We were struggling to find a place to eat… we stumbled around until we opened the door and Michelle greeted us with a big smile and said they were serving from the picnic menu… we ordered the frickin chicken sandwich and the tomato, basil and bacon sandwich… both on fresh torta roll… Outstanding taste and presentation… and the service by Michelle and staff was very pleasant and made lunch even better… all topped off by fresh brewed tea and home grown fruit… Thanks Michelle and John.

Good breakfast. Had the Tow-in and very good. Mac French Toast with their own coconut pudding on top was excellent.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Sheraton on the southwest side of Kawai on the last day of our trip we were dying for a regular Hawaiian breakfast we found this restaurant because we were looking for Starbucks we bypassed Starbucks went in and ordered the Triple Crown with eggs poached bacon extra crispy potatoes also crispy. Macadamia nut banana pancakes were excellent ! The poached eggs were made to perfection everything was just the way we like it I will definitely go back whenever I return to Kawai aloha and mahalo.

Great service and awesome food. Our table outside was ready for us when we arrived and everyone was super friendly. Not quite what I was expecting when walking up to the restaurant, but doesn’t effect the rating.

this place is honestly so delicious. At first I was a bit upset because they don’t except substitutions and their menu is pretty small. After ordering and sitting down my French coast came to the table. Oh my Good G-d these people know how to make DELICIOUSFRENCHTOAST. I don’t know how to describe it but everything I ate at this restaurant tasted insanely good. The portion sizes are on the smaller size so I I recommend you eat slow, but everything our table ordered tasted great. This is a family owned establishment in a shopping mall I describe as the Calabasas of Kauai. Boutique shops are all around and the restaurant seems to get a little locals that if you’re not just words

Seriously the best place on the island for breakfast! I’ve almost given up on the quality of food on the island until coming here! Ridiculously the best morning gem on the island! They have fresh choices to traditional menu items that would satisfy anyone’s taste!

Great little spot for breakfast in an outdoor mall. Overall, I’d call it a bit pricey but it’s certainly not divey food. I had the Makaweli steak & eggs. The steak is trip tip that is re-seared on the grill for some browning and it’s delicious. Makaweli is a 100% grass fed Kauai meat company; amazing quality beef. The chimichurri was good, a little mintier than I’m used to. The grass fed island beef in Hawaii is just so good that it didn’t need a thing. Service is fast and attentive. Servers came by often to refill water and top off Kauai coffee. Much better than overpriced resort breakfast but pricier than other options in the area.

I really wanted to like this place. I love to support local and Always try to do this. That being said I tried Café Anuenue for coffee. Firstly I was surprised that a small sized latte was 5 $ Way over priced unless it is delicious however it wasn’t. I wanted soy but they don’t have it so decided to try coconut milk. It isn’t my preference. Not a big deal. But then it was barely hot and the cup was only filled to about ¾ inch from the top. They were very nice and the owner(I think) showed the helper how to steam the milk so it didn’t make the coffee cold. All in all not my favorite.

A real treat! (Early January 2016) I love a good breakfast place & Anuenue Café is exactly that. It’s wonderful little gem hiding in a small strip mall but, don’t be deterred by that; they’ve done a great job with the outdoor eating space. Our group had the Rip Tide, Tow In, and Acai bowl; all three we outstanding — fresh ingredients, well prepared & presented. And, the prices are reasonable. However, it’s the friendliness of the owners(Michelle & her husband who’s the Chef) & the wait staff that really makes Anuenue stand out. They’re very warm, genuine people who sincerely work to make it a great experience for their customers. My only regret is that we didn’t find this place sooner during our visit; we’d have come many more time if we had.

Cute spot for breakfast hiding in the outdoor mall. So much better than a hotel breakfast so venture out! The Mac Nut french toast is the star here– really delicious and special with the haupia cream. Yum. Try the Portuguese sausage. We also tried the steak breakfast burrito which was very tasty. Slightly expensive. Excellent service.

Likes this place so much we came back 3 times in one week! I’ve tried almost everything on their breakfast menu at this point and it’s all good. Had the riptide 3 times, the risotto once, Acai bowl twice, the french toast, the pancakes, and the special(family of 3, not just me). The seating is mostly outdoors so if you get chilly in the morning with the breeze bring a jacket. Coffee, latte is also great. Highly recommend this café if you are in Poipu!

We were hesitant because this place was still new and we hadn’t heard anything from anyone about it. Thank you, Unilocalers, for guiding me here! Anuenue is great because it’s open early, which worked for our bellies still on East Coast time. We ate breakfast here 3(or 4?) times during our weeklong stay on Kauai. The location was super convenient for us; we stayed at the Sheraton and Anuenue was a pleasant morning stroll away. The outdoor seating setup is so cute, you forget you are in a shopping complex. The owners and servers are really sweet and full of that aloha spirit. We ordered the Tow-In(the haupia mac nut French toast was delish), the Riptide(Hawaiian eggs benedict), Risotto Moco(a fancier take on loco moco), and the specials(can’t remember what they were). Everything was so good and tasted so fresh, and the prices were reasonable. Overall, just go go go! No better place to get breakfast near Poipu.

Really enjoyed our breakfast! The owners were super friendly and create some amazing breakfast. If you have been to Poipu before or if this your first time you need to know breakfast is a hard meal to find! NOTANYMORE! In my mind and taste buds this is the only place to go for a great breakfast. I took my daughter to get some banana pancakes and she is a fan too! Do yourself a favor and start your lovely morning in Poipu off right! Go here!

Lovely new place in Poipu/Koloa FOOD: I was treated to a special today, which was a egg-white omelette with roasted veggies and a balsamic reduction… It was sooo good I didn’t even have time to take a photo :/ If you have this option as a special when you visit, order it! SERVICE&SPACE The owners are present and that really makes a huge difference! Upon arriving, I had a really sweet chat with Michelle, one of the owners about her move to Kauai and the food at their place, and it really made the experience for me. I love when owners are around and so friendly! The space is pretty nice too. There is indoor(well, one table) and outdoor seating. I sat outdoors and it is pretty nice for a seating area between two buildings. PRICE Quite reasonable. My omelette was $ 9.

Had to try for breakfast after all the rave reviews. Found it to be decent but nothing I would go crazy about. It is a small place with some tables outside under a nice canopy in the courtyard of a shopping center. The half a papaya boat with Greek yoghurt, star fruit, bananas and chia seeds was delicious– highly recommend as a nice balance between the sweet and yoghurt. Mac nut banana pancakes were decent but a little thick-not light and fluffy. Portuguese sausage was tasty. Poached egg done perfectly but the first bite was a tad vine
