Belle Surf couldn’t be any cuter. We ordered coconut cappuccinos and the American bagel. Fast, friendly and very yummy.

Cute shop. Service– EH, kinda rude for the morning. Asked if they still were serving the green juice and she just kinda laughed at me. So I ordered a ice blended drink and it was tasty. The Chai latte was good also.

We are Seattle coffee snobs. I got a Hario pour over and my spouse picked up a cold brew. Delicious and knew what they were doing. Cute hipster spot through the moped rental shop that also has crepes and other food items. Great for anyone looking for a cup of coffee or fun iced tea options. This place is slow but adorable and worth the business. Went to Lava Java on our first day and super happy to not go there again after finding this spot.

YUM! I absolutely loved the Nutella and strawberry crêpe I had here. My mother was born and raised in France so let me tell you, I’ve had many a crêpe in my life. The owner we found out is also from France so maybe that explains why the crêpe was so good: P Definitely go to this spot if you’re looking for a yummy breakfast or treat! They even have savory crepes which I will definitely be trying next time!

My boyfriend and I got here shortly after they opened for the day, so we appeared to be the first ones here. I ordered a Salted Caramel Frappé with almond milk and a Haleakala Crêpe with added strawberries. It’s not on their online menu, but it’s basically a Paia Crêpe with salted caramel drizzled on top. The crêpe itself was above average. It was certainly not the best crêpe I’ve ever had and it underwhelmed. The frappé was very strong, and since I’m not a huge coffee drinker, I had a hard time finishing it. My boyfriend also got the same crêpe without the strawberries and a latté with almond milk. He didn’t like his latté too much for the opposite reason I didn’t like mine, though he is a coffee drinker. It was watered down too much with the almond milk, and there was just too much foam for his liking. While we got our drinks fairly quickly, the crêpes took WAY too long. We sat for probably at least 20 minutes AFTER getting our drinks. I understand that crêpes might take a bit to make them properly, but I really hope it wasn’t because they only have one crêpe maker. I didn’t bother to check, but for a place that sells crêpes, I really hope there’s more than one machine. Granted, there was only one employee, but one person can definitely manage two crêpes. After being here for almost an hour, we finally left and got to start the rest of our day. If you’ve got time to kill, then definitely come on down for a little French-inspired breakfast. Otherwise, I suggest going somewhere else, if you’re on a time crunch. This place was also kind of confusing to find. The entrance is located by the moped store under an arch. At quick glance, it looks like you’re entering a moped store because there are a bunch of mopeds on display outside. Rest assured, you are in the right place. Once you enter through there, it’ll be on your right. Overall: 3⁄5 Food: 3.5÷5 Service: 2⁄5 Atmosphere: 3⁄5

Recommend on a lazy beach morning when you’re feeling very casual. Although when are you not feeling casual on a beach, I guess. If it had an actual ocean view, it would be an ideal restaurant setting. But as it is, it’s charming and relaxing, albeit it a little hipster. My girlfriend and I both ordered a crêpe, which we both thoroughly enjoyed. My girlfriend, being well-versed in French food, has taught me that a thin crêpe provides a better taste, which is how they’re prepared here. We each ordered the Haleakala crêpe, with banana and sea salt(she added strawberries because strawberries, I suppose). They actually have a pretty robust menu, with bagels and other goods, to boot. What was disappointing, however, was the drank. I went with a simple latte with almond milk, and much of the cup was wasted on foam. The actual drink itself was rather tasteless, for some reason. The orders also seemed to take a very long time to be prepared, and good thing we were the first ones there in the morning because only one associate was available to take orders and prepare food and drank. A line started forming after us, so I’m not sure what amount of time other folks had to wait. But, it’s unique to Kihei. Crepes: 4⁄5 Drank: 2⁄5 Our confusion finding the place, because I’m dumb: 4⁄5(go through the moped rental place to get in, lol).

