Okay, I’m a nerd sometimes… Saw the cool Twisty Treat shack from the road and HAD to stop, if for nothing else but having visited said«shack» I mean come on really??? Who couldn’t stop! The kiddos moaned from the back of the rental van, but hey I’m driving and you are sitting down, quit your cry’n! From the menu I had no idea what to order, I mean I’m a Twisty Treat NOOB! Granted we had also just eaten… so I opted for a simple cone… PURE manna from the heavens this stuff! The soft serve is a bit soft, and had started to melt by the time I had paid and the hand-off was made, but I’m not complaining… it made the slurping a bit messy but a lot quicker! My flavor of choice was somehow injected/spliced onto the edges of the soft serve… OMG… DELIGHTFUL! No sprinkles for me, I’ma purist! We’ll be back, and this time I’ll make sure the kiddos are hungry!

Since we were in town, a trip to Twisty Treat was in order, for nostalgia if nothing else. We arrived close to 9PM and stood in line for a few moments. It is worth noting that this twisty treat is one of the two originals; the others are far inferior to these. The soft serve here is exactly like I remember it: thick and rich, sweet but not cloyingly so. I had a chocolate vanilla twist in a cup drenched in butterscotch and I savored every bite, knowing that I wouldn’t be back for at least another year or two. I don’t miss living in Orlando most of the time, but this place gives me a twinge of regret about moving. Dairy Queen could never compare, and fro-yo pales in comparison. If you are ever in the area, stop in for a bite. You won’t regret it!

The ice cream here was phenomenal, though I must say that their hotdogs were substandard at the very least. They were dried out and had next to no taste to them and the buns were stale. Going back to the banana split I had though: It was enormous, and was in fact big enough to satisfy me from either end.

Ice cream is ice cream, right? Wrong. Not once you’ve had Twisty Treat. It’s deliciously creamy and reasonably priced. The waffle cones are fantastic and the soft serve can’t be beat.

Ice cream is average or maybe a little below average some of the candy in the twisters tasted stale, need some attention to the building it looks a little rundown

Great little ice cream spot. I had a Sunday with vanilla soft serve, butterscotch, marshmallow and whip cream. It was huge! Not no mention delicious and very reasonably priced. Actually for the price I would describe it as a hell of a deal! The service was very fast. Great alternative to other ice cream shops.

Best damn soft serve around! forget store bought hard ice cream come here for soft serve, it’s amazing. I personally like the three flavors on a fancy waffle cone.
