Starbucks

I ordered a cold brew, because I loved the cold brew I was getting at the Pi’ikea location — rich without a hint of sourness. But they gave me unsweetened iced coffee and charged me the cold brew price — sour as all heck. I will never come back to this location.

Ok folks, its Starbucks. You know the drill. This one stays super busy as its a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. They do a great job in here, but they tend to run out of some of the pastry items early in the day. This location probably needs to get a super good manager given the volume they do here. Some things just aren’t quite up to snuff, but I know that all the employees are doing their best.

Not 100% up to what I would expect from sbucks brand. You expect more clean. Also coffee not always brewed. Actually asked if I wanted to wait 10 min for it to finish.

Great coffee and great service! Always happy to greet you. This Starbucks is busy with a line. The outside seating is great and you can login to the wifi even outside. I will be back next time I am in Kihei!

Worst Starbucks I have ever visited! Tried it 3x had 3 different baristas none of which knew how to make the coffee on their own menu! 1^st time ordered a hot grande sugar free vanilla latte. Waited 10 mins or more… cold and bitter. 2^nd ordered a venti (sfvl) they were out of cups they had to give me 2 talls… cold, bitter. 3^rd time ordered a grande (sfvl) barista asked me how many pumps of syrup I wanted… I say how many does it normally come with… he said 4. I said will have that then. Come to find out a grande usually has 3 pumps so once again coffee bitter… blah. Do not go to Starbucks in Kihei.

This is my favorite Starbucks on the island of Maui; hands down best service and speed. As have operated and managed a Starbucks franchise I know how hard it is to find good staffing especially with resort type jobs stealing neighboring help.
This location gets extremely busy and even has a coffee master here which is rare in the state. Clean and organized; this location is usually stocked and ready to go in the morning hours. Not sure what they look like in the afternoon.
Special shout out to the morning crew as they always remember my drinks and name. They relentlessly ask me to download app to gain reward points…

Nice clean Starbucks. We came here because Ulu Market is permanently closed. Starbucks is the same wherever you go – which is sometimes just what you need.

I’m not a coffee snob, nor do I pretend to be. I simply went along with a friend, who was craving Starbucks coffee and who comes to this location frequently. Being that I was there, I decided to order a Frappucino.
The place was not that busy; the usual people on their computers, sitting around. There was a family of 4 standing in front of us ordering. Everytime they ordered something, it seemed as if the Barista would tell them they don’t have something or was unable to process the order. After literally 10 minutes, they were able to order what was available! Although there were 3 Baristas there, only one manned the cashier, while the other one appeared to be gathering trash and the 3^rd made the drinks.
Next up to order was my friend. I was next and a lady walked in about 12 minutes after we first got there. As my friend placed his order, the Barista making the drinks walked up to the lady behind me and took her order. Apparently they knew eachother and the Barista then walked back to her station, made the female’s drink and handed it to her. I was dumbfounded! Sure she didn’t ring her order up in front of mines, however, wouldn’t it have been just as fair to make my order for me as I waited and allowed me to pay just as you did to her?! I’m pretty sure if the roles were reversed and I was the Barista, you would have been upset about this type of customer service, simply because I knew the person in line!
Once I was able to place my order (Vanilla Bean Frappucino) and got it, it was watered down, compared to what I’ve had at other Starbucks locations. Very discouraging and definitely not a Starbucks that I would visit again.
If this Starbucks is independently owned, the owner really has to address this concern. If that has happened to me on my first visit, it’s almost certainly happening more than that! Even though the Barista’s may know some of these customers personally or from repeat visits, this type of unintended rudeness would definitely make me not want to be a regular! And forget tipping!!!
I would rather drive another half block and visit the Starbucks there instead!!!

I’ll admit that while I’d prefer to support an independent coffee house any day of the week, I’m a sucker for the consistency of Starbucks. That, and my better half is a gem of a man and always reloads my Starbucks card so that I can work in quiet (read: away from home). This is a lovely place to recoup, edit, write, and refresh. It isn’t just its location in South Kihei; it’s the wonderful, wonderful staff, most of whom know me by name and are sweet as can be – especially Betsy and Elinor. While this spot has seen some tawdriness over the years, and that’s no fault of management, it’s been cleaned up nicely. And did I mention they have a huge patio with views of the sea?!?

