The Fish Place

Horrible. Just so horrible. Cold food. Not seasoned. No taste. This place shouldn’t be open to be honest. I’m really not that picky when it comes to seafood, but my dog couldn’t eat this without throwing up. Don’t go here. Trust me.

First of all, the place looks like The Boar’s Nest from The Dukes of Hazzard TV show. Plus the neighborhood looks a little sketchy. I was not expecting much from this place.
When we walked inside I really couldn’t tell if the place was a restaurant, a bar, a dance club, a fish market, or some guy’s man cave. It seemed kind of scattered.
We decided to give it a shot so we ordered a variety of fish dishes. Listen, I’m not trying to be racist but everyone we saw working there was black so I was expecting a «soul food» experience. Brother, if that is what soul food tastes like then sign me up! We swapped food around the table and every dish was amazing. Fresh and well seasoned.
If you’re ever in this part of Texas, stop by and get you a good dose of soul.

After a long day of working on my car, this was a nice little place to chill. Once entering the door, your seating selection is open. They have two bars, a couple of tables, a few booths, dance floor and even an arcade for the gamers.
I sat at the bar to get better viewing of the whole place. I didn’t plan on eating much til I seen the menu and the steak was calling my name!!! For 16.99 my steak dinner came with a salad, loaded baked potato, grilled shrimp, and a buttery large piece of toast. Of course I had a to-​go box.
And my waiter was on point. Before I could ask, she already kinda new what I wanted. She even let me taste test the margaritas. (Gator bite is the biz) and this was a Thursday night.
Try it out if your ever in the area and order one of those really good margaritas!!!

I don’t normally write reviews but I have to say this place deserves one. They have done an awesome job at their remodeling, the new addition is a big step up. There is a new bar and tv’s which help the atmosphere. We dined in on Saturday ⁶⁄₆ and had Kieri as our server. She has been our server before and is very friendly and efficient even taking time to tell us about specials during the week. I had crawfish (even at the price of $ 7.99 was very satisfied since the crawfish were sizable) peel and eat boiled shrimp and the stuffed avacado appetizer is amazing !!! Would recommend to anyone.

The food was ok. I was in the area so it was a first time try for me. Think next time I will get something grilled instead of fried. It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t awesome either. But it is a worth a try back if in the area.

A little divey but the food was great. The fried snapper and shrimp was wonderful and you get quite a bit for the money. I suggest sticking to the seafood. My s.o. Ordered pasta and wasn’t too fond of it.

My Mom had the chicken strips and they were great and I had the combo platter. We liked the food the atmosphere was great the staff was very friendly and helpful. My shrimp was not jumbo and the coleslaw was very vinegary… not the sweet creamy kind. Overall it was good but next time going with grilled or blackened fish.

This place seems a little shady and did not offer a great taste. Coming from the DFW area I decided to try the Catfish & Chicken Tenders all you can eat along with a pound of crawfish. I’ll start with the all you can eat, first off the chicken tenders were actually good however the catfish (while still being relatively ‘ok’) was not fresh. You can tell by the breading (the chicken and the catfish not breaded the same), continuing on the crawfish had absolutely no taste and with it being $ 5.99 a pound with no corn or potatoes it was severely lack luster. The crawfish came out on a small plate and seemed to be shy of a pound. Also there appeared to be some intoxicated diners around 8-​ish on a Thursday night. This place is below average and honestly over priced for what you get.

Not sure how clean this place is, but the taste is great! As far as fried seafood goes, its one of the best. good for to go orders. Prices are fair too.

Had the all-​you-​can-​eat catfish. It was my first time to eat there in 11 years. Most places that have all-​you-​can-​eat catfish fry a bunch of it and it sits under a heat lamp. Not this place. The fish was prepared fresh, and we were told that if we wanted more to let them know before we were out so they could make more. The fish was cooked perfect– nice and firm but still juicy. The place is definitely a but dive-​y, in an old building from the 50’s, but it is definitely worth it!
