Was not a fan of this place. My boyfriend and I went for a nice date night and the seafood was way overpriced and the quality was not good. I would definitely not go back. Totally a rip off. Go next door to Nama.

Ok I took my 16yo daughter here as we were I town for a weekend sporting event Restaurant is very nice, soothing music Most of the crowd was 40 yo plus but it was casual dress. Lots of fresh fish and plenty of oysters –(we did not try) They have wine beer and a full bar Appetizer: was calamari salt and pepper home made dressing of «Greek goddess» and salsa like dressing This came on a bed of unfortunately sad looking arugula. This was ok … Main course : She had fish tacos baja style Fish was fresh and toppings of cilantro, pico and mango. She was very pleased Mine was«the tower«–see picture. Crab salad, shrimp avacodo stacked neatly and suggested to dig in and just eat. It was delicious. Filling and yummy It would have been great with more chips Waitress –Nicole was good. She changed the tv channels for the football game, made some good suggestions and was timely overall If in town I would try again –I would probably pass on the calamari if I had to do it again –

The lobster bisque is fabulous as is the crab tower. This is a fabulous find in Knoxville… great crowd-great bar-wonderful oysters… love bringing guests here!

Shuck kinda Sucks. Why? Overpriced, average, unhealthily prepared(fried to the point of burnt) but presented with the airs as for a connoisseur(not). Crabcakes=crap cakes – imagine mixing onions, green peppers with bread crumbs and add tuna flavor – Shuck’s special ;) We went there to experience something of unique, local, sea-brought in-land cuisine and were disappointed. Highly do not recommend for any occasion.

I came here for a Unilocal event as far as brunch experience. And what did I think? Enjoyable, but not really my cup of tea as a brunch spot which I could go to every week. So what did I have while I was here? I ordered the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. The crab cakes were neatly on top of the eggs benedict and it mixed with the yolk and together it produced something smooth and tasty. There is a caveat though. The spinach that they roasted they placed on top. Why? Why not just give me some spinach on it, some fresh spinach. Why roast it to the point where it’s sort of like seaweed and that barely has any taste to it? I honestly think that was the only one criticism that I had for this dish. The presentation was very nice… but okay come on… presentation but the food is meh? Another was the price point. I wasn’t too fond of it. The pricing here was a little out of the ordinary. I guess that’s the same of all brunch spots, overcharge on simplistic food. The menu isn’t too extensive as well. This place is definitely not a place to eat if you like seafood. Obviously though, I didn’t expect anything less. The service was alright, wasn’t the best though. I believe there were some members in the group that were a little disappointed, but hey I enjoyed the company while we waited for food and service. I think if I was alone or with a smaller group, that would be different. I honestly would never eat Oysters if the place wasn’t near any body of water, at least be close to it. So I can’t say anything for oysters here. Will I come back? Maybe? I don’t know, depends on the circumstances. It’s alright in my book, but I think there’s better in Knoxville as far as brunch options.

Wife and I liked Shuck until a lunch last week. My oysters were tops as usual as was the wedge salad. My wife’s pasta and shrimp pesto was a surprise. The«pesto» was a weak broth without any resemblance to pesto! They graciously exchanged the dish for something different. This did not mitigate the the pesto surprise. Great raw bar!!!

We went here a couple weeks ago with our son and his girlfriend who are our employees as well, to celebrate a specially good month. We went to the Bearden location, where the old Chez Liberty was. We love this place and love to share it with people we love. Also definitely it is a place to impress. We started with 12 house oysters and 12 that we told our waiter to surprise us with. They have different types of oysters. We also ordered a couple of Tapas to share like the salt and pepper calamari, fried oysters and a Tower. Their wine list is pretty good. We got an Albarino(form Galicia). We finished with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot. Champagne is always great with oysters!

This review needs a preface: I don’t like fish or seafood. So take this with a grain of salt. A group of us met here for brunch. I know! Who knew they had brunch?! Peering over the menu, I knew I was in trouble. There wasn’t a single thing on the menu that was free of fish or seafood. I kind of expected this, but was hoping to be surprised. I ended up ordering al a carte. When our food came, everyone oooh’d and ahhh’d about their plates. Me? Not so much. I ordered fruit, grits, and bacon. The bacon was so overcooked and cold that it shattered like glass as soon as I bit into it. The fruit was just an underripe melon medley. And my grits, which everyone at the table really seemed to enjoy, reminded me more of something used to hang wallpaper. Without finishing my grits, I asked our server for an english muffin. It arrived 15 minutes later, cold and hard. I then asked for butter, which took another 10 minutes, allowing enough time for my muffins to transform into hockey puck like discs. I tucked my disappointment in our server and my meal inside, knowing that this would be my last time here. This is not a reflection of the restaurant’s overall food. My table mates all seemed pleased. This is just a warning for all of my fellow non-seafood eating freaks.