Update: I waned to love Belle Surf Café, but so many things have gone wrong since my last two visits. First was the horrible acai which was more than a juice and less of a smoothie. And today 5⁄19 I was served my latte with ANTS. That alone questions the cleanliness of the café. And for the baristas to serve that to me or anyone is unacceptable. They serve their lattes without a cover by the way, so they should have been aware of the ANTS. I can’t go back. This Café needs to clean their area more and serve QUALITY and CLEAN items. But, on a side note, they are now selling totes, accessories and children’s books. Older review: Adorable café nestled in a market area. Very cozy and very boutique like. Fun place for any person looking for coffee. Selections of treats and coffee vary and the list is long and can cater any kind of coffee lover. I have ordered their frappes, but the consistency is more of a latte. Flavor is still very good. I’ve also had their vanilla iced latte which I’ve enjoyed lately more than the other drinks. And of course the flat white! Food. Umm, I ordered an acai bowl for $ 10.95. It was not what I expected. This being that the acai bowl was more of a chocolate smoothie but more watery. I was pretty disappointed and am sure I would never order that again. But, the donuts. Can’t get enough of those sweet and savory goodness!

Coffee is not cheap here($ 4.60 for cold drip, no ice coffee here), but the coffee is certainly delicious. The Californian crêpe was surprisingly delicious too! Total cost for two coffees and a crêpe came out to $ 24 after tax and tip, but it’s worth the trip!

I had the Café de Flore and ordered a P B & J bagel. While I waited, i experienced the barista having attitude with guests. They were older. The kinda folks you’d find in Florida. Out of their element in a place like Belle Café, maybe hard of hearing. I received my iced café de flore. Very tasty. That’s why the two stars. After I’d drank almost half, the person that I thought was making my bagel walked out to clean tables. I asked the barista about my bagel. Oops, totally forgotten. No apology. The peanut butter was impossible to spread. And stuck to my teeth. Wish I hadn’t wasted my time here. Don’t waste yours.

Aloha, I stopped there for quick coffee. Bingo!!! They have great coffee machine, great coffee beans(not from Maui — so far I have not found Maui coffee which suits my pallet). Server was very sweet and while she was preparing coffee, was chatting, smiling … I found this coffee house on Unilocal. PS: if you check in you will get 1 $ off from coffee or fresh juice(check actual offer).

Located a little out of the way, The food is very average and quite expensive but the coffee is just excellent. The cold drip is what they are known for, would definitely recommend trying this out. I would get food elsewhere but definitely stop in to get a coffee.

Chemex, V60, Cold Drip. These all sound like words you would use in chemistry class than in a coffee shop. I visited December 2014 and I still have vivid memories of Belle Surf Café. Most notably the awesome flavor charts that resembled a spider web. Since when did drinking coffee start to resemble drinking wine? Man … we’re all snobs now. Loved it.

November 15, 2015 Sunday — 8:45AM for breakfast 4 adults Atmosphere — 3 star Food — 3 stars Service — 2 stars Background — In the search for breakfast. Atmosphere — A little shop with most of the seating outside. Food Food — This places is supposed to be about crepes. I love the sweet ones for breakfast. I had one with local strawberries, the Smile. It really could have used more strawberries. Service — Four people in our group, I was the last one to get my crêpe. I would have figured at worse case they would have two crêpe stations going. Clearly not as the timing between deliveries was horrible. Everyone was done eating by the time my crêpe arrived. That is some bad timing by the small kitchen. Future — That timing of everyone getting their food at different times will prevent me from going back.

Nice people but slow service and bland crepes. Asked for salsa or some sort of hot sauce and they didn’t have either. Four of us ordered crepes and they came out one at a time with a five minutes in between. I love that they have chemex and V60 coffee offerings but didn’t try them. They need to amp up their seasoning or offer some sauces for their savory crepes top have me come back.

