Poor quality hibachi. Buffet quality food and portions at high end hibachi prices. Frozen cocktail shrimp for entrée. Ribeye portion sliced as thin as a burger patty. Fried rice is just rice. No eggs or vegetables. Soup is not miso but chicken boullion. This is faux hibachi with unskilled cooks who smother everything with their secret sauce.

I have been coming here for over 20 years. They have changed names at least twice during that time, but the food always remained the same, that is until this past visit. This has always been my favorite Japanese steak house. They are friendly, clean for the most part(it is a little worn inside) and have had above average food. I got take out on my last visit. This isn’t the first time I have had take out from here mind you. My soup was good as always. My salad on the other hand was a lettuce core for the most part. Ok, so they were in a hurry. Easy miss. Then came my entrée. I had steak and shrimp. The rice was fairly normal, not as big of a portion as normal, but let’s be honest, who needs that much rice? The veggies, which is one of my favorite parts, we’re not so good. They were cut really small which made them kind of mushy. The mushrooms looked like the were a few weeks old. My steak was good and cooked mostly right. And then the shrimp. The shrimp were small and under cooked. They were a little opaque even. The dog did enjoy them immensely. I ordered extra hot sauce as I always do(their hot sauce is soo good) I did get a little extra but the got no other sauces. Sigh… I gave it 3 stars only because of my past experience and love for this place. Maybe they were having an off night. Or, God forbid, they are just off now. I will go back eventually and hope I can update with better reviews.

Horrible service. Waited 45 mins and watched multiple groups get seated before us. Rude hostesses sitting around doing nothing. Asked about appetizer at bar and they acted like we were from outer space. Dont waste your $$!

We must very gone o. A bad day. Dinner took over an hour and they forgot our daughters roll. We left and went to Wasabi. Place is cute though.

Stopped in here by chance on Saturday afternoon for the first time. Wanted sushi, so was seated in the sushi bar area. The staff was all very nice. Seems like the hibachi is the big thing at this place… they were doing a brisk business in that area. Here’s what we ordered: 1. Fried calamari. This was quite good and different from most restaurants. Actual legs of calamari, tempura fried so that they were just right, very light batter, still a little chewy. Really good. No sauce of any kind although the server offered to bring Ponzu sauce. 2. Onigiligino. The sushi chef was new and looks like he called in the manager or owner to make this dish. It was basically a big scoop of rice with some sushi fish and shrimp laid on top and tempura flakes and sauce. It was bland and mostly rice and a huge disappointment, especially for $ 16. 3. Red dragon roll & Green dragon roll. The spicy roll had a decent flavor, but both rolls contained a paltry amount of fish. Wifey had a bottle of Ozeki sake and I had a Kirin draft(yay!). Overall impression: I would probably eat the half-price sushi here anytime. But it’s nowhere near worth full price. For a total bill of $ 60 including tip, I left hungry and unimpressed.

Average sushi but extremely nice sushi chefs. Half price sushi on most weekdays.

Save-your-money!!! We walked in at 2:53 and were greeted by a really quiet unfriendly host and waited several minutes for a table; it all went downhill from there. I only eat seafood so I asked if I could do just a smaller portion of shrimp; my husband even asked if I could do the chicken and shrimp and he could just have my chicken, and she said I would have to order the shimp dinner which was $ 20. I told her I would just have a miso soup, a salad and a crunchy shrimp roll. The miso soup was very salty and my husbands soup that came with his dinner was a small bowl of broth with ONE mushroom in it. then my sushi roll came(which I ordered as my meal) so I let it sit there for a few minutes and then the salads came out. I asked the server for some spicy mayo and she said she would get it from the bar, she never came back with it. Our hibachi chef didnt start cooking until about 3:30 but he was very friendly and he was nice enough to give me the left over rice and veggies(a really small amount but a very nice gesture). Very over priced, we were there over an hour, very unaccomodating, and my meal was about $ 12 and I left far from full, so we will not be back.

In my opinion the food was cheap quality compared to others. For the price you can get better quality elsewhere. Shrimp are small but you can order the jumbo shrimp for $ 6.00 extra according to our waitress. It does have a very neat seating area near the grill. Probably would not be my first pick for Japanese food.

This Japanese steakhouse is better than most but it was not anything spectacular. The food was okay. There were 7 in our group and each of us tried the shrimp, chicken, and steak. The steak was good. However the shrimp was overcooked. The rice and vegetables were average. The best part of these meals is the size of the portions. There was enough food to last 3 meals. There is an early bird special between 4 and 6 pm that gives about 4 dollars off the standard price for the dinners. While I did not try the sushi collection, they do have a wide variety of rolls to choose from.

