Decided to give this place a try this evening. When it comes to Chinese food, you either get absolutely awesome or absolutely horrible. Well after taking one bite, I went with horrible. I won’t bash the place, I just won’t be returning. The chicken was so overcooked and just terrible. I don’t like throwing $ 40 down the drain, but you never know unless you try. At least the steamed rice was good.

The place is not much to look at… please stop here. Food was very good. The orange chicken actually tasted like orange chicken. Very fresh and light even with the breaded dishes. Hot and sour soup was ok, but the egg rolls were awesome. The bonus is the doughnuts. Supa yummy. This is our Chinese place in Buda/Kyle!

Put in an order for Chinese delivery a few weeks back, finally getting around to reviewing… Pros: + Lots of food for the price + Lo mein was very tasty and flavorful + Delivery was quick. Like 20 minutes quick. + Whoa eggroll! So good, why aren’t all eggrolls this good? Cons: — Mongolian beef was bland, as was the fried rice. — Orange chicken was soggy. I’ll give them another shot. May ask for extra sauce or something.

This is traditional Chinese made by a lovely family. The portions are huge for the money– the egg rolls are the best, and overall my wife craves this place at least once every week or two. They throw in free donuts sometimes, free egg roll with a purchase over $ 15. Three delight or two delight are wonderful, I typically tell them to add vegetables to anything we get, so– if you’re in the mood for authentic chinese, this place is worth the time!

Great hot, fresh food. very large portions. The fried egg rolls were very good. Staff was very friendly. They have lunch specials and they deliver in Kyle. This place is the best Chinese/Asian food in Kyle!

Yuck. The reviews on this were great, but I should have listened when they said that the General Tso’s Chicken tastes like frozen chicken poppers covered in ketchup. The Beef Lo Mien was great and you definitely get a ton of food in just one plate!

Since there is no decent place to get Chinese food this is as good as it gets. They give you a lot of food and the donuts are great. Not to mention the people who work here are very kind, and give great customer service.

Our favorite and only go to place for Chinese in Kyle! We recently moved to Kyle from RR and had to find a new Chinese place. We tried a few places that just were not good. Drove by this place and decided to stop and order some food to bring home. Can I just say this place gives huge portions! So worth the money. We usually order 3 different meals to share between 2 adults and 2 kids. We always have leftovers. We tell everyone to order from here if they want great Chinese!

LOVE this place simply because they deliver! The food was good, our first time having it and we got the shrimp fried rice, beef broccoli, general tsaos and the egg rolls all very good and still hot when delivered. My only reason for giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because before I finished my order over he phone I got hung up on and she didn’t let me know the total. All in all we will eat here again! And we love their donuts, we’ve had them several times and are always happy :)

Not good. Disappointing in fact. Soggy food. Fried rice had no flavor and was very bland. General Tso’s chicken was soggy and bland as well. Pad Thai smelled like seafood when I ordered beef. Called to find out they heavily use fish oil in it and I’m allergic… so that got tossed in the garbage. Doubtful we will try again.

I say 3 stars. My wife says 4. She really liked the chicken fried rice. I liked the egg rolls. The rest was just okay. But they deliver in Kyle so that wins me over.

They deliver. Which is a huge plus for the Kyle area. Portions are huge. Food was hot and fresh. And cheap. I didn’t care for the hot & sour soup. The entrees were ordered were good. The steamed rice was perfectly cooked and I really enjoyed it… the pepper steak was tender but the sauce was really watery. Egg rolls were tasty. The man liked the General Tao’s chicken. I thought it tasted like hot ketchup, but he liked it. 4 stars for sure because I didn’t have to cook it!

Love this place!!! I have been to many Chinese food places but this is one of my top 3. The hot & sour soup is a must try I order it spicy. I’m not going to lie this place looks sketchy donuts and Chinese food in one place? But omg the donuts are amazing as well. Did I mention how cheap this place is? Big portions cheap prices good food.

HUGE portions. They aren’t the best at packing the food well and the chicken fried rice was kinda bland; but everything else was good.

Food was good but wasn’t exceptional like I had expected. Crab Rangoons were on point though.

While its not much to look at, inside or out, the food at Hays City Chinese & Donuts is outstanding. As others have noted, the portions are large — basically two meals for the price of one. The Wonton soup was quite tasty. We eat so much we didn’t get to the egg rolls. We took them home and had them as leftovers, still great. And how about those donuts! Get an apple fritter, you won’t be disappointed.

Love the huge portions… food was delicious and the waitress was very nice. The food compared to my favorite restaurants in Houston! We will definitely be back… we walked in and they let me use the coupon for a free egg roll that was in the to-go menu at the counter. Also, not a long wait!

One of my favorite Chinese places I know of. Excellent food! Portions are large, so price is great for what you pay for. I do not think I have had anything I did not like from here. Probably had Chinese food from here 8 – 10 times over the past 2 years. The donut side is great too! I have swung in many times going to work in the mornings.

This place is great. One of our favorites for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast — We usually get the crescents(sausage or bacon with a fried egg and american cheese on one of the best crescents I’ve ever had). I keep promising myself that next time I’ll try something else but they’re just so good! Usually pick up a couple of donuts as well and they are always amazing. They usually throw in a couple of donut holes too. Dinner — We’ve ordered something different every time and it’s always good. General Tso’s(Tao’s?) and Sesame Chicken are amazing! Beef Broccoli is to die for! And the egg rolls are simply delicious(and you get an order free if your order totals $ 15 or more). Definitely give it a shot… You won’t be disappointed!

This place is off the chain amazing! I have gotten Koloches, doughnuts, and Chinese food here and all are equally amazing. Place looks like a dive, but don’t let that fool you. Chicken fried rice, General Tso, Triple delight, egg rolls, you name it the portions and huge, prices affordable and food is delicious. Stay clear of Koy and the back alley cat meat and go with a quality Chinese food restaurant. –CDM
