Veggiegrill is my new Dojo! They have everything that I’ve been craving as a vegetarian. Buffalo chickin’ sandwich and buffalo wing style carrot sticks(wow) were two things I’ve been itching for as a vegetarian. I also tried a bite of their Santa Fe chickin’ sandwich and it was scrumptious. Fresh veggies with all the flavors that you miss and have been searching for as a vegetarian can be found here.

For those of you who are vegas and feel there is no taste left in life. This place offers a unimaginably delicious vegan food. Whatever u wish for starting soups, to salads to even spicy mock chicken wings and bomber burgers. The place has variety of taste to offer. Super quick service and cool joint in the UTC mall.

The selection is incredible and the prices are reasonable! Veggie grill makes me wish I was vegan so I have an excuse to devour something from their menu everyday: D I usually choose between the BLT, the buffalo bomber, or the Santa Fe crispy chickn. I also like the crispy cauliflower and of course the buffalo wings for a snack. I highly recommend the butternut squash! It’s ridiculously yum

A full meal for just $ 7 if you show your UCSD student ID? What? No way! That was my thought process when my friend told me. Considering that their entrees cost $ 10 and up, this was a pretty great deal since your $ 7 includes an entrée and a drink and who doesn’t love a practically free drink. From what I’ve been told, all their food is vegetarian. I ordered the buffalo bomber and I honestly thought it tasted like real chicken. I kept looking at my wrap and wondering if they just slipped chicken into it and no one would notice. Bravo, Veggie grill, bravo! I am thoroughly impressed. Your fries weren’t half bad either. My friend ordered some type of fried cauliflower and it was so good I kept stealing some of hers. Definitely will come back!

We come to the Veggie Grill at least once a week. The food is always excellent, fresh and healthy. The staff are always friendly. Great place for a quick meal. And I really like their phone app and rewards. Highly recommend.

Love Veggie Grill, I get cravings for their breaded and fried cauliflower with the sweet and sour sauce, my favorite menu item here and usually what I wind up ordering. They have a great selection of items, you really do not miss the meat at all. While I do prefer the items that are not trying to copy meat, pretty much everything I have tried here, I really enjoyed. Service is great, I like the bright and clean vibe of the place as well. Food is made to order, but still comes out quickly. Prices and portions are fair for the quality that you get. Worth checking out for a lighter lunch or dinner that won’t leave you feeling guilty the rest of the day!

Veggie Grill, located in the UTC mall has WIDE selection of healthy eats. I am totally hooked on the salad here, and I’m not even a salad lover. The times that I’ve came the line was almost out the door, which shows how popular this spot is. FOOD: -**Fresh Little Salad with citrus vinaigrette**: fire-roasted carrots, romaine and arugula mix, cucumbers, shaved red beets -**All Hail Kale Salad with ginger-papaya vinaigrette**: marinated kale, quinoa, red cabbage slaw, tomato corn salsa, agave-roasted walnuts PROS: healthy, fresh, and scrumptious salads, great customer service with friendly and helpful cashier, located near the edge of the mall CONS: long wait at times with busy lunch rush

Mmmm. I will definitely be coming here a lot more from now on. I came here on a weeknight about an hour before closing and it was relatively empty. After consulting the menu and the cashier, I decided on the Bombay Bowl. My food came out pretty quickly, and — oh my — it smelled delicious. The taste fortunately matched the smell, and I found myself enjoying the food A LOT. The amount of flavor was incredible, but it also somehow felt very«clean» as well. After clearing the entire bowl, I was expecting to feel sluggish(honestly, how can something that tastes THAT good not have that effect… ok, well very few things), but that was strangely not the case — I felt energized, a feeling that continued through about the 4 hours that it kept me feeling full or at least«pleasantly satisfied.» Overall, I highly recommend this place. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the food is absolutely great. Did I also mention that they offer some sort of discount/deal for students? Yep, I’ll definitely be coming back.