An entire piña colada was dropped all over my friend… no manager came by… no special treatment. A beer bottle was dropped on the head of another guest with us… nothing again. This after waiting over an hour for seating we’d called ahead for a week in advance. Oh and they brought out boxes for food… one of which had writing on it from a previous table. Get Hibachi factory and save yourself the overpriced experience you’ll wish you could forget.

Ate there a couple weeks ago. Sushi bar was noisy. It’s a small area and the noise was enough to get under your skin. Food was over priced and just ok for Asian food. The sushi was a little over priced but tasted ok. I got the teriyaki chicken. I felt like I needed to check my blood sugar after eating.

It was one of the worst sushi experiences I have ever had. I would not recommend the sushi to anyone. The rolls were bland and the sashimi was not fresh. Also, the portions were really small and overpriced. The only dish that I enjoyed was the yellow tail cheek. That dish saved the review from getting an one star rating.

Old fashion hibachi grill. Not bad of a joint and you receive a lot of food. just wish they would update their chairs and design in side. If the refurbished the place i’d give it a 5

Love it! Used to be called Kyoto/Miyabi. There are several of them in North and South Carolina still under the Miyabi name. Food is always wonderful and the price is unbeatable. They are the ONE place in Knoxville that gets the«white sauce» right. The place could use a remodel, but I’ll make that sacrifice for good food any day.

I’ve gone here twice in the last month. Early bird special was a great deal. Wondering if they have new management since previous reviews because I didn’t see any of other posters problems. Food was very good and generous.

This place is cheap, and that’s why I go. Sushi is completely half off Monday-Thursday if you eat at the sushi bar. Many of the rolls are already under $ 10, so you really can’t beat that. This place has hibachi grills as well and the food is fair. All around if you want hibachi or sushi and not looking to spend lots of money then this place is a good choice.

We left even before the food was served. The restaurant was unclean, and smelled like pee when we came in(the bathrooms are next to the entrance). The food score was an 81, and there was still food left on the(not so great looking) hibachi grill. The overhead ventilation system was caked in grease, and the gas lines were missing panels, and patched with electrical tape. I would not recommend this to anyone. Go next door for the buffet.

Keep in mind I am new to the area and the Hibachi food here is different than what I am used to. Here is what you get: First, you get your soup and salad, then everyone gets the appetizer shrimp, then they make your vegetables(zucchini and onion only), then they make your rice and they DONOT put egg in the rice, and then they cook the meat. Pros: They give very generous portions… and I mean generous for a Hibachi place so you get a TON of food. Also they put a generous amount of sesame seeds on the food. Cons: First, it is ridiculous to not put egg in the fried rice– that is a BIG part of the show at most places. Second, Misaki is not big on the«show» part of it, in my opinion. It is the least entertaining Hibachi place that I have ever been to(not counting places without tables). Third, I asked for carrots and zucchini instead of onion and zucchini and the charged me $ 2. Fourth, I had to talk them into frying me an egg in the back to mix in with my rice. They gave me not even half a fried egg and charged me $ 1. Fifth, the meat is not cooked in the right order. It should be placed on the grill so everyone’s food is ready at around the same time. They should have put the chicken(which took longest to cook) on first, and then added meat accordingly. Instead they began cooking the chicken last, so people that ordered chicken got it 10 minutes after I got my steak. The food had a decent flavor but the extra requests I had to make and the money they charged me for it was ridiculous.

Nothing beats this restaurant… starting with the soup and salad… The soy dressing is to die for… Then on to the chefs doin their thing on the grill… delicious appetizer shrimp… Then you pick what you want… Ribeye steak, Filet Mignon, Scallops, Shrimp, Teriyaki Chicken, Jumbo Shrimp… pick em all… pick 1 or pick 3… my favorite is the Ribeye steak. They grill it to your taste throw some mushrooms on the grill with it… but first they give you the best tasting zuchini and onions that are sauteed… and a bed of rice .top it with your choices of the above meats… and then… you cant forget the yummy sauces… they have a mustard sauce which is my favorite… but everyone loves the mayo sauce… I have seen people ask for the jug … I have never seen anyone finish their entire plate… I always leave with enough for an entire meal the next day! Dont forget the sushi bar… they are quick and everything is very very fresh… my favorites… the avocado salad, the volcano roll, charleston, philly, unagi, salad roll, I could go on and on… They even make up rolls with whatever you want in them if it is not on the menu! This is the best place to come with a group, couple, or alone… by the end of the meal you have made new friends. who you will definitely see again here…

I went here for my sister’s birthday; I think they recently changed their name, but the management is the same. Great service, great sushi. There are a couple of Japanese restaurants in a row here, but this is my favorite.
