THISPLACESUCKS. Do NOT go here. Waited almost 10 minutes to be sat. Bathrooms were disgusting and table wasn’t wiped when we sat down. Ordered chocolate milk that didn’t taste good at all. Waitress didn’t make an effort to talk to us and didn’t even smile. Ordered a side of chili and the waitress specifically asked if we wanted a side or to replace the fries and we specifically told her we wanted a side of chili. When the food came out, she didn’t bring fries out with the plate. People were waiting at the door for a while and there were waitresses standing around on their cell phones. Ridiculous and horrible service. We complained to the manager who just took our ticket and our meal was free. He however didn’t want to listen to our problems and quickly interrupted and said he’d take care of the ticket.

There’s just nothing good about this place. Food is below average, service is slow and not very friendly. I guess the prices are cheap, but you get less than you pay for. It was clean but even the bathrooms smell.

Good food, terrible service, filthy restaurant. Was in restroom when an employee came out of a stall and started to exit without washing her hands. Customers made her go back and wash!

I love steak and shake but tonight was a FAIL. Not sure how you screw an order up when no one else was in the restaurant but somehow it happened. First the drive thru microphone was not working so when we pulled around to the window the guy working Rudely asked if he could help, after I said we had been sitting waiting he replied, ya we tried you weren’t answering, I kindly replied to him that his microphone was not working properly. Clearly frustrated I gave him my order. I added seasoned fries to my burger which I did not receive and my burger also did not come with the usual toppings, it was plain, not sure if the employee was slightly dense it maybe he was just upset that we were there to eat? Not really sure but usually the customer service is much better. You all should hire new graveyard employees because i would rather stop at McDonald’s than have another run in with that employee.

I love Steak n Shake food but the service at this particular location is awful. Tried to eat there today at 2:30. Sat at the counter which had not been cleared off from the previous customers. Finally left after sitting for over five minutes without even being acknowledged. I made eye contact with at least 4 employees including one who looked to be the manager and nothing. It’s a shame because I love their burgers. Please get your act together.

I am not sure how many more times I can continue to visit the Steak ‘n Shake in Turkey Creek, Knoxville, TN. Eighty-Five percent of our orders are incorrect when we get home. The irony in this review is that I explicitly spoke with a manager directly tonight while experiencing issues with the order process(regarding this order and incorrect orders in the past), as the order tonight included one burger that was a «replacement». Coincidentally, the«replacement» was still incorrect. I would thoroughly appreciate being able to speak to someone who can finally confront this method of maniac madness and explain to me why it is so hard to get an order correct from this location. The manager that I spoke with tonight claims the menu is too extensive, that there are too many buttons for a new person to train on successfully in less than three months. As I pointed out, the turn-over rate for drive-thru workers at this particular location is grossly significant to say the least — as is accuracy of most all drive-thru orders that we have personally experienced. My husband asks why I continue to go back. The food is great… IF you can get it the way you want it. Therein lies the problem. This evening’s request was no different. I even asked if it would be advised to simply hand write the order and walk in to the restaurant and provide to the worker in order to receive an accurate order. I propose to my greatest hopes and aspirations that process might indeed warrant a better outcome. I shall definitely try before finally giving up. Please, PLEASE I beg of someone in upper management to review the training process currently in place for the satisfaction of your customers before they, too, give up altogether. Thank you for your careful consideration of these potentially helpful suggestions.

We like to come here after taking our Grandson to movies at Turkey Creek. We like their burgers and fries and the shakes are always very good. However, often times the wait for service is unacceptable. I understand they get slammed at times when it’s busy times, but at times we have waited 40 minutes to an hour to get our order and sometimes 20 minutes just to get the bill. Today was another unacceptable situation. Late lunch, 3:00 time frame, initially our waitress was great, didn’t have to wait long for our order, everything was very good. When she came back to check on us I ordered a chocolate shake to go, no problem, she said she would put the order in so it would be ready for when we were ready to leave. My husband got up to pay at the counter while we finished up, waited five minutes more at the table, then decided they would need to bus it and I didn’t want to tie up a table.(Mistake right there) Anyway, we waited another five minutes or so and then asked our waitress if she could check on our shake. She was very short with me, said they were slammed with the drive-thru and half price shake special and basically dismissed me. Long story short, 30 minutes later my husband told the manager how long he had been waiting and he took care of it. I don’t really feel a coupon for a free shake on the next visit is good enough, he should have comped us for that one but I guess not everyone is well trained when it comes to customer service. There are many good burger places in this area and someone else will get our business next time.

