Hair Nouveaux – Suzanne Beltaire

Having super curly hair, i was REALLY skeptical going somewhere new. I read good reviews about Suzanne, so I decided to take a chance. She ended up doing a FANTASTIC job. She listens to what I want and she executes it flawlessly. I’ve gotten my hair cut a couple of times, and am going in for highlights this week.
Some of the reviews about her not being a typical professional are true, but i think it is just part of her charm. Her skills are far more than worth it! I definitely recommend her.

Suzy is great with hair! She has a great vision and is very friendly and professional. I always feel pampered and in good hands when she does my hair. If you are looking for an experienced, talented and serious stylist — book an appt with Suzanne.

They really shouldn’t be only one $. I called asking how much for a woman’s trim and Suzanne herself told me $ 50. The most expensive woman’s trim I could find for $ was $ 20. they need to change that so college students on a budget like myself (or any other person that can’t afford a $ 50 woman’s trim) won’t be misled.

Suzanne blew my mind with her personability, knowledge about hair, and absolutely excellent haircut that she gave me. I literally walked away from my appointment with her having «the haircut» that I’ve always wanted. The appointment started with a hair consultation and I was highly impressed by the fact that just by looking at my hair, Suzanne knew that it was blonde when I was a child and that my hair today is, in fact, still blonde (natural dark blonde, to be exact — I’ve had it checked against a color wheel several times in the past) and that I am not a brunette. The manner in which Suzanne cut my hair was very unique and precise. I’ve never had anyone cut my hair that way before, but it left me with the long layers in my hair that I’ve wanted for years. :D I highly, highly recommend Suzanne. You will not be disappointed if you choose to get a haircut from her. She is excellent at what she does and I will for sure return to her in the future.

I had purchased a package where you can pick 3 treatments from this location. Gives u a haircut and 2 facials. Got my hair done by Suzanne and she was awesome. Very nice, very cool and straight forward. She knows what she’s doing and can make suggestions if u have no idea what u wanna do. I felt very comfortable with her right away. This is a cute tucked away business and the parking kinda sucks but overall a great place for a haircut. I made an appt for a hair color in a couple weeks, we will see how it goes!

Suzanne did my hair today and she was great! Not only did she give me a ton of great tips but she also listened to all of my crap. Great hair stylist, you should definitely book an appointment with her, I know I will again.

I bought a package deal with this company with the intentions on using it for a special occasion. This weekend was that occasion so I made an appointment. Today I drove an hour and a half in rush hour traffic to get there, and, knowing it was going to make me late, I let my stylist know and she said it was fine. When I got there though they wouldn’t even see me! Then when I asked for a refund they wouldn’t even give me my money back. I never spend money on myself, so this one nice thing meant a lot to me, and these people completely ruined that for me. If you are looking for friendly and caring staff, don’t come here! Not to mention, the place is kind of a shack.

Walked in for a haircut and blowout. Stylist was good, friendly, skilled. They use some sort of strong menthol-​infused shampoo that made my scalp tingle almost to the point of burning… can’t decide if I liked it or not. Interior of salon seriously needs a facelift — bad lighting, very small cramped stations for each stylist, lots of clutter and outdated fixtures… nothing «nouveaux» about this place that I could see. Stylist and receptionist waited until the end of my haircut to tell me that they weren’t accepting credit cards; would have appreciated knowing that at the beginning of my appointment. Professionalism could also use improvement; when I walked in and asked, «How much would it be to cut and blow dry my hair?» the stylist and receptionist seemed confused and appeared to just make up a price on the spot… I agreed because it was it a reasonable amount and I was desperate for a quick trim. Stylist had to stop in the middle of my haircut to answer the phone because the receptionist was nowhere to be found.

I went to Hair Nouveax last week and Suzanne did my hair for me. She was super nice and I went in with no idea as to what I wanted done and walked out with a great haircut. She just looked at me and knew something that would look really good on me. I’ll definitely be going back to Suzanne next time!

I used to go to Hair nouveaux when I was a La Jolla resident. I had stumbled upon it one day and struck up a conversation with the owner Lorie who became my hairdresser for a few years, then I moved. Besides the fact that Lorie is incredibly competent and respectful of your hair desire, Hair nouveaux is, by la Jolla standards, very affordable. The clientele is mostly local and mature (age-​wise); thus, a few of the hairstylists there are very much set into their respective routine, but not Lorie. So if you plan on checking it out, ask for her!

The guy I had was really standoff-ish…so I was hard to kind of convey what I wanted done to my hair. He did a pretty standard cut to my hair, so it’s hard to mess that up. Nothing extraordinary about this place from my experience.
