I love this place. We have been coming here for at least 8 years. The owner is an amazing woman who is a great supporter of the la habra community. I always feel the need to support our neighborhood and I feel a kinship with Rosie that she feels the same way. This restaurant was the provider for the La Habra high school heritage program tamale fundraiser while our kids were in school which raised lots of money for the program thanks to Rosie and her staff. The food is great and we get all our parties catered from here. Our family and friends always want to know where we get our food and of course we send them to La Ranchera. My favorite lunch is the Chile verde! Hubby loves the carnitas. So stop in and say hi.

The owner has always been as nice as can be, she even shared how to make tamales. My favorite thing has been to go in and purchase fresh, warm tortillas and fresh chips. A few weeks ago I went in for tortillas and was told they no longer sell them in the restaurant, I needed to go to the side of the building to purchase them. Well I went around the building to the shop where I was to buy the tortillas and chips and found it was actually a water shop. I found the chips and tortillas sitting on the counter, obviously not warm. There was not any one working in the store I called out know one came waited ten minutes and decided I would just leave the money and take the tortillas and chips as walking out finally some one approached me and said they didn’t see me. I was told that the tortillas were fresh from the day before and then was told I should try the water. Went home made my tacos and the tortillas were just not fresh like they use to be. Then went in yesterday for a taco, which was good and asked if I could just buy the tortillas there but I was told NO and was very disappointed and didn’t bother to go around the corner for day old tortillas. I will miss this place and it’s owner.

I’m in town for work and landed on this taqueria nearby. I ordered two asada tacos and got a free«Aqua Fresca» from checking in on Unilocal.Unlike most taqueria places, they don’t have a salsa bar! But they bring out chips and salsa for you after you order. And that salsa is soooo good. It made up for not having a salsa bar! The tacos were really good too. I even asked for more salsa to eat with my tacos and the lady that was working there was really nice about it. Just FYI, they charge extra if you use your debit or credit card. 4 stars for good tacos and yummy salsa. 1 star off for charging debit/credit card fee.

Had been here a few times but today was the absolute worst! Came in after work to pick up dinner, the lady at the counter is rude AF while I’m placing my order. Get my food, get home, open the bags, sit down to eat and I find Deli Mex Tacos in my to go box!!! WTF are you kidding me??? I just spent over $ 30 bucks on dinner for me and the fam to get Deli Mex frozen taquitos??? Never again!!! Stay away…

Short and simple, recently ordered some tamales for my work Christmas party and was pleasantly surprised that they were a HIT!:) Ordered pork and green cheese and loved them both! Price is about $ 20 for a dozen. The ladies are nice and ready to take your order. Parking can be tight and usually full, so if you have someone with you if have them go in and pick them up while you wait in the car lol Definitely will be back to try the burritos and tacos! Happy to have found my go to tamale spot!:)

Always a solid choice for good Mexican food. The family dinner specials are what we usually order to go. Great price and quality food. What more could you want?

This restaurant provided tamales for a fund raiser at La Habra High School. They are VERY good! I’m a fan. Although I have never been to the restaurant for a meal, I will make a special trip to eat there now. Great job on the tamales!

Rosa is dope! Sweetheart. I’m writing a review after coming here twice. Tacos are solid and tonight I got the quesadilla. Couldn’t decide if I wanted it with carne asada or chorizo and Rosa was like«I like the way you think, don’t trip, I’ll put both meats» lol customer service ! It was a little greasy, probably because of the chorizo but it was good ! My boyfriend has gotten the wet burrito which was good but tonight he was stoked about the tripas burrito. Crunchy tripas were bomb cooked to his liking. Also the agua de pepino was good too. Not many places like this in La Habra so it’s cool that we found this little gem.

I had the carne asada taco combo. It was very, very good! They are a little stingy with the rice and beans, but still very good. However, I got three pork tamales to go. They were pretty bad. The masa was very dry and crumbly, the filling ok. I ate two and threw out the third. My carne asada taco search is over, but my tamale search continues.

I’m Mexican. The paquete de carnitas is good! You get rice, beans, tortillas, and salsa.

