I got frozen yogurt a few weeks back after a hiatus of a few years. When I went to SDSU and all my friends lived in the area, I probably would get frozen yogurt here at least once a week. Coming back a few years later I was not at all disappointed! They always have a large variety of options of frozen yogurt, my favorites are the cake batter and butterfinger. Yogurt Express is the only place I have ever known to have ‘oreo dust’ which is very finely ground oreo powder. It is my favorite to mix in with my frozen yogurt. Their prices are excellent and I think that the quality is significantly better than any chain frozen yogurt. The only downside for me is its far from home, but when I am in the area Yogurt Express is a great treat!

I do not understand how anyone could give this yogurt shop under 5 stars. It is a neighborhood spot and definitely gives a family feeling for the La Mesa/San Carlos area. I would say the best flavors are the ones with little hints candy bars embedded. They are still one of the best priced yogurt spots around too!

Small store, small flavor selection, very little fruit toppings, kind of warm inside but very good yogurt and prices nonetheless! Got 2 full small cups of froyo for $ 5! That’s amazing. I like how they have a tray for sample cups so you can get as many as you need cause yogurt places where you have to ask for them are SO stingy lol

6 selections of yogurt. .clean.low amount of fruit toppings. large amount of everything else toppings… Why 2 stars? No greeting. I spoke and still there was no greeting b/c the 2 guys that were working conversation was too important. Only when I went up to the counter was when I was acknowledged. #Rudeness

Yogurt express rules and I almost don’t want to post a good review because I don’t want it to get more crowded, but I can’t lie. The best flavor is Kailua, but basically you can’t go wrong with any flavor. They also have sugar free options if you need that. And the prices are fair. They took out the small table and bench they used to have so you can either sit on the curb in front or eat it in your car even though you promise yourself you’re going to take it home.

Idk, way too sweet and creamy. But its still good. Doesn’t have the texture of frozen yogurt at all. Seems just like really sweet mediocre ice cream if you like that stuff. And no chairs or tables.

Good but too sweet for my liking. i had the vanilla flavor and even that was too sweet. They don’t have any tart flavors which is what I was looking for. It is very inexpensive though.

I’m only giving 4 stars because of the daughter that occasionally works here. My God– she is so unpleasant. She never greets or thanks you for your purchase. I feel very unwelcome when she is there. The yogurt is delicious. The owner lady is great– everyone else is super friendly– it’s just the daughter. Sorry. I speak the truth. It’s self serve with tons of toppings to chose from.

The FroYo was delicious with a great texture, but the lack of seating keeps me from giving 5-stars.

This is a pretty basic frozen yogurt shop. Don’t come in here looking for mochi, tart flavors, or fresh fruit toppings. There’s no seating inside or outside. If you’re looking for super friendly and courteous service, there’s a competitor down the street, I’m sure you know the one I’m talking about. Now all of that said, this is the place to come if you want good yogurt for a reasonable price. It’s self serve here. It looks the same since they opened, but they keep the prices lower than other shops so get over the lack of frills. The toppings here are mostly candy and cookie related, but this doesn’t phase me because I’m not really into them anyway. My kid, of course, is a fan! They have a website you can check to see in advance what the daily/weekly flavors will be. They always have peanut butter, chocolate, and vanilla everyday. They also have a flavor board in the store that lists the weekly flavors. There is always one no sugar added flavor available. While this is not my go-to spot for yogurt, it is a nice option for inexpensive yogurt to go. It’s a good choice for families. It’s kid friendly. I definitely crave a more tart yogurt, but this is a nice option for my my son.

This yogurt place is a pretty iconic San Diego getaway to delicious froyo. Love the flavors they have, and every week they will switch around to unique flavors that taste really amazing. I always watch out for their pineapple flavor because it just tastes top-notch! Their toppings are really good as well with the variety of cereals, nuts, and chocolates, though they don’t offer fresh fruit(doesn’t bother me that much, but for some it might). Customer service there is always great and they are very kind. In all, a really great self-serve yogurt joint.

Nice little post Cowles hike treat. There are a few pros and cons about the place though(I’ve never really listed it this way in a review, but it’s the best way to describe it here). PROS: — It’s FroYo! — They have every chocolate topping you could ever want. — Butterfinger is a flavor here! — .34 per oz — They accept credit cards. — Nice people. Okay nothing is really too yogurt related, but I’m trying my best here because I really want to like this place, but seriously. I have to agree with Dulce R. and say that their flavors are way too sweet. They don’t have a plain tart option which I think is a staple at any frozen yogurt shop. They also don’t have many fresh fruit options. I think the two fruits they did have were in a bath of sugar. Yes, a bath of sugar. I would definitely like it more if there were those two things. Also, they don’t have any seating which is a bummer if you’re coming with a family.

