Michael’s

I love Michael’s, I really do. I’m in here like twice a week. This Michael’s annoys me sometimes. No one ever asks if I’m finding everything. They don’t even acknowledge you if they walk by. I’ve worked retail. It was burned into our brains that your always say hello if you walk by. They never seem to have enough people on staff, or just no one answers the calls to come help with register. There can be 10+ people in line, and only one person checking out. This is my only craft store close by, so obviously I’ll keep coming, but something needs to be done as far as customer service goes.

Staff is usually stretched thin so it makes it easier if you know what you want and where to find it. It’s hard to find staff to help.

Good selection and decent prices. I signed up for their e-​mail coupons so I always wait for a 50% coupon before I buy a high priced item. My husband is a painter and he can usually find the oils he’s looking for but sometimes they’re out of certain colors. I crochet and knit so I buy yarn here, I usually wait until they have a sale because the prices are sort of high and they have sales all the time.
Employees are helpful when you can find one. They are not very well staffed. Last time I was here I wanted an item that I couldn’t reach so I asked an employee for help. I waited over fifteen minutes before someone came to help me.

My friend and I hosted our friends engagement party on ⁶⁄₁ and I made a watermelon basket. I planned on cutting out heart shaped fruits to put inside of it and thought an old fashion cookie cutter would be the fastest way and an easy find… After the party, the soon to be bride said to me «can you tell me when the last time you had cookies that were rolled and cut out with cookie cutters?» Ha-​Ha, I couldn’t recall the last time.
After searching frantically at wal-​mart and dollar stores, imagining there would be a whole isle of cookie cutters… I was completely lost. I went home and called Michael’s. The lady put me on hold for a few minutes and another lady quickly told me how many types of heart shaped cookie cutters they had and how much they were. Even told me how many packages were in stock. I went to the store and she was absolutely correct. I usually just go into stores and search for products myself, but I had no time to waste and I am very grateful for their superb, friendly customer service. It was also great being asked at the register if I found everything ok and it being sincere.

A clean store with polite employees. They’ve typically had everything that we’ve needed when we go in. LOVE the fact that they accept their coupons via smartphone. They send me them all the time. All I have to do it call it up and they scan my phone. No clipping needed!
