So when we heard there was a new BBQ place in LP we had to go try it. It looks like they are making a legit effort to serve real BBQ. We tried the tri tip and rib special. You have to order all the sides on their own. We bought the cornbread’s, Mac N Cheese with bacon and tatar tots. The BBQ was really good and their home made BBQ sauce is the bomb. I also loved the corn breads but I thought the Mac n Cheese was very«Kraft» like. Which means that it didn’t taste much different than buying box of Kraft and putting some bacon bits in the middle. Not bad but nothing special. The prices were not bad and I definitely want to come back and try some of the Sammy’s. The place is nice but I really worry about their hours. Seem like hobby hours more than business hours. I mean Wed, Thur open til 6PMONLY! We rarely get to dinner before 6PM. Saturday’s lunch doesn’t start until after 1PM. I hope they can make it because they have good product. The place is designed nicely although they have a bar and no soda fountain. But it can seat 20 – 30 people easily in their dining area and the service was really good.

Items ordered: Pulled pork sammy, Bacon Mac & Cheese, Cajun rice What a hidden gem in La Puente! I hope this place lasts, it’s in an area that one would not expect to find good barbecue. I thought about ordering a tri-tip sammy for 7 bucks, but to get more bang for the buck, I ordered the pulled pork sammy, bacon mac and cheese and cajun rice for sides. Everything was delicious, the pulled pork was juicy and tender. They included extra sauce on the side, but I didn’t use any of it because it had plenty of flavor without. The sides were great, the mac and cheese was just the way I like it, very cheesy, and I liked the cajun rice as well. I came here on a weeknight 30 mins before closing so it was empty, but I imagine this place would have nice ambiance when there’s more people. I noticed it was pretty cold inside the restaurant, but that was probably because they were getting ready to close for the night. I recommend this place. I will come back to try their other stuff.

We’re lucky that even though we live in SF, my parents and brother live within reasonable walking distance to Domestic. My brother, who is an LA foodie and knows great places to eat all over SoCal, was one of Domestic’s first customers and continues to be a loyal one. During a holiday visit with the fam, I finally was able to eat there. Our extended family of 6 split a big tray of food: beef brisket, fried chicken sandwich, pork ribs, mac and cheese, collard greens, and tater tots. Everything was excellent. Will definitely look forward to eating here again on our next visit. FYI: Comparable quantity and type of BBQ at a hipster SFBBQ joint would easily be 3 times what it cost here. And the quality would not be as high at most of those joints.