This is by far the best establishment for self service frozen yogurt. I am a die hard yogurt express gal. Not only is the price point stellar. They have a frequent buyer card so I’m always getting free yogurts. But my most enjoyable aspect of it is the topping bar; from Carbo chips to captain crunch there is almost every topping imaginable avaliable. Not to mention the service is always pretty average but never horrible. The place can be a little packed depending on the night but it is totally worth the crowd even on the busiest night.

This place is meh. They don’t a great variety of flavors. Personally, they are all way to sweet. It’s like sugar overload. They don’t offer any tart flavors and only one sugar free. Toppings are ok. Mainly cookies and cereal type stuff. No fresh fruit at all– sad face. They have strawberries covered in syrup, huge disappointment. No seating is available. Prices are super cheap but I guess there’s a reason. I use to come to this place when I was younger before discovering other shops but now going back I have realized its not good. Ill stick to my yogurtland.

Okay so I’ve been here enough times over the summer to not only gain 10 pounds but also warrant an update to my original review. Simply put, it’s my favorite place to grab some frozen yogurt. Prices are very reasonable, they have several flavors plus unique ones and NSA(No Sugar Added) that are always rotating and you can see which ones are available on their website listed by date. They are open until 11:00pm and they have stamp/reward cards for return customers. They also have tons of toppings, I can’t list them all but some of the greatest hits are Oreo dust, graham cracker dust, heath bar, butterfinger bar, gummi bears, cookie dough, peanut butter cups, Reeses Pieces, Oreo cookie chunks, chocolate chips, sprinkles, peanuts, almonds, various cereals… and so on. Their flavors are fantastic. I’ll break down what I’ve tried. The Flavors: Chocolate: It’s chocolate what else is there to say? Peanut Butter: Who doesn’t love PB? It’s good! Salted Caramel: It’s pretty good, an easy favorite. Kahlua: If they have this, you should probably get it. It’s probably my all time favorite. Cake Mix: Delicious. Another easy favorite Mocha Chip: Very good Brownie Delight: More like chocolate. I’ll be honest, it could use more cowbell. Cherry Vanilla: Taste kind of like cough medicine but still kind of good. Orange Vanilla: Like orange cream and pretty sweet. Pistachio: I liked this one. Sweeter than I expected for a NSA(No Sugar Added) Espresso: If you like coffee, this one is awesome. Cap N Crunch: It actually tastes like Cap N Crunch! Loved it. Pro Tips for you Rookies and Yogurt Geeks: –Sample everything because everything is good and you’ll need to make an informed decision. –Make sure to take a stamp card. –Layer your yogurt and toppings. Yogurt-toppings-more yogurt-more toppings. Really Stack em up. –Tap & twist that cup to cram it full of yogurt… Really, explore the space. –Walk it off. Anyway, this place is awesome. Love the flavors, love the toppings, love the prices and love the staff. Get you some frozen yogurt, kids.

I’m here WAY too often. Their flavors page is bookmarked in my phone.(Don’t judge) They have the best flavors out of all the yogurt shops I’ve been to so far. And the yogurt is so just good, I don’t mind the subpar customer service. If any of the following flavors are being served, you best believe I’ll be stopping by! –Cookies and Cream –Mint Chip –Mocha Chip –Chocolate Covered Strawberry –Cinnamon Graham Cracker –Brownie Delight –Irish Mint –Kahlua

Yogurt is ok, only have about 10 Flavors and only one at any given time is sugar free. None are low fat so for people like me that watch their sugar and fat intake, not many choices. The place is clean, the people who run it are nice, not overly friendly or anything but nice enough. The parking lot has really tiny spaces but We’ve found parking both times we’ve been there. It’s not bad and I would go here again but only because there are not many other local options. I would prefer somewhere that offers those low fat no sugar options.

I’ve come here several times since I’ve been living around this area. They always have a great selection of flavors and list them on their website so you don’t have to call in and ask what they have for the day. They have a wide array of toppings to add to your self serve yogurt and leave the sample cups out for people so they can sample as much as they please. That might be a bad thing though, as I see people getting two samples of the same thing, kinda weird. None the less, at 32 cents per ounce, it seems to be a solid price for great yogurt.

This yogurt shop is more convenient for me than Yogurt Land because it is closer to my home. I also prefer this yogurt shop over Golden Spoon down the street ONLY because it is a self-serve shop at 32¢ an ounce. I still prefer Yogurt Land for the Asian inspired flavors and toppings, but if I’m craving something fast, plain, delicious, and as much as I want I’ll stop here. This place has stamp cards. I freaking love stamp cards. They always make me want to come back for more. I think every business should use stamp cards. Give me all of the free stuff!!! This place is also open until eleven pm. That’s later than Golden Spoon. There are always 8 flavors and three of them never change(chocolate, vanilla, peanut butter). If you’re curious about the flavors or craving a particular one, the website updates which flavors will be available throughout the month which is pretty awesome. The website also lists the toppings on their website. They have cereal here. That sounds like a stoner’s wet dream. They also have gift certificates. I’ll message you my address if you want to show me some love. Don’t be shy!!!
