I’ve been enjoying this place for many years now. I’m a healthy eater and enjoy Greek– Middle Eastern food because it is simply healthier than most. The egg lemon soup is fantastic here. I often get the chicken sandwich which includes loads of veggies and feta. Another favorite of mine is the Green chicken salad. You will not often find a salad this good for the price. Speaking of price, the food here is very reasonably priced and even under priced. John, the owner, takes great care in making sure everything is fresh and the staff is extremely friendly. I also noticed how clean this establishment is. Those who complain about a .50 charge for a soda refill should consider the fact that prices here are already low and the cost of doing business is rising. The food and service here is better then some of the fancy Greek restaurants. Many people in the food court tell me they love this place. I recommend strongly that you give it a try. You will be pleased and will surely come back. Rich

As far as mall food goes, this is my fave place. The chicken lemon soup is soo . I like to get that with some pita bread and tzaztiki sauce for a perfect lunch. They also have healthy but tasty chicke wraps. If I want a little bit more food I go with the ¼ chicken special which is filling but nothing over the top. It comes with the yummy rice and a side salad too.

One of the better, healthier options at the food court. Chose the gyro plate. I’m glad they didn’t skimp on the portion as I have seen in other establishments. Customer service on par however, I have to agree with another reviewer about thte 50 cent refill. They need to get rid of that. The drinking cup that comes along with your food isn’t that big to begin with to justify a fee and no other vendor is charging extra for refills. Just saying. Otherwise, if I were in the area again… I’d order from here.

The food is always good although I’ve only had the Gyros sandwich special. Bad that the drink refills are $.50 though as all the other food court businesses don’t charge for the refill.

I’ve been going here for about 5 years. The best gyros in town!

When you see it from the outside, it doesn’t look like much, but that is how some of the best food places are. A hole in the wall. Well I had the French dip sandwich and my husband had a gyro. Both were excellent. Nice portions and the bread from my sandwich was fresh, and melt in your mouth soft. I definitely recommend this place for a quick bite to eat!~

Gyro meat tastes a little funny sometimes… But only sometimes. The tzatziki is kinda bland… Which makes me sad. Salad is pretty good. But uh… The damn cheese sticks… They’re the best I’ve had anywhere! Sometimes if I’m at the mall I grab an order of these fattening little monsters to take home with me. This is a craving I can’t resist, it’s just too good. It’s mall food, so it’s mostly mall meh. But those cheese sticks are like little impish delicious demons sent straight from hell to tempt me from my generally healthy diet.

For some reason, I’m not a fan of the salads here. I think the lettuce they use puts me off. The meats are good, as is the wonderful greek sauce. I usually get a gyro or a gyro salad with mozzarella sticks. The cheese sticks really are fantastic. They mistake ranch for the greek sauce. I’m not sure why… maybe someone labeled them wrong, but they always say they gave me ranch, and it’s never ranch.

Not bad for mall food, however rice was piping hot, had to wait to eat it. Gyro was a tad dry but the tzatziki made it edible. Salad was good.

I was in the market for a gyro and my friend recommended this place. Disgrosting. I didn’t really enjoy eating here at all. The meat was flavorless, as well as its«tzatziki» sauce. I went back and asked for some real tzatziki sauce because i thought they gave me ranch dressing. Nope. The fries were okay, but thats a stretch. Not going to eat here again. Cashier chick was nice though.

Are you all high? This place is an absolute joke and an insult to Greek food. The gyro meat is horrible. It appears they cook it early in the morning, slice it up and then reheat on the grill to order. Dry, overdone, and very little flavor. The tzatziki sauce had zero flavor and not a hint of cucumber. The chicken ‘kabob’ pita was, I kid you not, fajita chicken with green peppers and romaine lettuce. The chicken was sliced thin and it tasted completely out of place on pita bread. Absolute waste of money. Unbelievable.

It’s hard to give food court food anything higher than 3 stars. This establishment is arguably the best one here at the food ct, when you want Greek. Otherwise, find me at Villas Mexican one booth over. The Gyro Lunch Plate served all day is hard to beat for value and healthy eating. Always hot, fresh and tasty, but not the fastest service on the block. Slide on by and give it a try.