My eternal search for amazing street tacos continues as I am met with one disappointment after another. I came here with such high hopes, I mean, the pictures looked so tasty and the ratings were good. I daydream about the mouthwatering flavors of taco shops like Taco el Gordo in Chula Vista. What I ordered tonight(tacos): Birria Asada Al pastor Carnitas The meat in the tacos were flavored well, but really, really dry. The carnitas, which is usually my absolute favorite, was actually pretty bland. The birria was the one that wowed me, as it was moist and flavorful with a little bit of a spicy kick. The side of refried beans was also really delicious with a nice thick texture, perfect mouthfeel(probably made with lard, but who cares?! You’re having tacos!), and salty cheesiness. It’s hard to comment on the prices because while the tameles and tacos are super cheap: I think $ 1.75 and $ 1.50, respectively, the other dishes are a little pricey for a hole-in-the-wall(e.g. the 5 taquitos plate is just shy of $ 7). It is by no means expensive, it’s just I have been to many taco shops that charge less for similar dishes. Anyway, I will continue my search! If anyone has any suggestions for the Whittier area, please do send me a message and share the foodie knowledge.

The food is a little over-priced. I ordered a Carne Asada quesadilla plate with rice and beans on the side. I believe they use mozzarella cheese for their quesadillas. It was pretty delicious! They also gave us free chips and salsa. The salsa was yellow and very spicy. Mexicans love their spice! Haha. The salsa was alright. The flavor was kind of bland, but spicy as hell. My friend said they put habanero chili in their salsa sometimes. I’m guessing they probably did it that day? haha. With the spice, I had an agua fresca drink to chase it down with. I ordered the strawberry banana. It tasted fake. Like, not authentic agua fresca. Usually authentic Mexican drinks have real fruit. I felt theirs consisted of powder mix and lots of sugar. I drank less than ¼ of it. Cool things about this place: — Their water dispensers. Saw a couple of people coming in to refill their big water jugs. FORDAFREE… I think. It was the same spot they told me to fill my water cup too. I was kinda confused at first, then I thought it was pretty cool haha. — They sell different kinds of salsas and goodies in their refrigerators. — It’s my friend’s restaurant. But even though she’s my friend, I cannot be biased. This restaurant is good, but not great. I’m open to trying their other food though!

The food is great, but the staff that works the salsa and tortilla side are rude. The guy working literally didn’t say a single word to me and I speak both Spanish and English. Tried making conversation but remained silent. Other than that this place has great food, albeit a bit over priced.

Wow ! I wanted to see what the hype was about the place and the great reviews it gets and indeed there carne asada tacos are amazing what sets it apart from the other Mexican places I’ve been to is the flavor of the meat it’s just darn tasty combined with that softness of the corn tortillas is like a match made in heaven indeed.

*4 stars* This place hits the spot when you’re craving tacos! These tacos are some of the softest, best seasoned that I’ve ever had. I ate there twice before I did my review to be sure… and I’m sure :-) The restaurant itself is a little hole-in-the-wall(which is why you should never judge a book by its cover) and you’ll drive right by it if you’re not careful. It’s located in a tiny little strip mall with its own parking lot. The price is right and the food is good! Perfect takeout spot. You can eat there, of course, but there’s no restroom offered(just a little FYI). When I’m in the area and craving Mexican food, I’ll choose La Ranchera Taqueria. It’s very authentic.

Delicious, consistent and reasonable leaning on cheap all things considered. I recommend getting whatever meat you enjoy the most, as no meat is terrible and none stands out. Ask for grilled onions and make sure to tell them no onions or cilantro if you’re not a fan.

Read below. But this is to warn you that $ 1 monday taco is adiós. Four tacos and a can of soda is $ 7.25 here. The value is not there considering lilys, cilantros and plethora of establishments in barria la habra. Chile is damn good here. Unilocal check in gives u a free medium aqua fresca. Today was spinach y limon rika blah blah. Look at pic. May reconsider giving another star. Its too traumatic to lose $ 1 taco. Its $ 1.50 normal price. Well i normally eat 5 – 8 so yeah… Its a bummer. If anything minus 1 star for the fly problem. Normally having a large fan at the door handles that.
