You can never go wrong with L&L… I got the short ribs which I haven’t had in such a long time and their version of spam sushi and I loved both of them. The rice was perfectly sticky, the meat was both tender and well marinated… I’m not a big chain food guy but L&L is one of my go to’s!!!

The closet thing to Hawaiian ahi I have had in over 5 years. Awesome customer service, great food and you get to enjoy some Hawaiian tunes while you wait! Highly recommend this spot will be a regular.

When I came here, there was no greeting or acknowledgement of my presence. I was watching the employees doing other things when I was standing in front of the counter for 5 min. The female cashier was not friendly nor welcoming. I almost wanted to leave but I was too hungry to go elsewhere so I stuck it out. Overall, horrible customer service. I like L&L food but I don’t like the service at this location so that’s why I gave it a 2 star. Please advise to training your employees about customer service.

This is the first L&L that served Poke and musabi. I was happy. Of course the beef was great as well as the chicken.

Good food but consistently rude employees, I asked a question and the«server» barked at me that I wasn’t the only one waiting for food.

Pro: good food, but there really isn’t that much competition for Hawaiian food in this area Cons: Saw the cashier drop and kick plastic containers on the floor, then pick them up and put teriyaki in the containers off the floor. Soda machine wasn’t working it was just spitting out carbonated water. And the soda machine was dirty, all sticky. The«Brewed» iced tea isn’t Brewed, false advertisement.

Awesome. Just awesome. my family is Hawaiian and the people who own it are phillipino. Taste just like back home. I usually get there musubis and there Kim chee. But what can I say? everything I’ve had there is good. Hint: I didn’t try the ramen burger but my mom did she said it wasn’t good. but if you like Hawaiian food, and you live near this place, go to it.

I do like the food from this chain, hence why I give it 3 stars… I tried loco moco for the first time… Not my thing, I will stick to the plates of chicken, short ribs and the delicious macaroni salad… But my big complaint about this store, it needs a real cleaning! The seats(I tried to move to different tables but all had this) are all sticky… The tops of them as well as the seats… The table was sticky. When it’s slow, someone needs to use hot water soap and really clean it! It’s gross

Not authentic at all! First asked me if I wanted my food for here or to go they still have me my katsu saimin and musubi in to go boxes. Saimin sucked only noodles and soup usually they give fish cakes and sliced eggs, musubi was horribly thin, and the chicken katsu tasted like they re fried it. I mean come on!!! This is supposed to be an authentic Hawaiian plate lunch place this is not an l&l I know about… And their shave ice is not shave ice!!! It’s a slushy in a cup smh thumbs down horrible

Just went here with my co workers & I am not happy ! First off… Plan to wait 10 plus minutes for your food. There was only 3 people there and I waited at least 10 min for a mini chicken breast plate. Second… The macaroni was drenched in some sort of sauce(possible soy sauce) which was gross !!! My brown rice was also soaked in the sauce… Not sure why they would do that??? Kinda strange I ordered the healthier plate, but all that sauce kinda defeated the«HEALTHIER» version. It was gross I couldn’t even finish it because it was just so soaked in the sauce. IFYOU don’t mind eating chicken and rice in a puddle full of sauce & soggy macaroni salad then this is your spot! I’ll never be back

HUGE fan of their tuna poke bowl. Best in Claremont/La Verne area. I get mine with brown rice. It comes with a spicy sauce and it’s just all-around delicious. If you like sashimi, get this. It feels indulgent, but it’s healthy. My husband, who used to live in Hawaii, loves the Loco Moco here. Our kid loves the musubi and milk tea. During these summer months, it gets kinda hot inside, so we’ll sit outside under the shade(and breeze) or get orders to go.

Great place for Hawaiian food. 2 words… malasadas and manapuas. These 2 delicacies bring you back to Hawaii. Warm sugared donut puffs(malasadas) and meat filled bun(manapuas) are definitely authentic. The place itself has a lot of randomly placed pictures of food that they serve. Another reminder of the Aloha spirit of Hawaiian food places. Tried the ramen burger here which was pretty decent. The malasadas were on point. Not quite like Leonard’s in Hawaii but close enough. Would definitely come back here.

Ate here yesterday because I had a coupon for a free chicken bowl and drink, so I thought why not. My expectations weren’t high to begin with because the whole restaurant is sort of run down and old, but the food was just bad. There was so much blubber and gristle on each piece of chicken that it was almost inedible, the veggies looked rubbery and tasted like they were cooked the day before, plus the rice was sort of mushy. I guess I can’t be too disappointed because it was free for me. But I don’t recommend this place and will not be coming back, go to Waba Grill if you want a good bowl!

This place is soo good! I’ve been here at least 5 times since I started working in the area last month. I’ve had the BBQ plate, the Portuguese sandwich, which has fried egg on it and the Musubi. The prices are good and the staff is friendly. It’s not a fancy place, but it’s just like Hawaii, simple and awesome. I would recommend it to any of my friends.

