so I enter a door that says Hashi Japanese and assume I am about to get Japanese food. I avoided the Thai/CHinese combinationjoint next door because mixed cuisines usually dont work out. The people who came to take my order were Thai so I knew something was up. It was late. I was hungry. I ordered a shriimp/scallop/tempura combo that came with fried rice. Never had fried rice on a real Japanese menu. The tempura was strange, not bad, just strange. The shrimp and scallops were also odd. Nothing really tasted Japanese. I walked around the corner and was standing in the Thai/Chinese wing of the Lotus mixeed cuisine joint and there were a surprising number of customers there. I had the faux Japanese part to myself. I won’t go again. Mixing cuisines generally reults in something not true to any of tthem.
