Waffle House

This WF is so-​so. Every time we go in there, it is dirty! Tonight we went there and our bill said$ 47.00! We knew it wasn’t correct so my husband went to pay and asked the cashier to recalculate our bill. I added it up in my head and it came to $ 27.00. She came back and said it was $ 37.00. I ask to see a menu to recalculate because it was still too high. She rudely said,“they are on the tables!” We cashed out and I calculated all the prices and it came out to be $ 27.80. I tried to tell her and she wouldn’t listen at all. Finally she took a menu and pointed to an item we didn’t even have and said «this is $ 7.30!» I tried to tell her we didn’t even order that item! She put down the menu and walked away! So beware of being overcharged at this WF!!! I hope she is enjoying her $ 10.00 «tip»!! Needless to say, we will never go there again! There are other places to go!

Oh Waffle House you haven’t changed a bit and that is both good and bad. Where else are you going to go for your drunk food when there isn’t a Dennys though?
I was visiting my cousin and after the bar we decided to grab a bite to eat.
I ordered an ice tea and the chicken sandwich with cheese and bacon and home fries with cheese. Our food arrived after a bit and I opened my sandwich to put the mayo on it and there is a huge hair stuck to the cheese on the bun. The server immediately took it away to get me a new one. She was kind enough to put my home fries on another plate so I could eat something while I waited. The cheese on the home fries was a kraft cheese slice melted in a perfect square at the middle of the home fries. The chicken sandwich was just ok and the cheese was very cheese wiz esq.
When you have no options I guess this is an option and the people watching is worth 5 stars.

So today was, my first experience going to a Waffle House and in all places in La Porte Texas. I found myself in a B movie in a hot western town along a major highway with dust in the air and truckers all around me. I actually found it to be very frightening, the cold tile floors, and the weird people behind the counter, aspirin-​colored lighting, and the dark film of grease that formed on my face within minutes of being there. The waffle House cuisine seems to be typically some iteration of carbs fried in lard and powdered in sugar, then rubbed in hog grease. In my mind I could see a group of friends coming there after church and have a grand old time sharing Bible verses as they send forkfuls of butter covered scrambled eggs sliding down their gullet before going to WalMart. The waitress Latoya was straight out of a tawdry David Lynch movie, slow as molasses and a stare of nothingness while she got nothing correct in my order even after I told her twice; two eggs over easy, home fries diced, with bacon. The other people working behind the counter were somehow moving in slow motion and seemingly unaware of the world constantly driving past them. But I feel it incumbent upon myself to caution you that as with all our guilty pleasures eating at Waffle House is way up there. It truly was an experience.

I came here after a very traumatic night in my life with my mother and we had breakfast and had a good talk. As we came in one of the employees went out of his way to hold the door open for us and smiled genuinely. Inside, I could see the people working there were happy to work there and it just had good charisma from the workers. The food was pretty good but the coffee was very watery. For some reason I just had a lot of respect for this particular Waffle House. They made my very crappy night turn into a pretty pleasant day. So this place gets 4 stars (:

Always great to have service with a smile especially for the most important meal of the day. Food was brought out rather fast and well prepared i might add. Really cant wrong with the waffles pan sausage eggs & grits.

Standard WaHo, I ate here for a few breakfasts while doing work in La Porte.
The food was fine, standard diner fare. My breakfasts were around 6:30am, and there was plenty of room, service was prompt. As far as a breakfast bite goes, this is probably one of your best choices for the area.

Breakfast is delicious and cheap.
I had the eggs, sausge, and hashbrowns.
Friendly and quick waiters.

All I can say is, YUM! to the hashbrowns all the way. I’ve always been a fan of the hashbrowns at Waffle House for a long time and it’s definitely a great way to turn a side dish into an entrée. If you’re a fan of breakfast food, you’ll love the spin on hashbrowns here. When you get them «all the way» it comes with peppers, onions, ham, mushroom, and a scoop of chili on top. The hashbrowns still have the crispiness to them, but they’re covered in this delicious concoction. You can even personalize your hashbrowns, like I do, and leave out the peppers. While Waffle House isn’t your top dollar, fancy smancy restaurant, this little restaurant typically has super quick service and breakfast food that will make your tummy happy.
