one of the few places in town where there is are actual choices for vegans. Please add nutritional yeast as a cheese alternative. Also, please add kombucha of you can.

This was my first time here and we stopped by for an early dinner on a Sunday. We were seated right away, and our service stayed consistently reliable throughout the experience. But wow! The pizza is AMAZING. Don’t settle for the small personal size pizza, because even if that’s all that you can eat, you won’t want to stop eating the pizza when it’s gone. We had the pesto pizza, which I highly recommend if you can at least tolerate pesto. Well okay, first we started with this cheese bread appetizer, which was pretty good– and a chips and hummus dish, which was really really good. They also have a decent craft beer selection– we grabbed a Hefeweizen and a wheat beer. For dessert, we split the chocolate cupcake which was SO good! I am normally not that crazy about icing in general, but theirs is really good without being too rich, and I’m pretty certain they make it themselves and I can promise you that it tastes better than it looks. I think we’ll be back again, but next time we will be ordering that pesto pizza in the largest size it’s available in. Free Wi-Fi too, for anyone who wanted to know about that.

Started out with a Bloody Mary($ 7) at brunch and it was great. Very flavorful just wished it would have been a lil bigger for the price but still wonderful. I had the small Oh Boy Sandwich(spinach, chicken, Benton’s Bacon, sun dried tomato, Monterey Jack cheese and poppyseed dressing) and it was bursting with flavor. My wife really enjoyed her Chef Salad with Blue Cheese Vinaigrette dressing. I also ordered a slice of the Smoked Salmon and Pesto Pizza and it was out of this world! Never had anything like it. Crunchy, sweet, smoky and buttery were just a few of the components to this pizza love fest. Fantastic! I really enjoyed my first time here and can’t wait to go back. Great service and great food best defines this place. My head is officially starting to turn red…

Great location. Wonderful ambiance. Wide variety of choices. It’s a absolute must for a vegan or anyone looking for gluten free food. The pizzas we ordered were delicious. Nice desert options as well.

Found this place via Unilocal as we were passing through TN. Delicious salads and dressings, pizza and cupcakes. All vegan and vegetarian friendly –the menu and the staff. Of course there are selections for the meat eaters too. They have pizza by the slice or individual(9″) or large(14″). The side salads were loaded with lots of veggies and olives. Looked like they had a good selection of beer and wine too but didn’t check it out since we were still driving.

Was in town for a weekend event and boy was this area cute. There was a square with these cute shops everywhere and musical performers out in the open area. We decided to eat here because they have some great dairy alternatives. The prices are a little high for just pizza but it was damn good pizza that my boyfriend and I shared. The server was pretty friendly and the dining area was large and open and very clean. Highly recommend this place for a casual dinner downtown.

Excellent waffles! I also like that they are very willing to work with food allergies. That will definitely cause me to return and recommend to others.

We just had an excellent meal! So many things to choose from. I had a house salad with a vinaigrette. Perfect portions and super fresh. We also got a pizza with walnuts, pears and blue cheese. Perfect meal

So I have been here several times with my hippie sister, the food is good but a bit expensive. It’s all locally sourced and very fresh. The portion sizes on the salsa could be bigger. If you go please demand Yogurt, my sister will thank you.

Wow, a Knoxville restaurant with vegan food. I’m in. Went here twice on a recent trip to Knoxville. Sat outside on the square both times. Location is perfect. Ate: Kepner melt on whole wheat with soy cheese — the bread was GREAT. And the flavor combination worked really well, with the walnuts. Unique, fun flavor profile. 9″ pizza number 10 with soy cheese — this was fine, but pretty standard. The crust was good. Sweets: Two cookies! Surprisingly, sugar with frosting was greater than the chocolate chip. Carrot cake cupcake was also great. Enormous, though, and $ 5 which seems like a lot for a cupcake. Service: Really friendly but a tiny bit haphazard. When I walked into the restaurant both days there seemed to be confusion on who the host was or who I should talk to to get a table. The woman I had on the first evening was super great — a saison enthusiast and unprompted brought me samples of other saisons to try, which was so great! They forgot to charge me for dessert so I had to remind them, which is fine. Second visit, the person I had for lunch was okay but was a little irritated he forgot to ask me for sizes of things — ended up with a 16oz beer instead of a 4oz sample, and a 9″ pizza(for $ 10 more) when I thought I’d ordered a slice. Oh well. Overall super pleasant!

