Advertise«Fresh, Handmade Tortillas» and you’ve already got my attention. Not only are the tortillas here freshly made that day… they are made just before your order hits the table. Now THAT’S FRESH! As soon as those fresh corn tortillas hit the table, I was taken back to my childhood, growing up in a Mexican household. I grabbed for the lemon and squirted it all over the tortilla, then grabbed the salt and sprinkled it on. One bite and it was like my grandmother was alive and back in the kitchen. For breakfast I went with the Huevos Rancheros breakfast(two over medium eggs topped with green sauce and sitting atop a fresh made tostada with a side of rice and beans). In my opinion, the green sauce was a bit too tart; it would have benefited from being a bit spicer. The beans tasted homemade and the rice was standard«restaurant rice»(not a bad thing). The service was kind and friendly.

My first time here so I can’t critique too much. I had the pastor tacos combo plate with the rice and salad. The meat was very flavorful and the rice was quite good. Probabky not the best idea to come when the local high school gets out because it gets busy and loud but I will come back to try something else.

My family has been eating here since at least 2011, probably before. My kids LOVE the asada fries!!! So when my regular taco man was not available for our event, I did not hesitate going with Tic Tac when the were recommended to me. I originally ordered for 40 people, but when my headcount reached 32 I called and changed it to 50 people. I had 34 people at my event, but wanted to make sure the heartier eaters had plenty of food.(I am not cheap, tight or financially challenged) They arrived on time to serve from 2pm-4pm, the food was delicious and many of my guests commented how much they loved it. So all was perfect… UNTIL… As their time concluded I took them containers for the left overs.(This is typical with ALL taco man service) And the man said NO. He said he would be taking the food back to his restaurant. I was quite sure if I understood him right being I don’t speak good Spanish and he didn’t speak good English. So I grabbed one of my Spanish speaking guests to help me out. Well it turns out I did not misunderstand him at all. After a full dialogue of conversation that lasted a good 5 minutes, this was exactly what he was doing. He was taking all the food that had been at our event back to his restaurant to serve there that evening. Being that I am familiar with the health code, I questioned him, he again said that is what he would be doing. So I got more specific and said this violated health code and law due to cross contamination and it could lead to food poisoning to say the least. He, again, said he would be taking the food back to his restaurant to serve and that it was ok. By this time several of my guests had overheard this conversation and word was spreading. This review is not about not getting the leftovers… not at all. This is about the public’s health. This is clearly a health code violation and against the law, not mention absolutely disgusting! Now I question where my food came from… the taco service leftovers from the night before? It doesn’t matter how«clean» a place may be or how«good the food tastes»…

This restaurant does not even deserve 1 star. they cater our bday party and the leftover meat and they are selling it at the restaurant. Never has a taco man taken the leftover meat to be resold as fresh at a restaurant. … wth!

Honesty it all depends on what type of environment best fits you. If you are more of a high class fancy dinner, this is not the place for you. But if you are a casual person who loves Mexican food, you are in the right place. Now a days, it’s hard to find a good authentic Mexican places, since most places are so Americanized. But here they give you flavors that you will only find in an actual Mexican kitchen. Besides the fact the location is very convenient for me, it’s a must if you live In the city of La Puente. Although a very small space and no AC, the food is so worth your while. The servers are very nice and attending people and it is a very humble stay.

We wanted to try something different, we normally go to Poblanas on Nelson. The food was below standard. It started with the salsa, it was watery, tasteless. The carne asada for sopes was if poor quality, the rice was old. The beans were good. The waitress was very nice, but she was multi tasking. We will not go here again

I’m glad my friend decided to be adventurous and take me to Tic Tac for lunch! It’s a sit down restaurant, with homemade tortillas. We were fatties and ordered a bunch of food. We had the Tic Tac Burrito… it has fries in it :), taquitos, asada quesadilla and of course we couldn’t resist super fries! Everything was fresh and yummy. I was so full that I didn’t end up eating dinner that night. The service was good too, they were really friendly, which always makes the difference! I’ll be seeing you again Tic Tac.

This is my first time here and I am so impressed. I could kick myself for not trying it sooner. When you first come in the place looks a little low rent or like maybe they just moved in, but the service and food sure make up for it. The place is very airy and roomy. They serve tacos and burgers too so JB Burgers(across the street) better watch out. The staff is super nice and the prices are great! I think I found my new fave spot! I tried the carne asada tacos and a potato taco-AWESOME! My friend had 2 hard shell tacos w/beans and rice. She said the beans and rice were yummy! They serve Coke products(a plus for me), but today I had Jamaica instead. It was the !! A lot of places water it down, but this was just right and it was ice cold! I was so happy with my meal that I was dancing in my seat.