Wife & I stopped here because of the Donuts from Dynamite Donuts. We got hooked on these dounts when we first tried them at 2014 Maui Brewfest. Memphis Belle is the only brick & mortar location you can get Dynamite Donuts. We both ordered 2 cups of Americana coffee to go with our donuts and the bold coffee taste, blended perfectly with the sweetness of the donut. This coffee house is a little bit obscured from the road because it is located within a mini tropical themed marketplace.

Memphis Belle coffee is a great coffee shop that is easy to miss or not know about. They are in a corner strip mall just north of Kalama Park on the makai side of S Kihei rd. There is parking in back, and there is a window sign that shows where it is, but you really have to pay attention to see it if you don’t know where the shop is. Despite the difficulty I had in initially locating Memphis Belle, it is worth the effort to find it. They serve coffee prepared in many styles. I don’t drink coffee, but I did find their explanations in the store and on their website about the different ways to prepare coffee fascinating(but I’m a nerd). I had a New Zealand breakfast tea which was excellent. My only complaint about the tea is that they don’t offer skim milk, but they have while and 2% cow milk and other milks such as coconut, soy, and I think, almond. An interesting thing they have done with the tea is to place samples of the tea out and allow the customers to smell the leaves. It helped me decide to try I’ve tea over another. They also have a card that describes the grass as well. Another new find for me today is Dynamite Donuts. These are gourmet locally made donuts. They sell them here, but when they run out, there are no more for the day.

My husband and I live for our morning coffee which we brew with a Chemex, so when I’m away from home I tend to get the java blues. There’s nothing worse than getting a lame cup of coffee that taste like it’s been sitting for hours on a warmer or is so weak it’s like drinking dirty water. If you’re serious about how your coffee is brewed, you’ll love Memphis Belle! COFFEE&TEA: You’ll get to choose from three different brew styles which I though was very impressive: Chemex, V60 and cold drip. I decided to go with the cold drip because that’s not something I’d do at home. Such wonderful tasting coffee that I enjoyed black on ice. I then decided to get the Maui Vog which I got as a chai latte. They add cinnamon, coconut milk and when served on ice, it was perfection! DECOR: Memphis Belle is tiny with some indoor and outdoor seating. Bohemian DIY and so much to discover in every nook and cranny. Old records plastered to the walls, dream catchers for sale and a small community board, really makes this spot feel like a home away from home. No air-conditioning, so thankfully there was a fan which helped push the breeze through the shop. SERVICE: Out of all the places I visited during my trip to Maui, Memphis Belle blew everyone away when it came to service. The adorable girl that helped us during our visit was so thoughtful and explained all our drinks in detail. Many times when visiting local coffee shops you get the emo barrista who really isn’t interested in the customer, not the case here. They were out of their infamous donuts and even offered to call us the next to day to let us know when they were in stock. Sure enough, the next morning the same girl left a message so we could stop by and try some Donut Dynamite. Now that is truly kick-ass customer service! LOCATION: A little difficult to find but worth it if you’re into supporting local. Memphis Belle is housed in a small colorfully painted building that houses a mish mash of shops. Parking is free in their lot which is located on the backside.

Kihei’s little hidden gem… This place is one of my favorites and with good reason. It’s tucked away out of the hustle and bustle of downtown, yet the place is still hopping with local surfer dudes, tourists looking for the best cup of maui coffee and moms hanging out with other moms while the keiki play. It’s got a really chill vibe. The coffee is great, but today I really have to brag on their donuts. These are not just any olé donuts. Oh no my friend… These are little round shaped pieces of paradise. For real. Made on Maui with fresh local ingredients… Donut dynamite makes these little beauties. They are really one of those treats that you are rewarded with after a long session at the gym. Every day she offers a different variety. How about likikoi malasada? Vanilla rose? Maple bacon? Great. Now I’m starving. See you in the morning Memphis Belle! :)

Very relaxed vibes which fits perfectly in Kihei. Great little spot. Not the best in the world, but serves a kind cup of coffee and donuts. It seems the Dynamite Donuts are the featured attraction and sell quickly. I have had both the Oh! Reo Cookie and the Vanilla Rose donuts and they are above average.