I enjoy their food, what I don’t enjoy is choosing the salad and when you get home and open your carton… tah dash… the salad is wilted and warm because they put it in the same container as the hot food. So now I have learned skip the salad, but alas if you get the macaroni salad, same problem. I now skip all salads

I would give their food three stars. Its definitely not the best but good enough for chicken and rice. I ordered the mini chicken breast pineapple with one scoop of rice and Mac salad. Plenty of food for one person. I’m happy they now have a option for white meat. Great addition to the menu. I notice though the teriyaki sauce they offer on the side was watered down. I prefer it to be thicker. I’ll go back again.

Located at the Target center in La Verne, this is a tiny little Hawaiian fast food joint. Prices are a bit higher than your stereotypical fast food chain but that’s a given for«speciality» fast food. Food is good, and satisfies my cravings. It gets busy during the lunch rush but even if it is not the lunch rush do expect to wait 5 – 10 minutes for your food(even on a weekend) that’s because they really are back there cooking it! On my last trip, I tried their new ramen burger. Yep, they are trying to capitalize on the hype. I have heard so much about the ramen burger and was excited to try. It is actually quite good. However, I do want to iterate that I have never had a ramen burger prior so I can’t really say it is the best or it’s amazing but it is definitely interesting! It’s real ramen noodles, not that fake Top Ramen crap! The patty is on the sweeter side and is topped off with thin piece of lettuce and a sauce(I want to say teriyaki sauce…) and it is wedged between two ramen patties. It’s worth the try for $ 8(includes drink and fries) or pay $ 6 for just the ramen burger sans drink and fries. Anyhoo here are some tips! Do come on Tuesdays for spam musubi day! Only $ 1.25! And register for the SpotOn loyalty card. One free point for signing up and you earn points for purchasing mini plates and regular plates only.

I had eaten there one time before yesterday and it was just okay. I only go here because it’s closer than Ono. After yesterday, I will never return. I had the grilled chicken plate with white rice and mac salad. I still needed to run some errands after so I headed to Target in the same shopping center. Within 15 – 20 minutes I was throwing up so violently that I could not leave the bathroom. Not only was it completely embarrassing but I was 20 minutes late back to work. When I was finally able to make it back to my office, I called them just to let them know the issue and I had also read another review about people getting sick. Maybe they got a bad batch of chicken or something… The manager was so unapologetic and was obvious that he did not care. I didn’t want anything from them but I wanted them to be aware. I also plan on reporting this to LA County Public Heath since he was so unwilling to look into the situation, maybe they can help them find the issue. ***Update*** I was contacted by the Public Health office today and they did confirm that there was an issue with temperature and food handling methods.

I was told they had the best bbq in town by my sweetheart. I dis agreed however. I ordered the bbq short ribs, bbq chicken, and bbq beef platter. It came with rice and macaroni salad. Yuck! To all of the above. The meat was fatty and extremely thin portions, the rice was dry and old and the macaroni salad was watery. Don’t waist your money. Go to the deli section at the grocery store and you’ll not only get more food, the portion will be larger and they’ll cost about the same. Sorry honey, but I wasn’t impressed at all. And the wait was long too. Two thumbs down! Just sayin! But I love you for taking me to try it «:)

We went to this place to try it out. It’s in the Target Shopping center, right across from the entrance of Target. We all ordered bowls, or plates of BBQ Chicken, and the chicken just did not have taste to it. I ordered the BBQ chicken bowl with Brown Rice and Veggies and the Brown Rice did not taste good, it was soggy and the chicken did not have enough flavor to it. I took half it of home, but then did not feel good the rest of the day so I threw it out. My other co-worker left all of their chicken because they didn’t like it at all, and only ate the white rice and macaroni salad that came with it. Overall, could be waay better than it was!

MMMMM Now that was a good plate of L&L BBQ. This location may struggle a bit with business but the food is always fresh and hot right off the grill. If the front of their business was facing foothill more customers would definitely eat more. As for the price incantations complain because a regular combo could feed 2 but some people are just cheapskates… hey buddy I don’t see you writing to shell oil complaining about crude oil prices so back off of L&L their food is delicious! Chicken katsu, BBQ chicken BBQ beef pork lau lau and loco mock are all high recommendations!!!

I stopped by here when I had to get my purse fixed and it was next door so perfect while I was waiting. Wellllll Not so much. Compared to other Hawaiian BBQ places I have been to this one was not that up to par. The quantity didn’t really compare. They were also a little price about $ 7.50 for the regular short rib meal. The customer service is also a little off and when I asked the difference between one of the orders they guy got really confused so I ended up with something I didn’t really want and got charged a little more because he misunderstood me. It’s good if your really hungry and in the neighborhood.