What a terribly managed Starbucks location.
Stopped by for an iced tea and a frappuccino yesterday.
They were out of trenta cups for the tea. Out of lids for any sized drinks, so they used the dome lids.
The venti cups were partially crushed on the bottom, when I set my drink down it toppled over and went all over the place. They didn’t really even care.
Starbucks: You are in a prime location. You are busy. It is hot weather. Order the appropriate amount of supplies that your store will need. people spend the extra $ on Starbucks for the quality, experience and service that you expect.

Although I do my best to support local owned businesses at home or abroad, Starbucks is the place I come home to every single time. Maybe it’s the consistency of being able to order a gigantic overly sugared drink that has as many calories as a Big Mac. Or that ever so familiar chair that’s the color of old Khaki’s and is always covered in someone else’s crumbs. And I almost forgot to mention my personal favorite, that slightly odd man who sits alone at the Buck all day but yet gets no work done. All of these elements can be found at Starbucks no matter where I go, along with the very most important element: Air-​conditioning. I’ve been to two different local coffee shops on Maui during my visit and both of them felt like I was hanging with Robinson Crusoe and Wilson from «Castaway.» Good coffee and eats, but alas, no air-​conditioning, barely any fan circulation and zero breeze. How is a girl suppose to enjoy her piping hot cup of coffee while she’s sweating like Beyonce on the dance floor?
I had the good intentions of supporting another local coffee shop that morning, but after walking a mile in the sun I decided to pit stop at Starbucks to take a rest. Once that cool air hit me and I sank into my oh so familiar crumb covered chair, I was done. I sat there for two hours talking on the phone, watching Netflix and got lost on the interwebs looking for clothes I didn’t need. It was pure heaven and not once did anyone bother me. Thank you Starbucks for always being consistent and making me a corporate sell-​out, no matter where I go.

Quick and clean this became «our store» while on vacation. Service was friendly and parking is pretty easy.

Fast and efficient! It wasn’t busy when we went so our drinks came out pretty quick! Typical Starbucks chain. Nice and clean. Good customer service.

More efficient & friendlier at this location compared to the Starbucks in the plaza off of Piikea Ave & Liloa Dr. The baristas here seem to know what they’re doing and understand what visitors from the mainland want, despite how complicated your drink order is.
The interior café area is somewhat spacious but most of the chairs will have someone sitting in it, feeding off of the free Google wifi (no more AT&T). The outside patio is big, and you’ll most likely see a dog tied up near the front of the store every time you walk up to the store.
Don’t forget to leave a tip for your baristas! You can do so on your Starbucks app now!
If you tip your bartenders to open an overpriced bottle of beer for you at night, I’m sure your baristas deserve it much more as they make your complicated drinks in the morning. ;)

Typical, reliable Starbucks with a nice umbrella table deck overlooking Kalama Park. A great place for people watching, and enjoying a latte!

My vanilla bean frap had a bug in it and they refused to give me a refund or another one. Worst statbucks ever.

Great service and great atmosphere. Not every single starbucks taste the same nor good but the baristas at this location consistantly make great coffee. My 2.5 yr old son threw up all over the floor today and oh my i felt so awful but no one there made me feel bad. Instead they offered water, things to clean, and made sure my son was ok and helped me clean the area. Actually they cleaned the area. Some might say it is their job but what they did n showed me truly make me appreciate everyone there!

Great Starbucks: clean, friendly staff, not swamped at all hours of the day and best of all, great coffee. So glad we found this Starbucks… Kahului’s two Starbucks are swamped all the time and their facilities inside and outside leave a lot to be desired cleanliness wise.

Just putting this up so I can track the places I visited while in Hawaii, on ⁴⁄₉ picked up a large blonde roast. Yum, can’t beat the simple coffee, black with no sugar or cream to mess it up.

Im a starbucks addict like alot of people out there. I spend alot of money on this company every month. I know how my drink should taste and when i said something about it they gave me bad look and attitude. Maybe it’s because I’m not white (haole) like all the staff? Went to this location once…
I never went back to this location again. And never will.!!