The standard Mexican Burrito is 6 – 10 inches long. This burrito is smaller than the standard Mexican burrito, only about 4−½ inches but it packs a punch. The Tic Tac Mexican Food Restaurant is nestled away in Old Town La Puente in a quite area of shopping and entertainment. You can park in the 2 hour meter area on the street. The area is quite and reminds me of older towns by its buildings. The service was good, I had my burrito in less than ten minutes and paid with ATM card. They had many tables and scenic murals on the wall. The indoor may not pass color codes in all residential areas but it passes my code for art. The burrito came equipped with a generous amount of carne asada flavored with a green salsa that was explosive in flavor, not too hot but very flavorful. This burrito had a tortilla that was not grilled on the stove but heated up on the stove, no grill marks but it had a warm, soft texture and flavor. The beans were great, soft, with a smooth fluid texture, no onion. The red rice in the burrito was on par but I did not notice enough to really evaluate it, plus the other ingredients really stood out more. In between one of the tortilla flaps was a layer of melted cheddar cheese which really set the burrito off, mixed with the beef seasoning and green salsa, explosive, like a firework. You had my burrito without cilantro and onion which would have made it even more explosive. Maybe this burrito is what Katy Perry thought of when she performed her hit song«Firework.» Song Parody of Katy Perry’s «Firework» It contains oh so much, like a plastic bag Will make you disperse wind With all the beans up in Do you ever eat, burritos paper thin Like a Taco Bell One blow from caving in If you can only see, the beef is buried deep 4 inches of tortilla but you’ll taste every thing Do you also know there is red rice for you? Cause there’s a meal for you Just let the flavor ignite, taste right and with such might Eat for lunch or the night like a chicken fried rice Burrito is a firework Come on, let your flavor burst Make ‘em go «Oh, oh, oh» This is one awesome Bu-rri-to Burrito is a firework Come on, let your flavor burst Make ‘em go «Oh, oh, oh» You’re gonna leave ‘em wanting Bu-rri-to You don’t have to eat cause it’s in your face Find the original, this food cannot be replaced If you only knew, taste can be so bold So much sunshine and a pretty rainbow Maybe the reason why other restaurants full So that you can try this one so beautiful Like a lightning bolt, you’ll have the salsa glow And when it’s time, you’ll know Just let the flavor ignite, taste right and with such might Eat for lunch or the night like a chicken fried rice Burrito is a firework Come on, let your flavor burst Make ‘em go «Oh, oh, oh» This is one awesome Bu-rri-to Burrito is a firework Come on, let your flavor burst Make ‘em go «Oh, oh, oh» You’re gonna leave ‘em wanting Bu-rri-to Boom, boom, boom Beans can take you to the bath, bath room Now I want you to try this food And now it’s time to visit Tic Tac too Burrito is a firework Come on, show ‘em what you’re worth Make ‘em go «Oh, oh, oh» This is one awesome Bu-rri-to Baby, you’re a firework Come on, let your flavor burst Make ‘em go «Oh, oh, oh» You’re gonna leave ‘em wanting Bu-rri-to Boom, boom, boom Beans can take you to the bath, bath room Boom, boom, boom Beans can take you to the bath, bath room

From the outside I was a little skeptical since I’m picky about my Mexican Food. It was past 10 by the time we got there so someone was mopping. Everyone there was very nice and they waved us in to let us know they weren’t closed. The walls are covered with different things you can order. We got our menu and I ordered the large Nachos and a potato taco with a medium Horchata. My friend got the carne asada taco and fries. I was SOOO happy that they had carne decebrada(shredded beef) because it’s my favorite! I chose that to be the meat on the nachos and they were VERYDELICIOUS! I was super pleased and they were huge. The potato taco was delicious too! It came with cheese inside too, some chips, and salsa. The salsa wasn’t spicy so I was grateful since I hat having to chug my horchata. The horchata was pretty good. The fries were ok, kinda over done and I thought the carne asada taco was too small. All in all I loved the friendly service, the yummy food, and the prices(we went halfsies and paid $ 6 each). I will go back after another FNM: D

Takes credit cards. Mexican food but has burgers. I got the carne asada torta was ok, I suppose it’s a decent place if you stuck in the area. Semi clean. Lots of echos with the large flat room. Have a tiny tv for you to squint your eyes at.
