Ono Hawaiian BBQ

So I went to this place because my original spot (l&l hawiian bbq) closed down and I’m so glad I came here because it’s a a lot better than my old spot and I feel like they have more variety and the tastes great!

Love it here! Always clean, great food and wonderful staff. I have tried a variety of items on the menu only set back is that if you order shrimp or fish and. You ask for tarter sauce they only have the ketchup packet version.

Never a disappointment at this location! The staff are always super friendly, I get greeted every time I walk in through the doors and everyone is always so helpful. Now on to the food… Also never a disappointment! The food is great here and so are the portions. I usually order the fire island chicken, comes with rice, cabbage and macaroni. Food is always cooked fresh so allow about 10 minutes to wait, sometimes I call it in so its ready when I get there. I highly recommend this place… Good for healthy eaters too!

Surprisingly good for a fast food location. Ordering the Hawaiian BBQ mix, to try the variety of flavors, I found all three (chicken, ground beef, and steak) to be flavorful and well cooked. Trying out the two offered dipping sauces, Kutsu and teriyaki left a great flavor in every bite. Defiantly a great quick stop. The customer base was average and after I finished ordering this little location was slammed by nurses and construction workers on their lunch hour.
The best part of the experience was the modern themed interior décor.
The worst part was slow-​moving, bored looking, drink forgetting server at the register.

Food is a tad bit on the sweeter side, just how I like it! The portions ARE a bit smaller, but all very delicious! I make my boyfriend get this for me every time I come to Cali.

Food is always great when I order from here. I always stop by here when I feel like having some island food — never disappointed!

Been back twice since my first review and each time I’ve got way too many fatty pieces in my bbq beef «mini meal». The service is still fast and friendly but I’d rather they slow down a bit and ensure the quality of what goes on the plate is better.

Went to this new location was great as usual. Love the mac salad so good can’t get enough

The interior is really cute. Like way beyond cute. And it’s so roomy. My dad and I came in to order to-​go to bring home. We got the BBQ/​Katsu Combo platter.
The place has good food, but the portions are pretty small. When we go to similar restaurants the box is usually overflowing with food! That being said, it was still a pretty decent price for a little variety. One order won’t be enough for a family though.

The food and customer service is always pretty good, but theres 3 customers in here, and 4 dirty tables. Last time i came i had to whip down my own table. Thats the only downside to this place.

The food is great but I have one major concern. Roaches and flies. They have an A on health inspection but I think that needs to be reevaluated. Good food and good service but the facility is dirty. Unfortunately I will no long bring my business here. Can not risk the infectious disease that roaches carry. I was standing near a paramedic and she noticed it too. I called the health department and they are dealing with it accordingly.

I have always loved Ono Hawaiian BBQ! Their food is delicious and– at least to me– better than other Hawaiian food locations. Their teriyaki chicken and macaroni salad is awesome, as well as their spam masubis. This location is particularly well run due to the friendly staff who is timely and makes sure the establishment is clean. Love it!

Not too shabby. Busy, but not a lot help. The two cashiers were handling the money except one was taking an order on the phone and line was backed up. They were fast enough to get everyone paid. Maybe a manager on duty could of helped.

ALWAYS makes me feel sick to my stomach after eating here. Thought It was just me but took my sister to try it out for the first time. It was the same for her SICK TO HER STOMACH … Should have learned my lesson the first time … Never again .
Not to mention gave some to my baby’s and they have been throwing up all night.

First off, the macaroni salad is INCREDIBLE!
That being said, I got the seafood combo and, for the price, it was wonderful. The only real problem was that the shrimp was very over cooked, and dry. If not for the katsu sauce it would have been too dry to eat; however, I will add that the ratio of breading on the shrimp was perfect, and had it not been over cooked (which is so easy to do with shrimp, especially when they’re butterflied as these were) they probably would have been outstanding. The whitefish was flakey and moist inside its light breading. The rice was cooked expertly. Once again, that macaroni salad is beyond delicious (really wish I still had some left).
The establishment appeared to be very clean (which I’m sure everyone can agree is a good thing) and the décor is minimal and doesn’t try to distract you from what you’re eating.

I’ve been wanting on it to open after passing bye eveyday & when they finally did it was just ok when i got home with my meal it wasn’t what i order it was something that was all fryed the macaroni salad was pretty good wasn’t a fan of that fried food.
Went agin 3days later & my food was good it wasn’t worth the long wait but i must say the place is clean very nice inside staff was friendly until next time 3 starts

Loved the food here. The staff is friendly and helpful in suggestions. Love the spicy chicken. The Mac and cheese was light and very delicious. Good place for a quick lunch or light dinner

My dad loves trying new food so I was pretty excited when an Ono Hawaiian BBQ opened nearby. I decided to check it out on a hot I.E. Saturday afternoon when I was too lazy to cook. There were many options to choose from and I was quite indecisive but their workers here are very nice and friendly. Ironically this one guy who looked like their manager seemed very grumpy compared to the energetic workers.
I decided to get two different lunch plates so my dad can have a variety to choose from. I bought an order of the Chicken Katsu ($ 7.79) and an order of the Kalbi Short Ribs ($ 9.99). All of their lunch plates come with two scoops of rice, one scoop of macaroni and the protein lays over a bed of steamed cabbage. You can help yourself to sauces and condiments that are towards the back of the restaurant.
Upon opening the boxes we were initially deceived thinking it was a large portion, but it is that strategic bed of cabbage that makes the meal look bigger. The scoops of rice and macaroni seems to be thrifty as well. Good thing we had our own rice at home. I usually love Hawaiian macaroni, but this place was rather disappointing. I’m glad I didn’t trade out my rice for the macaroni like I would usually do.
Furthermore the meats were both subpar as well. The Chicken Katsu tasted okay but the breading layer was thick and the inside chicken seemed thin. The Kalbi was barely flavored and not as good as other places I’ve been to.
My dad thought it was okay. I think if you aren’t too picky or if you haven’t had good Hawaiian BBQ you might like this place. At least it’s cheap? Personally, I would rather make the drive to Rancho Cucamonga for Aloha Hawaiian BBQ where my cousins have been getting their go to Hawaiian BBQ fix on for years.

Not so bad. I’ve never really been a fan of the way that they prepare their foods; not sure if it’s true to «Hawaiian» culture, but it’s cool.
What puzzles me is: what do they charge an additional $.50 for their chicken dishes?

The place was clean and it was packed when I went today.
Line was literally almost to the front door.
Workers were nice, seemed like they had way too many workers but it wouldnt hurt to have enough than short staffed.
Just like the other places, they have combos, and plate dishes you can get. I got the fish plate and chicken combo. Since you are at hawaiian bbq place gotta get the spam masubi!
The sauces were by the soda fountain, they have different type of condiments you can pick from (mayo, hot sauce, tartar sauce, soy sauce)
The roof was very high and seats were kinda cute. Bench looking chairs to the side and two seater in the middle and four seater tables towards the window.
One of the worker was sweeping the floor through while I was there. Parking is fairly easy. The plaza is big enough to hold plenty of customers.
Teriyaki sauce they have was hot and katsu sauce wasnt even though it said caution.
Overall experience was good. They also have drink fridge with hawaiian sodas you can purchase from.
Katsu seemed a little bit fatty but fish was seasoned well and cant go wrong with their macaroni salad.
