Great Pataya and acai bowls but the worst service I have EVER come across. No need to serve attitude with the healthy and refreshing snack!

Well… Requested the Organic Breakfast Burrito as a bowl instead of a wrap since I can’t eat gluten, and they kindly accommodated. But I also got a side of hair, which was not that appetizing… I really want to like you guys!

My acai mission brought me over to Juice Kaboose and I ordered an ironman acai bowl. I love that they have several options and sizes. They have a small spot with easy access to just run in and grab something quickly. Service was quick and my bowl was ready fast! The ironman bowl had lots of fruit and granola which was great. The part I wasn’t crazy about was the acai. It was a pretty loose/watery consistency. Great patio outside. Street parking. #sandiegofoodgirls

I always get the original acai with just strawberries. For the most part, I really like it because I love the granola they use and the sweetness of the acai mix. The only thing is that they’re pretty inconsistent with the amount of fruit they give each time.

It’s okay I found the smoothies a little too watery for me I would of guesses it was juice. But flavors were nice I would probably give another chance and ask for what recommend to not have it so thinned out next time

Pros: As you can probably tell from the photos, these acai bowls are huge and super satisfying for $ 7(which I believe is cheaper than the going rate for acai bowls in La Jolla). I love how light and crisp the granola is, as well as the amount of fruit that is piled on top. The flavor of the acai bowl is good and they blend it up right in front of you. It’s a pretty guilt-free treat because I know it’s full of good ingredients and it doesn’t taste like it’s overloaded with sugar. There’s some nice open-air seating in the back of the shop for you to enjoy your bowls, and the beach is only a short walk away. Everything about this place has a very beachy, La Jolla-esque vibe. Cons: Personally, I like my acai bowls to be of a thicker consistency. Also, I’ve been here twice, and the fruit can be hit or miss. The strawberries were sort of mushy and the pineapples didn’t taste freshly cut.

I tried the Iron Man acai bowl from here and I really regret it. I was the only one inside and it took about 10 minutes to make the bowl. It was also the most liquidy acai bowl I’ve ever had — a smoothie has thicker consistency. It was very drippy, it was like being given a melted acai bowl. The flavor itself was very disappointing as well — tasted purely like protein powder, I barely got any fruit flavor. The good things — plenty of fruit piled on top and there was plenty of street parking at 5 pm on a weekday. But I can get a pile of fruit elsewhere.

MYFAVORITEACAIBOWLPLACEINSD! This place is the place to go for acai bowls! They come in huge, long containers filled about halfway with acai mix and the other half with their DELICIOUS, crunchy granola(definitely the best granola, in my opinion) and fresh fruits. I always get the Rise & Shine Acai Bowl which has cocoa and espresso mixed with their signature acai mix, topped with granola, bananas, pineapple, and strawberries. Sometimes they hook it up with the fruit, but I have also experienced when they have skimped out a bit on the fruit. But other than that, the acai mix is always delicious. I have also had their Lotta Beta Bowl which is more on the less sweet, healthier side because of the beets, but this is still also delicious if I’m not feeling too much of a sweet tooth. For $ 8, these bowls are well worth it! Their smoothies are also always really fresh and you can watch them make it fresh right in front of you. They are super nice about doing customizations on any orders. I always add spinach to my smoothies and sometimes change around the fruit ingredients and they are always super willing to do that. I always call in for pick-up so my acai bowl is ready by the time I get there and the workers are nice and courteous over the phone in getting my order and also in person. I live far from this place(located in DT La Jolla), but I am willing to make the drive for their acai bowls or smoothies and never have any regrets! *Sign up for the Belly Rewards and scan it to get treats and rewards from them!*

I ordered their original Acai bowl and my fiancé ordered the green lemonade. The original Acai bowl comes in this huge cup with granola, fresh strawberries, pineapple, and bananas. It’s okay. Doesn’t really have taste to the Acai. But the fruit makes it taste a little better. The green lemonade my fiancé ordered was really good! I can taste the ginger and the juiced lemon. Overall, this place is good but I would still recommend a try at their juices.

Juice Kaboose officially stole my heart. I came here around 6:25PM, and they were closing at 7PM. But customer service was still EXCELLENT and the man making our pitaya bowl was SUPER friendly! Literally gave him a thumbs up before we left. I ordered: –1 regular size«Nutty Dragon»($ 8): THISISWHAT A PITAYABOWLSHOULDBE! I’ve tried many other places and they don’t compare. Their granola is also really special– its not heavy but rather, super light and fluffy! They add ORGANICPEANUTBUTTER, lots of fresh(frozen) fruits and top it off with pineapples, bananas(a whole one!) and strawberries! If you love peanut butter and pitaya– COMEHERE! GETTHIS. OMG, I WANTITAGAINANDAGAIN. Pros: –Amazing service. The man(not sure if he is owner?) was so helpful and making small talk with us the whole time. –Great prices. VERY reasonable for the quantity and quality! –Awesome menu. Seriously, look around. It’s a powerhouse of stuff. –Just amazing! This is what I would eat every night instead of ice cream. And I love ice cream. Cons: –Errr I would deter from selling wraps here, to be honest. I won’t give those a try since«juice» is in it’s name, so yeah… Tips/Observations: –Sign up for a Belly Card! After 50 points, you get a free bowl of your choice! –Located across from Vons plaza! Not much parking here, so get here by foot. I kind of want people to try and not really? Yes because it’s amazing but no because I don’t want it to get too crowded…