We went to this location on Thursday evening. We arrived at 5:05 pm. I know the exact time because of a remark my husband made. We walked in and waited a few minutes and then had to ask to be seated. Sat at the table for almost 15 minutes before I got up and asked if we could get service. There were 5 people in the soda fountain area that were just standing around doing nothing. Finally got service and food arrived in a reasonable time. Since the new management took over a few months back this place has gone down hill drastically. When you ask for onion your slices are so thin you can see through them and there might be two small pieces(rings) not slices on the sandwich. We had to ask for refills several times. We were there over an hour. Remind you the place was not busy, and the table next to us was dirty when we got there and was still dirty when we left. We have always loved eating at Steak and Shake but we are so disappointed in the new management and staff. Most if not all the former workers who were long time employees are gone. The new employees and current ones do not take pride in their work or their store. They will begin serving breakfast soon and begin opening for 24 hours soon. I hope the breakfast tables are cleaned before the supper crowd gets there and that the super dishes are cleaned before the breakfast crowd shows up. Really with all the wait staff that was standing around service should have been fabulous and tables cleaned immediately. I won’t get started on the restrooms! As they say. Straighten up Steak and Shake or you will be history in Turkey Creek.

The place has great food, which has the downside of attracting an occasionally overwhelming number of customers. However, with conscious servers like Kaleb keeping you in the loop on your food status the wait is manageable.

This location recently changed management/owners and the service is just horrible now. Our family of five has visited the restaurant a lot over the years. This visit was about noon on Saturday and we had no wait to be seated but it took over 20 minutes before anyone came to our table. After ordering it took an eternity to get our food. We have had poor service since this company took over. Almost all the staff is new. I am seriously considering never ever returning. The gentlemen next to us had the same experience. Hopefully they will straighten this out because with all the options in west Knoxville I don’t see how they can survive.

Dear Unilocal users, we went four miles out of our way to go here because my two comrades had never been. Comrade number one was displeased with said smell as we made our entrance. Our waiter was Ricky Ricardo so things started to look up. It was nice that we could have had caramalized onions at fast food fares and prices. It was nice that Ricky could see Comrade 1 was hung over and brought her a to go cup of coca cola. Comrade 2 is from Cali and thought it was subpar compared to the in and the out. Comrade 1 thought it was the best fast food burger ever. I am currently an aspiring top model and since I cannot have many of these meals I thought it was heavenly.

Steak and Shake just doesn’t «do it» for me. We were seated quickly and the waitress was very friendly and competent. I ordered the Dbl Wisconsin burger with Fries covered in cheese and bacon. The food was fresh but nothing special…

I was impressed with the prices, but the food is average at best. I was very disappointed with the cleanliness. We stepped into the restaurant when it was raining and I understand that the floors may be slippery when wet; however, my shoes were dried on the carpet coming in and every floor from the door to the table to the toilet was greasy slippery. We were there for a while and it was just as slippery leaving the restaurant. The fries were nice and crispy shoestring fries. The mini burgers were ok taste, but greasy. Also, instead of making them small, they simply cut a square burger in half so it’s a triangle in a mini bun. The little triangle burger sticks out the sides and yet leaves some of the bun without meat. Their onions on the burgers are finely chopped which I really like. My husband ordered the club and it was your average club. He didn’t like the fries. We had a great server and the service was good. One of the servers had a shirt that didn’t cover that tattoo on top of her pants in the back. She kept having to pull it down in back which was distracting. Would I go back? I would like to try their breakfast on a non-rainy day to see how that is and whether the floor was wet from water or just greasy.

Milk shake made with a mix, or maybe the ice cream is. Whichever, there was gritty powder in my shake. How hard is it to make ice cream or shakes from scratch, there are only a few ingredients in either of them. Or maybe I should say there SHOULD only be a few ingredients.

Breakfast at this Steak N Shake is the best kept secret in West Knoxville! Lots of choices — great service too and the prices are very reasonable. Full breakfast skillete — pancakes — biscuits & gravy! Try this one — you won’t be sorry!
