Rafferty’s Restaurant & Bar

The service and management was so bad today it makes me consider never returning. The mgt was seating the bar to capacity with only one person to service tables (even though there were open tables in restaurant area). As a result service was slow, our meal was delivered incorrectly, and I had to ask multiple times to get it corrected. I don’t see how this restaurant can continue in business at this level of service.

My husband and I love their chicken finger salad. The dressing is the hot bacon and honey mustard /​-​not very healthy but delicious! Quick service too.

Hostesses were kind of stand-​offish and didn’t even greet us when we came in the door. The waitress was sweet and refilled our drinks. The food was really delicious which made up for the hostesses. Hopefully they were just having a bad night, but the place was not even busy.

We went to there last night and have been there many times before and lastnight i ordered the ribs and chicken (ribs are generally good) but when I got it the bibs were a bit on the tough side and they seemed to put more sauce on them than usual. The chicken was a bit on the chewy and rubbery side, seemed to have been microwaved. The wife ordered the ribs and pork chop but the ribs again we tough and the pork chop was also tough and dry. The service was good as usual but for some reason the fell extremely short of the mark on food this time. This is the only reason that they received a low score. I will go back but the wife unfortunately has marked them off the favorite list.

Food was excellent as always but Laura was even better. Her service as good as we’ve ever had in Knoxville. Not only was she kind but she noticed every empty plate immediately and our drinks never went ¼ empty. Give the girl a raise!

Rude!!! My wife and I were in town for the weekend and decided on Rafferty’s since we don’t have one in our hometown. When we walked in, the host staff just stared at us, didn’t greet us at all. As the hostess was seating us, she asked if we wanted to sit in the bar. We politely declined, and she rolled her eyes and took us to a table. They were not busy at all, but it took several minutes before our server came by. My wife ordered tea and I ordered coffee. The waitress, who hadn’t even really greeted us, rolled her eyes and walked away. So we promptly walked out. We both worked in the restaurant industry for years. We tip very well for good service, but don’t abide bad service. This was bad service. On to Cheddar’s for us!

Another solid American style restaurant. Has a good menu selection. The fried mushrooms are to die for. Prime Rib is awesome. A lot of West Knoxville locals come here for Happy Hour. Nice prices. Good quality. Basic menu items — nothing fancy but good!

My husband enjoys several appetizers (fried mushrooms, in particular) entrees from here. However, I can’t seem to ever get a good burger to go. I have had a good burger rating in but quality seems to drop for to-​go orders (for cheeseburgers anyway). Their cheesecake is the best I’ve ever had. Would recommend, but would love to finally get a good, juicy cheeseburger to go… :-/

This is easy… Raffertys Prime Rib (rare to med-​rare) and baked potato loaded… top notch!

Consistent, fresh and uniformly good service are the hallmarks of this restaurant. My wife and I have been coming here for years and I’ve always enjoyed the food and I’ve never had any problems with the service.

Luke warm feelings about this place, the food is bordering on mediocre and the service wow, customer service went the way of the dinosaur with this restaurant. Get a snack here not really a place for something special

It’s actually a pretty good place. Ran well, and good food. Definitely a place to go.

Travelling through TN and were staying in Knoxville overnight… so glad we found Rafferty’s…try the potato soup. we both had the prime rib. yum

Food is pretty basic but fairly good. They use the grill nicely and I had the mahi mahi, which I truly believe was fresh. I ordered the grilled asparagus with it and it was the perfect compliment but that was it. No suggestion of bread or additional side. Service was sub par on a week night where it wasn’t overly busy but seemingly well staffed. They never offered water and it took me two requests for a second beer which finally showed up after I finished my meal.

I always get the Jackson Hole filet. It is one of the best filets I have ever eaten. Normally I put nothing on a filet, but they have this Cajun butter that is perfect on it. I have tried other items and everything is good. They have awesome fried mushrooms as well.

I eat here often and have always been 100% satisfied. The Jackson Hole Filet is phenomenal, as is the Kona Chicken with their rice pilaf is served topped with ham cheese and a pineapple ring.
Long meals with several friends seated in the glassed in patio area have been happy times.
Also there are multiple large TV screens for viewing news, weather and many sporting events.
And lastly get servers are courteous, we’ll dressed and make eating here a pleasure.

I am out of town and have ate at multiple locations since the beginning of February. My experience at Rafferty’s was the most disappointing to date. First, the hostess more less «required» that I eat around the bar area if I wanted a booth. I suppose those are reserved for single patrons?
Then I ordered the infamous smokehouse burger which was somewhat pathetic. First, it’s a dry patty, bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, bun and a half a gallon of bbq sauce. The flavor wasn’t that bad but by no means a great burger, especially after your hands are dripping with sticky sauce.
Then there was the fries. Ever been to the bottom of a chip bag? Well, these fries were from the bottom of the fries bag, 98% of them was an inch long. I asked the waitress if this was normal and she said «sometimes they’re like that, do you want me to have them fix more?» Since I am not interested in the special «treats» that cooks provide to complainers, I said «no» assuming she would take them off of my bill after she took them away or at least ask. Not. Oh well, I wont be back anytime soon, too many places to eat at in Knoxville to put up with a less than par $ 11 burger fries and water.

Rafferty’s smokehouse burger is the best burger on the planet… period. When I visit home (Knoxville). I come to Rafferty’s at least once and get the same meal every time.
I sit in the room with the TV wall, I get the Smokehouse burger with a baked sweet potato, a side caesar salad and a tall brewsky. Can’t wait to come back!

With my family of five we had a very good dinner, high-​level of service drinks refilled and the food quality was very good.
I would recommend the prime rib over the rib eye and the Hawaiian Chicken dish was fabulous.

Stopped in here with my wife and two daughters to have a nice supper after a day of Christmas shopping. We had a great waiter who started right away and didn’t feel overly pushy. I ordered the prime rib w/​mashed potatoes and the house salad. I loved the prime (with au jus and grated fresh horseradish) and it was very, very good. The potatoes, while tasty were lukewarm, so I can’t say much for that. The salad was awesome and that homemade honey mustard/​bacon dressing is superb.
All in all, we had a very good experience and when in Knoxville, I recommend you stop in.