This is my first business trip to Knoxville and was surprised to run across Market Square. Beautiful old brick buildings, trees, lots of small local restaurants and shops. I picked the Tomato Head as the menu looked healthy. I sat out front on the patio to watch the people and listen to a musician playing his violin. Very nice ambiance. I started with curried lentil soup which was the soup of the day — excellent! full of flavor and not to heavy for lentil. Next was warm bacon salad. Spinach, mushrooms, bacon, Poppy seed dressing with fresh bread. — just the thing for a meal on the road! They definitely don’t skimp on the bacon. Last was peanut butter chocolate cake to go to eat later in hotel room when I need that late night sugar fix Overall very nice place and would recommend

Wonderful! Just wonderful. Vegetarian options, gluten-free bread choices, delicious meats… there are tastes for every palate. We had Easter breakfast here, and not only did the meal satisfy, it felt great in our bodies. They’re absolutely right: Real food gotta cook, don’t come in a can.

Last Sunday I took my friends from out of town to this place. The last time I’ve been here was at the old location on market square in 2009. The décor and place is much more hipster and has a more open feel. We got the Eva, Domingo burrito and bagel with smoked salmon from the brunch menu. We also ordered the pizza rolls with tofu as an appetizer. The food was amazing. Out of the 3, I would say the Eva was the best. The pizza rolls were ok. I wished they provided marinara sauce with it. I would say the food was 4 stars. Our service was lacking. Our server rarely came to our table to check on us. We had to ask another waiter for silverware and our checks. We barely spoke with our server besides our food order. I would give the service a 3 stars.

Gave Tomato Head another try this past week. I desperately want to enjoy a meal here. Sad to report, it still hasn’t happened. I had a water and tried their house-made veggie burger. While the ingredients are very fresh, interior is beautiful and staff is always friendly and attentive, this was another completely forgettable meal. The Flour Head bun was soft and tasty, but the burger patty was flavorless and drowned in ketchup. I even removed the bun to try the patty alone, but it tasted like nothing. Maybe a burrito or pizza is the way to go here. Sigh.

Stopped here for a late lunch on our way back to Nashville. It was busy, but no wait and we were immediately seated. It took awhile for our server to show up, but that gave us plenty of time to know what we were going to order. Our food arrived before the beer we ordered, because our server forgot about it. However, he made up for pretty quickly by getting us a free, new one on the fly. My husband ordered a breakfast burrito and I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich.(I know, random but it’s what I felt like.) Both were phenomenal! We normally have leftovers but not today. We finished all of both meals! Plus, we ordered a coffee and a cookie! Also, delicious. If we lived in Knoxville we would come back here! Oh, great beer selection as well!

Hands down the best Pizza in Knoxville. I at in this time and it’s a busy rainy Thursday with the place over 50% well past 1:00p. My pizza was slightly underdone but still excellent. From toppings to portion size and price this was a terrific lunch. My waiter was a little green though forgetting to bring water and not noticing my glass was empty half way through lunch. The ladies are all over the dining too showing terrific attention to their guest. Overall this was my go place of choice today on my way to TYS for a late flight home. I’ll be back!

During a road trip and on the verge of hangry(a potent combo of hungry & angry) we stopped at the Tomato Head. Having pretty solid reviews I anticipated a scrumptious lunch.(Insert Debbie downer sound here.) I ordered the Greek salad and a slice of tomato basil and mozz pizza. The salad I received was the standard house with Greek dressing. Strike one. My pizza was completely bland, the tomatoes were barely cooked, and the sauce was pretty dried out as well. Strike 2. The server was friendly so there’s that and he was attentive so there’s that too. The menu was very vegetarian friendly so I would return for that reason but come on Tomato Head your specialty is pizza! Get it together!

We were so excited to try this place because of all the great reviews. We ordered the large southwestern salad with avocados and chipotle ranch dressing. Enough to share and it was really good! And we also got the combination pizza lamb sausage and sundries tomato. The pizza was a major disappointment… I absolutely hated it. It was too salty and the sauce was sour… Overall the service and the salad was great. But nothing to be excited about.
