I had an appointment today(8÷14÷15) and had a terrible experience. The thing that really set me off was their steadfastness in not giving me my PD reading. I was going to buy a pair of their over-priced frames today, but not after their ‘explanation’. They suggested I go online. Rest assured I will not be coming back to this location or company. And I have already ordered my glasses from Warby Parker.

I have come into this location a few times. I have only purchased contacts. The ladies on the optical side are professional and accommodating. It is always nice to be greeted kindly as soon as you walk into the door! Location — in the Publix plaza off of John Young Pkwy just south of The Loop Clean facility, good choice of frames — though I purchase elsewhere due to cost

I had my eyes tested at this store and bought a pair of no line progressive bi focal on the advise of the service representative. I use my glasses for computer work, I am an interior designer, so as you may imagine I am looking at floor plans and measurements most of the day, I also require them to read and I am an artist also. On fitting I immediately noticed a big difference from my last pair bought from the same location. I was not sure that they would suit me, as I found the reading and intermediate setting on the lenses very low in the lens. I spoke to the person who fitted the glasses for me and she assured me they would be fine. I have had the glasses two weeks, and I can not use them. I have a stiff neck and have been to my doctor as I thought I may have hurt my neck somehow, he has told me it is the way I am having to hold my head to try and see through the spectacles. On Wednesday of last week I took time from work to go back to Lens crafters at the Loop again to explain. I signed in and waited to be seen. After 20 minutes a man from the Lab, asked me to sit down and that I would be seen shortly, he crossed my name from the sign in sheet. A further 15 minutes went by. other people where coming in and being seen before me, and the man from the lab actually seen another person who came in after me, with the same problems as myself, I knew this as he sat next to me and I over heard the conversation. After another 15 minutes had gone by I was still ignored and had to ask to speak to someone, the man from the Lab then told me his name was Dustin, and apologized for my wait. He explained the store was short staffed, but did not explain why I had been overlooked and other people seen before me. I had been waiting 50MINUTES from sign in. I then went on to explain the problems I was having with my glasses, and what had happened over the last few weeks since purchasing them. He told me that I should have told the fitter at the time of fitting that I only needed the glasses for computer, reading and painting, He explained with the new bio focal lens, I have a part of the lens for distance(all be it minor setting), and this is why I was finding it hard to get the«biting point» for using for close and intermediate work. I told him, that I did tell the fitter at the time and feel I had really bad advise, and that the glasses are useless and I am wearing an old pair with incorrect old lenses, after paying over $ 250 for lenses and insurance plan. He offered to change the lenses for me, but he couldn’t do it now as he was to busy! He asked me to call back to the store later in the afternoon, and I would be seen right away for new measurements so at 4.30pm I went back again. I stood waiting for a further 10 minutes and decided I did not want Lens crafters to attempt to replace as I now did not have any confidence whatsoever in them and asked for a refund. It goes from bad to worse, as Dustin then came to the front desk to say he would try to fit me in asap, and I told him not to bother to just provide me with a refund as per my 30day guarantee. I am still waiting for the refund, as he explained, because I used cash for the majority of my payment, he did not have cash in his register and had to wait for enough to come in to pay me back. It is now Friday 1 August and I am still waiting! NOREFUND I am totally appalled and going to see my lawyer later today. AVOIDTHESTORELIKETHEPLAGUE

It’s amazing that a year or so ago, I walked out of this very same Lenscrafters for what looked like 25-cent frames being sold for 10 times that much. Yesterday, almost everything seemed to be the total opposite, from the large selection of low-to-higher-end frames(none exorbitant), an amazingly kind and on-the-ball staff, and a superb optometrist, Dr. Manikowski. He took the time to reply to my optical questions in a far more detailed way than my own ophthalmologists(who also refer to him but are superb in their own right). This store was beautifully appointed and very comfortable, and intermittent waiting time seemed too short! There was zero pressure to purchase anything or hurry with my selection(s). One of the assistants spent close to half an hour assisting me with frame choices. Remarkably she and I saw everything in the same light, perhaps thanks to Dr. Manikowski! The one drawback was the small selection of sunglasses, had I had the money to treat myself to a pair. Before you go, make sure to check out your vision plan(s) if relevant and take note of the store’s daily discounts; it’s good to know which will serve you better though the staff already has the answer to that, and it’s an honest one. Once inside you won’t know you’re in the busy Loop, a place(like nearly all malls) I prefer to stay out of — especially this time of year. Luckily, parking was not hard to find as neighboring businesses were not doing all that well despite the jockeying traffic. If you go, budget your time more generously than your wallet’s contents.

The staff here are very friendly and in general they have a pretty good selection, however I was looking for prescription sunglasses & encountered 2 problems: 1. Their selection of sunglasses seemed quite limited. There are dozens of brands out there, but they carried only the couple biggest it seems, which led to the next issue… 2. They were running a deal on glasses, but that deal didn’t extend to Maui Jim & Oakley sunglasses. I went to a competitor in the same shopping plaza that was running a kinda similar deal, yet their deal extended to Maui Jim & Oakley. For such a national market chain, I think they’d have more brands for sale sunglasses-wise and that they’d have the purchasing power to extend their sales to all the brands.