Dropped by here for the first time today and whew, such delicious food. It’s a pretty easy place to dine at, as you order your food at the cashier(a la Panera) and then they bring it to you. Nice menu and lots to choose from, although I can’t believe I missed the seasonal menu card that was at the register. Ordered the pick 2 combo with the savory kale ceasar salad(so good) and the soup of the day(a butternut squash type). Also got a drink(free refills!) of their ginger hibiscus which was just amazing. Definitely my favorite item of the menu! Service was awesome, prices not too bad, and the food didn’t take long to arrive. All very good things, so hope to return soon.

Minus a star for absolutely zero festivity firing Christmas time. BORING!!! NODECOR. NOHAPPYMUSIC. NADA. So, minus points for atmosphere. Anyhow, for an all veggie restaurant, it is a little overpriced too. Had a bottle of Bruce cost ginger ale and it was pretty good!

I love this place! Ordered the buffalo wings, fried chicken plate with mashed cauliflower and grilled carrots, and the fried cauliflower bites. The buffalo wings were awesome! If you normally eat meat, you might not be used to them but as a vegetarian, I thought they were delicious. The fried chicken with mashed cauliflower and gravy was amazing too, though I wished they put a little more gravy. It’s hard to find anything like mashed potatoes and gravy that are vegan that taste this good. The fried chicken was good too but you have to eat while it’s hot and still crunchy otherwise after a few minutes of sitting in the gravy it gets a little softer. The grilled carrots make carrots taste good, especially when dipped in the sauce from the fried cauliflower bites. Lastly the cauliflower bites were crunchy and yummy. The fried breaded outer crust was just done perfectly and left the inside cauliflower still white and crunchy. I usually go with the Santa Fe but today I went with an assortment of appetizers and plates and I was even more impressed than before. Props to a great meal!

Today I’m lunching on the Sonoran Bowl, a new item, which is excellent and tasty. Why only three stars then? As I try to eat healthier, I still crave burgers. The Veggie Grill has basically nine burgers/sandwiches, many of which are very tempting, but only ONE not made with tofu/soy beans. And that’s a portobello burger. Where are the non-tofu alternatives that aren’t a giant fungus patty? Another problem? The menu doesn’t indicate which items are tofu-free and which are basically full of soy. The person behind the counter has a laminated list of items you can see on demand, but shouldn’t there be something on the menu for those not wanting(or tolerating) soy products, like there is for gluten-phobes? There is a little symbol indicating that various items are«gluten-friendly», as they say. That would be really helpful! So while I really like the Veggie Grill, they really could make this easier, and just put a symbol on the menu. Also, it would be nice of tofu didn’t dominate the menu items. I know that it is cheap, but it just takes a little creativity!

Veggie grill is one of my favorite spots. As a new vegan, eating out can be more of a challenge but it’s nice to have places where you can order anything off the menu and remain animal product free. Not to mention, it’s delicious. Try the tempura green beans. Love that crunch ! The BTLA is also a good choice. Still trying to make my way through all the various menu items and having a yummy time doing it !

Between my two friends and I, we ordered two dishes(one was a Mexi-Cali style quinoa bowl and the other was the harvest bowl), a «chicken» sandwich, sweet potato fries and buffalo«chicken» strips. Fake chicken definitely tastes like chicken, so if you’re trying to be a bit healthier I think this could be a great place to start! My quinoa bowl was very very filling, and I was able to take half of it home and eat it for the next day’s lunch. The quinoa was well cooked, and the bowl came with black beans, pico de gallo, avocados and cooked carrots with some sauce. I thought the flavor was lacking a bit so I added some Tapatio and yaaaas super delicious. I recommend the sweet potato fries, the sauce that it comes with is really good! The buffalo«chicken» strips are also very yummy. All in all, for my first time I had a pleasant experience and I would definitely come back! :D