I stopped in the Kaboose, not for some juice nor smoothie, but for a California Wrap. The wrap came on a Southwest Chipotle Tortilla and came filled with a variety of healthy ingredients. All the ingredients were very good, but they put way to much fresh spinach in the wrap that made it hard to taste and enjoy the rest of the ingredients in the wrap, especially the roasted turkey and avocado. I had pick both out to taste them for their quality. The turkey was simple, tender, and mildly seasoned and the avocado ripe and creamy. Both the black beans and brown rice were well cooked with tender individual morsels, and the Swiss cheese in the wrap, was hardly noticeable given they only placed one slice in the wrap. In the end, more cheese please. The red onions and tomatoes were in the wrap, just in small numbers, but like I said, there were way to much greens in the wrap which underscored the rest of the ingredients. However, I could see how some people would like that. Nevertheless, it was a good wrap and I would not kick it out. Also, the employees, two young ladies, where absolutely sweet hearts and up beat. Good service at this location. Oh yes, if you go online to their website, they offer coupons.

In need of a pick-me-up to sustain the tummy, soul, and spirit on the long drive home, I decided to make a quick stop at Juice Kaboose. Don’t judge me – I’m basic at my best. It was 6:50 pm on a Saturday evening, and I vividly remembered that the store closed in a little over ten minutes. In an attempt to not be that girl rollin’ up to the drive-thru with a 500 Chicken McNugget order a minute before closing at MickeyD’s, I was hustling. And to be honest, the expansive menu didn’t make anything easier as each option seemed to offer up something seemingly«healthier» than the last. You thought you wanted the Pitaya bowl, but why don’t you try it with spinach and an extra helping of strawberries. A dusting of bee pollen or chlorella? Sure thing, but at a small additional cost. This place is truly a health nut’s heaven. After a few minutes worth of deliberation made easier by the kindness and consideration the two employees, I ordered the Pitaya bowl WITH the spinach to hit that five-a-day. Mom would be proud – especially once she saw the little beaut. The pictures don’t lie. The standard-sized bowls here are absolutely massive – enough for the hungry, and barely enough for the hangry. For the standard human though? I honestly suggest sharing. The portions are definitely enough for two. My bowl came with a generous array of bananas, blueberries, and sliced strawberries, and an even more generous literal fist-full of hemp granola. They definitely were not going for the minimalistic sprinkle with that, and all for the low, low price of 7 – 8 dollars! If only you could take a peep into my soul right now. It. Is. Smiling! However, just one look at my bulging belly would also do… A definite favorite in SD!

I came here with my friend because the pictures on Unilocal of the acai bowls are huge! This is a real tiny shop, with a lot of selections. They don’t just have acai bowls, they have pitaya as well! they have so many selections of both acai and pitaya. Their regular size ranges between $ 7 – 8. Their mega size is $ 15 I believe and it’s 2 of the regulars. I love dragon fruit so I had to get the managua pitaya bowl. It came with strawberries, pineapple and granola. It was delicious. My friend ordered the regular acai bowl. It looked beautiful but her acai wasn’t thick like mine. It was liquidy and it tasted bland, like watered down. I think it’s because they blend their acai. Usually it’s just an icecream or its SOO fresh that you don’t need to blend it. But the guy worker that blends the drinks was super nice! Great staff!

My to go to place for pitaya bowls! Fast service and yummy food. What else can you ask for? And not to mention the portion sizes are HUGE. One can easily be shared between two people if you’re not too hungry. If you eat one by yourself, I promise you will feel both full and energized. I’ve never tried their smoothies because the pitaya bowls always grab my attention but I will make an effort to try one of them in the near future.

Great bang for your buck. Unfortunately, it was waaay too watery. I felt like I needed a straw to consume this. Service was lightning fast. I paid, went to go grab a spoon, and voila! my pitaya bowl was ready.

What you need to know: this place has one of the best Acai bowls in San Diego. The actual Acai mix doesn’t taste too sweet or too sugary and they use a mellower taste that includes soy milk. The bowls also have very good hemp granola and they have a huge pile of bananas, strawberries, and ripe mango on top. This little shack also cranks out a bunch of really good smoothies and vegetable juices. They have really good fresh squeezed orange juice and have lots of powder supplements and protein snacks to have as well!

Great local smoothie shop. The variety of the blended drinks is great. You can make substitutions at no charge. The prices already include tax. In addition to fantastic and healthy smoothies, they also got acai bowls and sandwiches. There is a cute outdoor patio to sit and enjoy the sun and the ocean breeze.
