placed an order for the fisherman’s plater. The wait wasn’t long and the waitress laid down the smörgåsbord of fried seafood in front of me. Before I even took a bite I could already tell that the batter in the fried fish was thick and probably not changed in a week. I dug into the fried haddock first, not bad but a little dry. Next I tried a whole belly clam, good but not really whole belly in my opinion. Then came the scallop… when I bit into this scallop immediately I was hit with a funky rotten tast I spit it out in my napkin immidiatley. Thinking I got a bad one, I tried one more to be sure, again I was punched with a disgustingly fishy rotten tast. That my friends is where the meal stopped for me. The waitress came around for the 19th time and asked us how everything was going, I was honest and said this food is not good. She stared and goes«Sorry». No attempt to ask if I wanted something else, just«Sorry». In my opinion don’t ask that question if you are not prepared to do anything when you get an honest answer. After this long review if you remember one thing from it remember this, Don’t go here, save your money, and spend it any where else. You will not enjoy your food or your drinks. The lakes region has a lot better restaurants to offer.

Our waitress was pretty rude. And the food was pretty sub par… We went late in the season, but it was August still. We expected better service for the prices.

Do people not realize THISIS A CHAINRESTAURANT?! You are basically going to Red Lobster and getting your food from a truck that delivers the same frozen food to the entire country. The clams here was nasty. The tarter sauce is FILLED with preservatives and chemicals and not quality at all. The people at the take out window are rude too. STAYAWAY. You are better off driving to Tamarack for clams.

We ate at weathervane on vacation and my lobster was delicious. The service was good and the price was great only $ 17.99 for whole lobster dinner.

The best lobster roll I have ever had. The appetizer plaster is amazing(get it with the gold sauce). Alex, our server, was amazing. Must come for their 5 dollar margaritas!

The service was horrible. We thought we were being served by pod people no one smiled or asked how we were doing or came and filled our drinks. The food was terrible

Came with 4 friends with very sophisticated pallets… Loved it. The steamers, fried clams, scallops and haddock… We loved them all. Accessible by boat. It’s at The Weirs. Our waiter was Amy and she was fantastic!

Stopped here on our first night in town. We ordered enough food for 3+ people easily(even though there were 2 of us, we couldn’t choose) including the seafood platter. The total cost was about $ 50. The food was delicious. We went to Maine on the same trip and paid over $ 100 for dinner for 2 on the ocean and we agreed that the seafood we paid $ 50 had more flavor. This was also one of the only places open the majority of the time we were here. They pile the ice cream high on the cone and the food is excellent. I definitely recommend it.

Call first if it’s shoulder season. Unilocal said the Weathervane would close at 8 pm so we drove over there tonight only to find a «Closed for the season» sign. The«one star» is for Unilocal, not the restaurant.

I ordered out here last week during my family’s vacation to Weirs Beach. We had a copy of the menu already so I knew what I wanted and just went to order it and take it to the condo. The 1st thing I noticed when i walked in was that the place was filled with smoke and smelled. They must not have proper ventelation from the fryolators. I walked up to the counter and there were 2 young guys(early 20’s) ahead of me so I waited. After a minute I realized that he was not ordering but just there talking to the staff(girls in their late teens/early 20’s). Three girls at the counter ignored me for 5 minutes while flirting with these 2 guys. After the 5 minutes I just walked up to the counter and said«can I place an order»? The staff looked very disinterested in helping me at all. I ordered the gold fever chicken tenders, and waited another 10 minutes in the terrible smoke. In general it is a nice looking clean restaurant. I would get the ventilation equiptment fixed so it wasn’t choking the customer’s out(the smoke was present in the entire restaurant, including the dining area). I would also keep an eye on your employees who besides ignoring me at the counter, just in general looked like they were just there to get paid, and not to work. The only reason why I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because the food was actually pretty good. I doubt i’ll return to the Weathervane, but unless they want to lose more customers I hope that they change a few things.

Weathervane has become a popular restaurant in NH, and rightfully so. The serviced was great and the food came out fast, which might be due to the lack of customers there. I had a Cajun salmon wrap and felt it lacked any authentic Cajun taste. Not very spicy to say the least. But I did try some lobster and clams and have to say tasted delicious. Other dishes from the weathervane might be good but try and stay away from the wraps.