A good cheat meal option for Vegans, conveniently located inside the UTC Mall. The Irvine started fast food chain has two locations in San Diego County, here and Carlsbad. Not as much emphasis on raw and whole foods as LA area based Café Gratitude, it’s more palatable for meat eaters or beginner vegetarians, and still offers organic and Non-GMO plant based dishes to please everyone in between. I started with the mac and cheese, a common temptation I have Vegan or otherwise. Elbow noodles with a cashew cheeze sauce and topped with toasted breadcrumbs. On par with Annie’s boxed version but still a craving satisfier. For mains, I had the VG Cheeseburger. A hearty Gardein style patty, topped with Chao Original Cheese(Best Vegan Sliced Cheese IMHO), and loaded with your tradition fixin’s. Comes with your choice of Yukon Gold Fries, Coleslaw, or the fall special of Butternut Squash Soup. Decent, but a step down from the best. I ended the meal with the current dessert specialty, Chocolate Parfait Pudding. Creamy rich pudding, crumbled Oreo’s(Vegan FYI), and whipped soy topping. Standout item of the meal with an intense chocolate flavor rather than just sugar. Highly recommend. Try it out if you’re in UTC and have a hankering for something different.

UTC’s Vegetable Option that’s worth a try, even if you’re a meat eater. Glazed Tofu Banh Mi(Kale Style) — Knife and fork strips of extra firm tofu over a bed of chopped Kale. The pile of components on top was a smörgåsbord of flavors(Mint, Cilantro, Basil, and Jalapeño chips. The Jalapeño chips were hand cored to remove all of the capsaicin laden seeds. A Very nice touch!!) The accompanying fries were also good. — The menu can be confusing for the novice, so perhaps stick with a chickn’ burger or salad. — Good quality Iced Teas. — Service was nice and Felix even asked if I wanted a togo cup rather than the tradition dine in plastic cup. Very nice because I could fill up and take my drink back to work.

I’ve said before but I really do like that places like this provide a nice easy way to be vegetarian/vegan. And that’s coming from someone who is as far away from that as possible. Well ok, not that far I guess since I willingly try these places. They’re not as in your face as other places about their lack of meat which is a plus actually, depending on what you order you might not even notice. I ordered the VG Cheeseburger and while it obviously can’t hold a candle to a real cheeseburger it was filling and tasted good. I think if i had ordered the«fish» or «chicken» it would be even less obvious. The employee who took our order was very considerate about looking up ingredients in the entrees for allergy/diet information. Thanks!

This was a rather disappointing experience for a veggie grill. We stopped in for a late lunch around 2:30 so it wasn’t the heart of lunch time. They had one register running so the line was going just a little slow but not that bad. The issues came as we made our way to our table. At least the first 4 we walked past were filthy and covered in dirty dishes. We found an empty booth that was relatively clean. Across the way there was a table that was just filthy and no one sitting at it. The young lady who was delivering food walked past it several times. Someone needs to coach her about full hands out, full hands in. When you deliver orders to the tables head back to the kitchen with the empty dishes in the dining room. When the nice young man who took our order brought our food out he finally took the plates in from the table across the way. He was the only redeeming factor to the experience that was riddled with dirty tables, sticky counters, cold fries and not crispy tofu in the banh mi. Maybe next time…

Good tasty food! Came to UTC with a friend for dinner and we had intended to go to Tender Greens for a salad. The line was a bit long there and we saw a sign for Veggie Grill and decided to check them out since neither of us had been. Veggie Grill is by Macys near the kids playground. Both my friend and I had been to UTC several times, but have not really noticed Veggie Grill. Since this was my first time here I went with pick a pair. I chose the mini buffalo wrap and the savory kale caesar. My friend ordered Mediterranean toss with feta. The savory kale was good. I usually do not mix kale and romaine lettuce together in a salad, but the combination was good and worked. Avocado and the huge croutons were great additions to the salad. The half serving of the salad was a decent amount. The mini wrap was also good. There are several items on the menu that look good, so I’ll definitely be back. Right now they do have a separate summer menu with additional items.

I absolutely love this place, I’m a new fan. Came here after watching Mad Max, may I say that movie is AMAZING. Go watch it if you haven’t. But anyways I got to try the BLTA, soooo good. Taste just like bacon. Also had the santa fe crispy chicken and it was delightful, it tastes just like chicken. And no I’m not one of those people who have to eat food where it tastes like real meat. I’m totally fine with veggies. The service was great and the food is great. Would definitely come back here if I’m in the area.