We ate here for a business dinner. First, the drink selection isn’t really that great, but then, a few of the items that we tried to order, the response was” we’re actually out of that”. The food is a lot of fried, we didn’t really expect that. The oysters were good, but I’ve had much better. And… After we had places our dinner orders and we’re waiting, the server came back to tell us that they actually were out if one of the entrees we had ordered. It was disappointing, both the service and the food.

Again, since the ocean is pretty far from Tennessee, the seafood prices are a little higher than I’m used to having to spend. With all that said, this place was pretty tasty. I was definitely missing lobster in my lobster bisque, but the flavor was good. The oysters were also big and delicious. Definitely filling…

One of the best meals, ever. Anywhere. And we eat out ALOT. I orderd the blackened grouper and my husband had the swordfish. It compared to meals we ate in the Bahamas where our fish was so fresh from where it came directly out of the water. We also got an appetizer and dessert, both were delicious. Drinks were great too. It was a bit pricey, but very much worthy for fish of this quality in this area. Our waiter was beyond awesome. Will definitely be back.

OYSTERSCHIMIALLDAYEVERYDAY. Their lobster bisque is also phenomenal and the fish tacos can’t be beat(I love the 135), especially when they are $ 5. They make some fresh and delicious cocktails, but also have rotating beers on tap and they’re normally not playin. The happy hour & Sunday specials offer great deals. I love both the patio & indoor atmosphere and Michala is a fantastic server!

You can have a great filling lunch for around $ 12.00. The oysters on the half always taste fresh. They have good variety of expensive oysters, but the house oysters are excellent Chesapeake bay oysters. They have a good draft beer selection and also make some creative specialty cocktails. Very casual atmosphere. Excellent happy hour.

Lunch at Shuck’s was great! I began with the clam chowder which was delicious. It had a nice flavor to it and was not creamy as most chowders are, but perfect as is. For my entrée I ordered the half shrimp po’ boy with chips. The small cup of slaw that came with it was very dry, essentially no mayo. It was mediocre. The chips were very good, but they are just chips. The shrimp po’ boy though, was absolutely delicious. It was the best po’ boy I’ve ever had. As for the restaurant and service I was pleased. They do not offer typical salad dressings which made me order the chowder(which was a great choice). The restaurant is nice, clean, and very inviting. It is a laid back type of restaurant/bar. The service was decent. Our waitress was okay but not overly nice or talkative. Overall I gave it a 4⁄5. If a return trip produces a similar experience, I will definitely be rating a 5⁄5 and be living here for lunch and dinner daily!

In regards to service and professionalism, this was the worst experience I can remember having in a restaurant. To go into detail would require more time and typing than this ordeal was worth. All I will tell, is that the training and actions of the staff are not conducive to the prices charged.

I much prefer this location to the«original», recently closed downtown location. The menu is a little different with more non-seafood options for those in your party who aren’t down with all the seafood options. One of my favorite things I’ve tried here is the citrus crudo, which is ahi tuna, ruby red grapefruit, fresh jalapenos, and drizzled with good olive oil and salt and pepper. The tower is popular and pretty tasty, but it is alarming in its presentation more than appealing. It is so big and stuffed onto the plate it just goes everyone. They should consider a bigger platter or different serving late. Good solid brunch menu with $ 3 mimosas, bloody mary’s, and poinsettias.

Oh my goodness, I sure do love Sundays at Shuck! The $ 1 oyster special on the«happy hour all day» list really can’t be beat. The po boys are also phenomenal! I recommend substituting french fries for the chips that normally come with them. Their fries are delicious. The drinks are also pretty great. Try the Bloody Mary for sure – the staff is good about spicing it up to your specifications. I have yet to try a craft cocktail I didn’t enjoy here!

OK, I gotta do this. Sorry guys. We have been frequent patrons of Shuck. We were thrilled that a business was filling the empty void left by Chez Liberty. We were even more thrilled when we tried Shuck for the first time. We love oysters. And they have a great selection. The calamari was the bomb. Steaks to die for. I’m here to tell you, it was an exquisite feast. Nothing, I mean NOTHING, disappointed!!! Every item on the menu was gourmet and worth the extra ducats. Everything was great including the staff. Always friendly, quick to get another drink and not too overbearing. Then came the disappointment. We have been regular customers since the place opened. One day we went in and the oysters were good and the service was good. But all the cooked items were a serious disappointment. We chalked it up as an anomaly and assumed our next trip things would be back to normal. So, we happily returned craving a great Shuck feast. Once again the oysters and staff were great. But the cooked items were awful. We are truly disappointed. It pains me to write this review. We really do love the place. However, it is highly unlikely that we will return. At prices like that, you gotta have your«A Game» rollin every time a plate leaves the kitchen. Let’s face it, any fool can shuck oysters. I love other people to do it for me. But this fool’s gonna stay at the house and shuck his own. We will miss the great staff. We hope that the owners and management can fix whatever went wrong.

I went there with a friend the other night and it was a fantastic experience. The ambience was great, the employees were all very nice, and the food was impressive. Our oysters came out a bit late, but the manager was quick to respond and even took them off of the bill. There wasn’t even a need for that, but this restaurant is all about good customer service. I’ll definitely be back soon!
