Kings Mills Genl Store & Christmas Shop

Never heard of this place until my friend mentioned it. Our work is having an ornament exchange so it gave me a great excuse to shop here.
I love Christmas, but I don’t get carried away with décor. I like to have my tree up and keep it simple.
For those of you who love Christmas shopping, this is right up your alley! I absolutely LOVE that it’s a small white shack. Very nostalgic and gets you in the holiday spirit. Plus the owners and staff are extra friendly.
The Christmas Shop is a family owned business for 29 years. They are located just off Kings Island Drive across from the Kings Island Resort at the end of Wilson Ave, one minute from Kings Island and Great Wolf Lodge. They are associated with the Island Gallery and Christmas Shop in Mateo, NC.

I was in there to buy one thing and ended up buying some ornaments for myself.
They have so much you can choose from that fits your personality. For example, I got a workout shirt ornament that reads «Fitness Diva» for only $ 7.50 and my favorite is the red wine glass (it tilts when you hang it and there is red liquid in the glass. Looks so real!) for $ 6.95. I bought other ornanments for my tree. My favorite is the Ornament shoe section! OMG! So much to choose from since I have a shoe fetish!
Pricing is reasonable and huge selection!
We probably spent an hour in there. It’s a decent size house and very well organized.
Their hours:
Mid April to November Daily 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
November-​December (23^rd) 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Christimas Eve open until 2:00 p.m.
Closed on Mother’s Day, Easter Sunday, and Thanksgiving.
I know that people who love Christmas would appreciate this place.

I have been going to this Christmas store for a couple years now and it’s your one stop ornament shop! I go with a couple friends at least twice a year. The first time we went we weren’t expecting much because of the outside of the building but when we walked in we were HOOKED! :) They have an ornament for anyone that you are looking for plus some for yourself! They also carry naivety scenes, tree toppers and candles.
They don’t just have christmas stuff though, they also have a small Halloween section that’s just as awesome! The staff is great too, they are always friendly and helpful.
I don’t suggest you bring small children unless you plan on keeping a close eye on them… some ornaments are a little expensive.
We plan on going again near the end of November and I cannot wait!

Don’t be deceived by the humble location and appearance — this place is amazing. So many ornaments, covering so many themes.
We arrived a few minutes past five, not realizing that was closing time. I normally never would do that, but we were welcomed in warmly and told to feel free to look around. We were incredibly impressed by the selection, and will probably be making a return trip.

Very nice Christmas store. Believe me I can’t say how many I research before I go on vacation. The displays are very well done and they have quality ornaments. The owners are so nice to talk with. If I am in the area again in the future, won’t hesitate to return. Support local businesses.

I love this place! Whenever I need a pick me up, a visit to this store can’t help but make me smile. Perfect place to shop for Christmas ornaments and to get decorating ideas.