Came here last night for a family get together! I decided to order their special steak&chicken combo. The meal I was provided with was above average and definitely worth every penny. Service was very expedient and very attentive to say the least. The establishment was clean and well kept. Large flat screens to watch the game are also provided with a decent bar. A great atmosphere was provided we also came pretty late and were surprised they didn’t mind to accommodate us! Overall had a great experience at this establishment!

Craving some seafood so we came here last night. When we walked in, the place was filled with smoke and smelled awful from all the fried foods. We should have turned around and walked right out. But we got the seafood platter with fried clam strips, scallops, shrimp, and haddock fillets along with French fries and onion rings. Nothing had flavor and it was poorly battered. We found that the shrimp were not cleaned properly after we cut into them. Awful! Did not feel well after all the food!

I was in the mood for some seafood and heard that this place was rather good so I decided to give it a try. Food was great, but it took way too long for it to come out. I’m talking like 45 minutes for our dinner to come out and the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. Our waitress was also a bit rude, but that could just be an East Coast thing…

We came here for my boyfriends birthday to have dinner and some of their happy hour specials. First thing we were greeted rudely by out waitress. I believe Crystal was her name. After I ordered a cocktail she was so concerned about having my ID that’s she interrupted my boyfriends order. As we tried to hand them to her she was too busy playing with her necklace to take them. After we got our drinks we told her we had more people in the party coming so we were going to hold off on food until then. Seemly annoyed she took off out of sight and left my boyfriend with an empty drink for nearly 15 minutes. The rest of the party arrived and unbeknownst to me my sister had this waitress a few weeks ago and had such a horrible experience that she complained. Apparently Crystal saw it appropriate to tell the entire bar that she had and pointed her out, within earshot. Needless to say it made what was left of our dinner extremely uncomfortable. We had a cake for my boyfriend and at the end had her bring it out… Unfortunately it was an ice cream cake and she used a hot platter for it. Awesome. I give it one star because in spite of the less than stellar service the food is actually not bad.

Very nice restaurant, spacious, quiet and great service. The drinks are great, as are the lobsters(soft shell!). A lot of the food however is either fried or a sandwich, and both the bisque and chowder have flour in it(not gluten-free). So I felt pretty limited in terms of choices. Overall a great stop on the boardwalk!

We came here for dinner on a Saturday during Memorial Day Weekend. One of my munchkins ordered fried clam strips. The other was just going to try whatever everyone else was eating. My husband and I ordered the Rough Fried Seafood Platter. First, the place itself. It is on Weirs Beach so depending on when you go, parking could be a little crazy. There are two eating areas. One area is next to the kitchen and the other is upstairs where the bar is. We were brought upstairs to a table in the corner which was perfect. The Bruins game was on and it got a little noisy for my 2 yo. The server had«a shadow»(i.e. she was training someone). The scary part about that was she was suppose to be the veteran and yet she had a hard time with questions that we asked her. My husband and I wanted some raw oysters, we asked how much for six and where they were from. She had to ask the kitchen which was fine, its a new menu option. She came back and told us where they were from but forgot to ask how much for six. So she went back. Needless to say, we didn’t order any. Our food was ok. The fried clam strips were liked by my daughter. My husband and I split the seafood platter. It had onion rings, fries, shrimp, haddock, scallops and whole belly clams. You can tell that they change their oil regularly — LOVETHAT! The food wasn’t saturated like some fried foods are. The onion rings were nice and light. Overall, it was a good time and good food. My reasoning for the 3 stars is the waitress was a little off. I don’t know if it was because she was training someone or what but she was too attentive when we didn’t need her and not attentive enough when we did need something. I had to get up twice and ask a different waitress if she could bring me things. The second thing is, the fire alarm kept going off. When we asked what was going on, since we were told we didn’t need to leave, we were told that the alarm is very sensitive. If they put too many hamburgers to cook on the grill, it goes off. We were there for about an hour maybe an hour and 20 minutes and it went off four times. My 2 yo was not a happy camper.

Was here yesterday while walking the boardwalk … One of two places open. Had the lobster roll, it was packed light on mayo … One of the better ones I have had.(8 out of 10) Counter help could have been more professional… Felt like school just let out and the couple of young girls there were more into what’s going on fri/sat night instead of takin orders.(–1 star for that)