After a busy day, I had a quick bite here. I ordered they gyros sandwich for $ 4.99 and a side of onion rings for $ 2.59. This place is located in the La Mesa Grossmont Mall food court. The gyros were a nice surprise. First of all, I am a fan of them because they put a lot of gyros on the pita and they were very tasty. The sandwich had some fresh tomatoes and lettuce. The tasty yogurt dressing came on the side, so I was able to manage how much I wanted on the sandwich. The only thing that I thought was missing was a nice sprinkle of feta cheese, to top it off. Great gyros…( ) The onion were large and good.( ) They onions inside were whole and not minced. They were nicely seasoned and crunchy. Good rings. The service was pleasant and well managed.

Just walk up and order!!! I ordered Chicken Kabob, onions and bell peppers, salad with olive oil, pita bread, and rice too! The seating area is clean, and the staff is friendly! The food takes a few minutes because they cook when you order it. The price is not bad considering the amount of food you are getting. I look foreward to eating here again.

This place would get 5 stars if you were magically transported to a Greek isle upon taking the first bite-or really anywhere more pleasant that the mall food court. But if you don’t mind the neon lights/industrial grey tile/green plastic décor, and a noisy background of exasperated mothers scolding petulant kids, this is a great place for Greek food– or you can skip the whole mall scene and just get take out, which I did. That said, the meal was surprisingly good. I had the ¼ chicken special, with salad, rice, and pita. Both the salad,(crispy, delicious, with yummy dressing), and the pita,(best pita EVER, was it baked today?!), were really good, the rice, meh, it was a pretty color and would fill you up, but I would have preferred more salad. The chicken itself was flavorful and tender, almost falling off the bone. I enjoyed every bite, particularly at the ginormous meal was only $ 6.50. And the girl at the counter was really cool about explaining all the sides and choices.

I was pleasantly surprised to have enjoyed this place. I honestly expected much less when I first ordered. With that being said, this is my review: My boyfriend and I decided to come to the food court so we didn’t have to decide on the same place, which usually takes like 20 minutes for us. However after seeing the other choices(blah), we both decided to eat here. I was happy to see they had a spanikopita plate for only about five bucks! It came with rice and a salad. The spanikopita was good, may have been microwaved, but I was hungry and it hit the spot. My boyfriend got the gyro and seemed to enjoy it a lot. Cheap, quick, and good. And doesn’t look super ghetto like most of the other places in the food court.

My review is based on one of their lunch specials, the $ 5.99 quarter chicken. You get the most tender, juicy and flavorful ¼ chicken, with the choice of 3 sides: greek salad, fruit, pita bread, sm drink, fries or pasta salad. It’s a ton of food and I always have leftovers. Can’t beat the price, either! I normally dislike chicken and find it too dry, but this place is sooo good it’s made me a convert! I have lunch here at least once a week now. P. S. Their lemon rice soup is also very tasty!

This place has some damn good gyro meat. Right at the end of Grossmont Mall’s food court, this place is totally class with it’s white marble-ette fixtures and neon blue piped marquee. How can you not love that? It’s tacky as all hell, but the food is consistently delicious. The gyro meat is tender and flavorful, and the pita bread is surprisingly warm and soft. Nothing about The Greek Gyros II says«mall food». The tzatziki sauce is all kinds of creamy cucumber awesome, and the salad is crispy and fresh and tossed lightly in whatever magic dressing they use for Greek salads these days. I haven’t had the fries in a long time, but damnit if I don’t remember them being seasoned and delicious — they look the exact same today! They give you nice, fat servings for not a lot of money, so that makes them all good in my world. The only problem, the only thing that keeps this from being a four-star dining experience is the ungodly wait you’ll have for your food. It shouldn’t take that long. Dear god, it shouldn’t take that long. It’s not that big of a deal, but every time I’ve visited this location, I’ve had a hefty wait on my hands. No wonder, since it appears that they only staff one person for the kitchen and one at the counter(both very friendly, by the way). Food’s worth the wait, and a lot tastier than some of the other options in the food court.
